23¶ And Iohn also was baptizing in Aenon, neere to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 24For Iohn was not yet cast into prison. 25¶ Then there arose a question between some of Iohns disciples and the Iewes, about purifying. 26And they came vnto Iohn, and said vnto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Iordane, to whom thou barest witnesse, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. 27Iohn answered, and said, A man can receiue nothing, except it be giuen him from heauen.
