Matthew 23:13 "But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in." God commands all men everywhere to repent; the doom of the world is coming because men do not repent; there are many hypocrites and impostors misleading many by false teaching and do not repent.

Bruce; Maybe YOU cannot quit sinning; and maybe the Church you go to teaches that; but the Scriptures tell us very plainly God's command to repent! How can one be still sinning, and of the devil, while being a new creation in Christ? How do you square being born of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God, and born from above through the Spirit, yet still a disobedient rebel at the same time?
  • Bruce on 1 John 3 - 7 years ago
Randy: No one can stop Sinning. We all have a wicked Heart. Only with a new Heart We can have Victory. That happens when We accept The Way of Salvation. The Father will Call. A Tugging on Your Heart: John 6:44. Ask Forgiveness. You will be Washed by The Blood of The Lamb:Revelation1:5. You will be Baptized by The Holy Ghost:1:8. You will be Changed,You will Know! 2Corinthians 5:17. Impossible not to

Randy; "Except you be converted...REPENT and be converted, you shall not see the kingdom of heaven." Everyone knows what REPENT means! If someone quits smoking, then they do not smoke any more! Jesus has paid for our sins on the cross, not for us to continue sinning; but that we should be forgiven and reconciled to God, and MADE NEW MEN! Do what you need to do NOW and be DONE WITH SINNING forever!

Love is obeying His covenant. If the old covenant forgave sin, what is the New Covenant?

Hey there Wayne! Are you saying what I think you're saying?
  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 7 years ago
Good scripture, Steve. Once again stating Jesus is the Son of God.
  • Lilly on 1 John 3 - 7 years ago
In verses 1 John was urging Christians to think about the nature and magnitude of God’s love for them, to consider how God loves them. Comprehending Jehovah’s love in those terms will surely deepen our love for him and strengthen our relationship with him.
  • Jacob Ameh Sani on 1 John 3 - 7 years ago
Verse 18: True Love is burden bearing( John 3:16, Galatians 6:2) and it is never convenient most times. If you wait until it is convenient for you before attending to the plights of all men( believers and heathens) you may miss out on the call of Love and/or God.

    V. 8, He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. V. 9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit.

Baptism, 1 Peter 3:21, does not put away the filth of the flesh, but is an answer of a good conscience toward God. During baptism, if a person is not redeemed, they'll just get wet.

Lance - God Bless You for being on here - Acts 2: 38

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    First comes repentance
    Second comes Baptism
    Third comes remission of sins
    Fourth comes the holy spirit

This is the answer given to the question what must I do to be saved.
MUST being the key word. Its a command not option.
  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not, whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him. V6
  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, he that believeth not shall be damned. As far as salvation goes, it's in either believe or not believe. I Peter 3 tells us that baptism does not save us, as a religious exercise. Outward proof to the world the work has taken place inside. For by grace are ye saved by faith. It is the gift of God. Gifts are free, no works involved. AMEN

Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized shall be saved.

Sharon:We are saved when The Father tugs on our heart and tells us we need The One that died on The Cross:John6:44/When we ask forgiveness We are Washed by his blood:Revelation1:5/Made new: 2Corinthians 5:17 Baptized with The Holy Ghost: Matthew 3:11/Sealed: Ephesians 4:30/If we are really saved we don't want no more sin! But sometimes we do sin. No our salvation is secured in Christ! If saved?

RJ, read Romans 6th chapter. Sin shall not have dominion over you. HD has good scripture and 1 John 1, if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another. And the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. Talk to Jesus all day long in praise and worship and about that problem that would bring you down. God Bless You

Joh 6:37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.

Can you lose your salvation after u o'er accepted Jesus Christmas as your savior and you do not repent that sin?
  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
1 John 5:18-19; We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not. But he that is begotten of God keepeth himself and that wicked one touched him not. And we know that we are of God and the whole world lieth in wickedness. We must realize the scriptures are true and alive. When we see a fault in ourselves, we talk to Jesus about it and ask Him to cleanse us from that fault. Talk to him all day.
  • Evangelist,Donnie,w,Gray on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
John.3:18, Whosoever does not believe stands condemned already. Matthew.25:33-34, Christiano will not be found guilty on Judgement Day. When we commit a sin,we condemn ourselves, but God does not condemn us. Jesus took our sins and hung them on His cross, taking them out of the way. God will not condemn Jesus, all those sins belonged to us not Him,He was sinless. We need to stop blaming ourselves.
  • HD on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
The Bible says that God never condemns in His dealings with us. He is never a bully. He doesn't push us around like our enemy, the Devil. When God talks to us about sin or faults, it's always according to the law of the Spirit of life. Read( Rom 8:1,2) also If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
    1 John 1:9 KJV

I Jn. 3: 20-21 Says that as a true believer, we do not sin. But we do. Maybe not intentionally but we still do. So what now?
  • Irene123 on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
    V. 16 - N0, we don't 'physically' die; we lay down our lives when we are 'buried' with Him in baptism, Col. 2:12; Rom. 6:4; and in the mouths of two or three witnesses ... "; God bless you, Mockingbird.
