As I said earlier a brother in Christ resembles our relationship with God to a love affair between two persons. When two people are in love with each other they want to be together all the time. They want to talk to each other for hours and hours. They enjoy each other's presence. They miss each other when they are away and try to get together as soon as possible. They try to find what pleases the other person and do it.
It is the same with our relationship with God. We don't go to prayer because we should do it but because we want to be together with the love of our life and talk to Him. We don't follow God because we don't want to go hell but because we love Him so much so that we can bear the thought that we can live a life without Him
It should be a love affair. We must assure our heart of God's love for us. This is something we sometimes fail to realize. Often we (definitely me) see our relationship with God as a relatioship between a powerful master and a slave who is obliged to obey their master, otherwise they will be punished. We see God's commandements as a list of dos and donts. 1. I must do this 2. I must do that. 3. I must not do this, that. etc, etc. And we are loading ourselves with such a heavy load so that we fall down. Shouldn't we obey God? Yes definitely we must obey Him. But not considering it as an obligation but as an effort to please the love of our heart. We do what pleases Him, like He does what pleases us but is also beneficial for us, since sometimes what pleases us does not benefit us. That later God will not do. So the result is the same but the path to get there is different.
(And of course if we try to do everything without God's grace we will fail. Nothing can be done using our own powers and abilities. We need God's grace. If we really understand that, we will unload ourselves from a lot of guilt for often not managing to do what is asked for by God.)

Hebr 3:12-14
"12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Sin can deceive people and cause them to turn away from God. Remember the prodigal son. The good news is that our Father is always waiting for us to come back. GBU
One of my favorite verses is 2 Cor 5:21
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
We have to build our lives on God's love.
Eph 3:14-19
"14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height (of Christ's love);
19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

It is like a man who starts a business and fails. And finds himself under a lot of debt. So, He picks up someone who has nothing to do with his business and makes him pay the debts that were created. It doesn't sound right to me. It doesn't sound fair for that other person.

Rom 8:28-30
"28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
God has a plan for every one of us. We just have to trust our lives in Him.
GBU
We all have the need to have these truths in mind all the time so that we don't fall down easily. And if we fall then let's get up straight away holding our Lord's hand which is always there for us. It is necessary to build our lives on God's love, assurance and protectiion. We are like small kids who can not go on in life if they are not surrounded by their parent's love, assurance and protection. I'm glad someone benefited from my comment. GBU
Your posting on God's love brings to mind Heb 2:10 where God deemed it "fitting to crush His Son in order to bring many sons to glory". 1 John 4:16 is so comforting in that it reveals that God is love and in love He ordained to redeem sinful humans to become fitted to commune with Him in the love of the Godhead. We were ruined by sin, but, for His glory, God purposed to save us when we were dead in sin through the sacrifice of our Savior and the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit so we could be made alive in Christ and made holy and acceptable before the Father. 1 John 3:1 expresses that God has "lavished His love upon us" in such a way that we become His children. Oh, what manner of love is this! Can we even know the depths of this love?
1Peter 4:8 exhorts us to love each other because love covers a multitude of sins. The sacrifice of Jesus did just that. He did it all for love of the people the Father predestined to give the Son before all of creation. He loved the Son in this way. We are a gift to His Son and also we are a gift to the Father. We do not deserve this at all, but God deemed it a highly desirable to create us for this purpose. We are to dwell in His love and enjoy the love relationship of the Godhead forever. That is so very awesome!
God's love is a tremendous gift to us. He does all things for His glory. His God-centeredness extends outward to His creation in all He ordains and brings to fruition. We are the beneficiaries of the internal love of the Godhead. In His wisdom, He deemed that He would be most glorified in saving a people made holy and righteous by the work and sacrifice of His ONE and ONLY Son because He is the source of all life, goodness and love. In raising His Son from death to life God demonstrated that death cannot conquer His love for His Son nor for the people Jesus died for to become children of God.
These are my immediate thoughts on your postings on God's love for us. It is such a beautiful truth to grasp.
"And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died."
Seth served as the branch and demonstrated he was created in our image. His parent according to the flesh gave him a natural body. "And (Adam) begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image" So3x3 refers to image of the Father and Son. He who has the Son has the Father. the number 10 refers to the man shappen in iniquity, his father sinned and came short of the glory. Thus 30x30 explains Seth by his own right. 900+12 Where 12 exlains the life lived in faith. This number shall be recurring as we go further in annotating the word of God.
In short Seth's life is modelled after the Word which was God.
Let us consider Enoch-vv.23-24
" And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:/And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him." 120x3+5 Here number Five refers to Enoch walking as one. Two worlds where the common centre is soul of man. Word become flesh is Command number Four and Three refers o the Son. Thus Five refers to the soul of Enoch. "For God took him"

My COGIC WORSHIP: 1Corithians 15:3-4 KJV Jesus Christ is God of All. I Worship God of Morals and Meaning opportunity to believe in Christ-Only God to believe in with validity. God allows me to commune with God. I Worship God of Purity and Perfect Care. I Worship God that always does his Word for me blessing me with something and to benefit in all my subjects. "Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."(1 Tim.2.15)
The title should read "two worlds"
Thank you.
"And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth."
Here the Spirit refers to the role of Adam in naming Seth while in 4.25 it was Eve who names him, "For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew." There is no contradiction since God presents Adam and Eve as of one flesh. "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."(2,24). This explains Adam God refers the last Adam for the purpose of another seed and it is validated in heaven giving us the firm foundation of the fulness of God in Jesus Christ. A Christian lives in the world of the Spirit and in the world of the body. God hedges him about as he did with Job. We shall see it illustrated in the case of Abel.
God confronts Cain after his brother is slain, and tells him,What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground."(4.10). He is heard so the land of the living tells us what God is. "God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." (Mt.22.32)
Adam sinned and came short of the glory of God. Expelled from the garden he is still of one flesh with Eve. This flesh is called 'flesh and blood.' St Paul refers to it,"flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."(1 Cor.15.50). Seth stepped in the breach of Abel and the last Adam as the Branch sanctifies a holy family, Thus wherever names are warranted they shall be deemed righteous as Abel was. For this reason in the chapter the Holy Spirit makes distinction as shown below.
" And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:/And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters." (5.6-7)
The voice of Abel being dead but ear of faith is from God, "God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh."
v.1 "In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him"
Generations are not merely about men but his world, both of heaven and the earth. At the end of the seven days we have this verse,"These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,"(Gen.2.4) What is the Son but an image orchestrating the lives of man in his own generation to the fulness of God? The last Adam in the will of the Father upholds the glory while Jesus Christ as the word becme flesh has emptied himself. Jesus in his prayer refers to the glory. " his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;/ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power.")Heb.1.2-3; 'humbled himself- 'Phi.2.7-8; 'the glory which I had with thee before the world was'- Jn 17.5).
Having said this Eve has Seth and it is she who names him," and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew." (4, 25) Adam and Ever were one flesh so we have the principle of Similitude in heaven as well. In heaven the last Adam stands in the breach of Adam who is earthy. On the earth Eve as the mother of all living names Seth. The Son validated this by the word of his power. It is he who upholds the glory of God and also the world.
God's will we can glean from the names so Noah;s father names his son, Noah,"This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed."(5.29). Lamech of Cain's progeny showed pride in seventy time seven fold, Noah's father however summerd up, "And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died."(v.31) multiples of seven testifies the Covenant works since man is created 'in our image'.
"
I suppose, you refer to "And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:/That in blessing I will bless thee." God is referring to his Son. For instance,"The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."(Ps.110.4)
Holiness of God when translated into the Father Son relationship his its own distinct address or ealutation. So I and my Father are one and also when Jesus says, My Father works hitherto, and I work, the manner the Son shall fulfill is an obvious consequence of hHis oath.
This holines between the Father and Son is illustrated in terms of the Word as the Law. (Ps.119.89)
The Spirit presents thiis Law as a covenant at the outset. So what God promises patriarch Abraham is nothing new but the blessings assured to whosoever believes in his Son.(Gen.1.28) Hope this is of help to you,
Nor addressed or reconciled how if taking the sabbath as it is written from God making the 7 th day a day of rest for He rested from all His works on the 7th day . With that verse ALSO written that " we are to rest from all our works as God did from His" Nor have you addressed Paul teaching about one esteeming one day and another every day ?
But simply quite a lot of verses at me not related . Or bring in some idea I'm trying to 'save" someone etc wgen only God can .What relevance is that to the matter in hand .
Or the fact that "the sabbath was but a foreshadow.."
I am not going to go on about it but simply once again warn of one denominations obsession with the matter in a manner that is not unlike the Pharisees the Lord faced and for the same reasons .
If one person esteems one day above all others and another esteems all alike then let both be fully orrsauded in their own minds says Paul . Anything else is but carnal thinking .
I responded to the original post seeking to help the poster not " save them" . The warning is substantive .
It is unprofitable to continue unless you adress points raised .
"For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
If man could think twice before sacrificing his life for another, shouldn't we expect the same of God Who should rightfully consign each one of us sinners to hell without mercy? But God's Love for every sinner is without equal, that He should send His Son to pay the price for our redemption - the great cost which we could never ever pay. And the excellence of the Love of God was that He took on our flesh for the suffering of death. To me, this is the clear demonstration of that Love - not by creating another human to pay the price for our sin, which to me, fails the test of understanding & appreciating Divine Love.
Also, great to see you back on these pages Giannis. GBU.
"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;."
The Bible is the God document relating to the fellowship of God with Man. The capitalised Man is to specify the Son in whom man has access to God. The Book consequently presents two sets of generations one of Jesus Christ and he other relates to the sons of Adam. Within this we have generations as in the case of Noah, "Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood."(Gen.10.1) Obviously the flood was a catastrophic event, a partial judgment in which the old world is purged of all wickedness.
The book of generation of Jesus Christ is the other." . Holy Spirit presents another book which is related to 'My beloved Son' the voice from heaven testifying the quality of divine holiness. " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Generation of man is set against Jesus Christ who is same.(Heb.13.8)
"The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." Thus begin the gospel of Matthew and genealogies of man in three sets stated in Mt.1.17 present us a curious insight into the narrative mode of the Spirit. Command number Three establishes beyond doubt that the Fellowship of God refers to his Son, and in whom his fulness rests. So "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.." By him all things consist, so forever' is phrase as three is a number serving as a clear hint.
In chapter five we have the generation of Adam whose lifves are marked in multiples of three, tens and odd years. Ten refers to the law of sin and death. "And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.(Gen,5.5) and Enoch: " And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years." .(v.23)
I am a mother of 3 sons and grandmother of 2. All of my sons turned away from Jesus in their late teens. It made me so sad then as I did not expect it to happen. But I continue to pray for them daily and I have learned to simply trust God and His ways and plans for them. His ways are perfect, so we can entrust our loved ones into His arms for help and salvation.
I am happy to pray for your children and grands. I hope you will also pray for mine.
I will be praying for your father and yourself. Keep me posted as to your father's recover, please.
This reminds me of Ephesians 2:4-7. Especially verse 7.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7) "THAT IN THE AGES TO COME HE MIGHT SHEW THE EXCEEDING RICHES OF HIS GRACE IN HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US through Christ Jesus.
WHILE WE WERE DEAD IN SINS, God quickened us TOGETHER WITH CHRIST and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places IN CHRIST JESUS!
Why?
"That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
HE MIGHT SHEW THE EXCEEDING RICHES OF HIS GRACE IN HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US THROUGH CHRIST!!
How wonderful!
Blessings.
So getting back to the question. Why did God create us although He knew that He will have a tough time with us? And that He was going to suffer for us?
Because He saw us in the future and loved very much what he saw. What did he see? He saw me and you and you and you and ... He saw all of us. And desired so much what He saw that He didn't step back from His decision to make us although He knew that He would have to suffer for us. That much He loved us before He even made us and is still loving us and strives to get us into His House to live together with us for ever and ever. Not concerned about the consequences on Him of His decision at all.
A brother resembles our relationship with God with a love affair. God is in love with us and wishes us to be in love with Him. His feelings for us are never changing. What about ours for Him?
GBU
Some thoughts of mine.
"Why does God love us", my pastor asked the congregation once. "Why? We are just filthy creatures after all. Sinful people. Dirty people. Why does He love us?"
The obvious answer is that "God is love", I thought immediately. Yet when I thought about it deeper, I said to myself, how is it possible not to love us. After all He created us. He made us with His own hands, He blew His Spirit into us. How is it possible not to love us?
When I went home and was still thinking about it, I thought that He could had avoided creating us after all. God knows the future. He knew that we will disobey Him and eventually it would be necessary to Him to sacrifice Himself for us, dieing a horrible death on a cross for us. So He could had just not create us. And instead He could had made something else like something like angels or something else for which He wouldn't have to suffer anything. Logical thoughts.
I thought of a couple I know for some time The man when he was a young man went to the pastor and asked his opinion about a young woman he was having feelings for. The pastor said that she was a good sister but there was a problem with her. The girl was epilleptic. "You can marry to her but you will have a tough time in your life. It is your decision but you must consider the consequences. It is up to you, your decision, I am just informing you." The young man said that he didn't care about the consequences. He loved her so much and was determined to go through anything to have her. And at the end they got married and today they are having grandchildren. True story. Was he having a tough time? Yes he was and is still having a tough time. But he loved her so much that he didn't step back when he learned about her epillepsy, neither afterwards.

This is exactly what The LORD does when HE skillfully inter-weaves the human body during its development. The LORD interweaves every individual cell to make the necessary tissues, organs, and systems. HE weaves ligaments to connect bones to bones. HE weaves tendons to connect muscles to bones. HE weaves the alimentary canal throughout the torso. HE weaves nerves, arteries, and veins throughout every type of tissue. HE weaves every organ in its proper place to perform its proper function. HE weaves, blood, lymph, hormones, enzymes, chemicals, and all necessary nutrients to give the body life. Finally, HE encases all of this "needlework" inside the "embroidery" of the skin to form the physical human body.
The physical human body is a DIVINELY woven tapestry literally brought to life and animation when GOD breathes "into his nostrils the Breath of Life" ( Gen. 2:7).
In contrast, Job realized his own physical fragility subject to GOD's full and total authority and control ( Job 10:8-13).
The qualifying adjective "curiously" speaks of GOD's Creative Skill and Expertise in administering this physical "tapestry".
But let it be understood that text can be easily misunderstood both as to intent and motive .
If you care to look again I simply presented the fact of the Lords problem with those who's understanding of the Sabbath was at such variance with the truth . I pointed out this alone shouid be taken as warning bells on the subject .
It still is by those who are obsessed with their own denominational interpretation of the subject .
You found fault with not putting in chapter and verse ? For one thing I rarely use obscure verses of scripture but well known and nigh on always " quote" the verse when I do . Given this websites excellent search engine for verses Is it not far better for any who are in doubt as to what the s riotures say to go and look it up for themselves as also it's context and any commentary?
Faith comes not just by hearing but by u derstanding thecWord of God . If a man's words cannot be heard let alone understood unless he gives his breath or life to his words how much the less will we hear and understand Gods Word without the Holy Spirit . You imply or said I expressed my own opinions ? Please show me where and in what way was it wrong what I said .
The s riotures " quoted" are very clear and as clear as those who demand one particular day ( theirs) yet they neither prove or show how those two are reconciled .
My warning therefore was both charitable and not without reason and gave enough "scripture" to give some light on the matter .
"For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew."(4.25)
The Holy Spirit begins generation of Jesus Christ and presents Seth by appointment. It was in the Will of God so Abel and Seth are names which alternate for one another. Last Adam is where they are reconciled.
God created Adam 'in the likeness of God made he him.' What of Abel? He was righteous because of faith. He offered "a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts."(Heb.11.4) In the sight of God Abel was after our image and after our likeness.
While the gospel of Cain was 'Am I my brother's keeper' Jesus did not please himself and took the form of a servant to minister (Rom.15.3) and "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."(Mt.20.28) Cain's gospel was as dark as that of Abel's was, who spared no effort to please God. God's gift was in his flock and the other was faith. Cain denied it.
Now Seth stepping in place of Abel showed he did by faith. Jesus Christ in human likeness was the branch. Chapter Five presents us the holy family from the sons of Adam. What of Abel whose faith Jesus acknowledges as his own? His name is already writen heaven. Mt.23.35. He belongs to the generation of Jesus Christ."And by it (faith) he being dead yet speaketh." We live among darkness while we shine as lights.
Jesus Christ as the intercessor became the Branch and last Adam in the world of Spirit has another group of 144,000 "And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark,"These stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God." They are also as Abel and Seth are, of the selfsame Branch. They are sealed by appointment." till we have sealed the servants of God in their foreheads."(Rev.7.3; 15.2)
In the first para:
"And (Adam) begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth." St Paul refers two aspects of his humanity, "
Please read as,
""And (Adam) begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth." Jesus Christ as the Son of man and as the Branch. St Paul refers two aspects of his humanity, "
Gen.1.1 we have two worlds The Father Son relationship is established by the Covenant in seven days. The unseen world is made to appear by the word of God.(Heb.11.3) Man admitted into the Fellowship consequently shall have 'after our image and after our likeness. Sin of disobedience creates a change. "And (Adam) begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth." St Paul refers two aspects of his humanity, "And took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." (Phil.2.7). First Adam was earthy and his sin made him a servant to sin. Whereas the Word became flesh refers to the last Adam. He is the Lord from heaven and as the Word which was God he was the quickening Spirit.
The sanctified ones tagged with 144,000 are preserved in heaven after our image and after our likeness. The will of God, the Father is perfect. His calling and gifts are without repentance. Consequently it is heresy to deny the two worlds under which we are in the presence of God. In the world unseen we are surrounded by cloud of witnesses where the city Holy Jerusalem is the world that shall be made to appear. (Heb.12.22-23)
God set a mark on Cain and sent out from his Presence. We are hedged about by the word of God as Job was, while the world lay in darkness. We belong to the field of God surrounded by tares sown by our enemy.
This mark of Cain gives the world deceptive riches while the name of the Father written in the foreheads we believe is the pledge of the Father. The Son shall give us a new name in appropriate time.
In short without taking into account our names are written heaven and we are sojourners and pilgrims in the world we cannot please God.
