24¶ And when the messengers of Iohn were departed, hee beganne to speake vnto þe people concerning Iohn: What went ye out into the wildernesse for to see? A reede shaken with the winde? 25But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and liue delicately, are in kings courts. 26But what went ye out for to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say vnto you, and much more then a Prophet. 27This is he of whome it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 28For I say vnto you, among those that are borne of women, there is not a greater Prophet then Iohn the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdome of God, is greater then he.
