Isaiah 9:1 Context
1Neuerthelesse the dimnesse shall not be such as was in her vexation; when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grieuously afflict her by the way of the Sea, beyond Iordan in Galile of the nations. 2The people that walked in darknesse, haue seene a great light: they that dwel in the land of the shadow of death, vpon them hath the light shined. 3Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the ioy: they ioy before thee, according to the ioy in haruest, and as men reioyce when they diuide the spoile.
