1Againe there was a day when the sonnes of God came to present themselues before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himselfe before the Lord. 2And the Lord said vnto Satan, From whence commest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to & fro in the earth, and from walking vp and downe in it. 3And the Lord said vnto Satan, Hast thou considered my seruant Iob, that there is none like him in the earth; a perfect and an vpright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth euill? and still hee holdeth fast his integritie, although thou moouedst mee against him, to destroy him without cause. 4And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skinne for skinne, yea all that a man hath, wil he giue for his life. 5But put foorth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
