I agree. Context is always important. For myself, when I study a book in the bible, I like to know who wrote it, when it was written, and why it was written (The purpose of the letter).
The word "replenish" in Genesis 1:28 and "fill" in Genesis 1:22 are translated from the same Hebrew word. However, scripture always verifies itself. Therefore, one must look to another verse usage for contextual clarification. God also told Noah to "replenish the earth" ( Gen. 9:1), and it is very obvious He meant for Noah's family to reproduce for the purpose of repopulating the earth because the prior inhabitants had been destroyed by the flood. Adam and Eve were given the same command to "replenish" because, with a high degree of probability, God's judgment in the form of a flood had also been passed upon the earth and its inhabitants.
As correctly pointed out by one of the responders to your post, the word "replenish" in Genesis 1:28 and "fill" in Genesis 1:22 are translated from the same Hebrew word. 8 And when he -the Lamb- had taken the book, the four beasts -living beings- and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:and we shall reign on the earth.- GOD's KINGDOM - Luke 20:35-36 and Revelation 11:v.15 to 18
24 ELDERS
Here goes the 24 elders showed in Revelation 4:v.4

5 - Nehemiah
6 - Job
7 - David
8 - Solomon
9 - Isaiah
10 - Jeremiah
11 - Ezekiel

14 - Joel
15 - Amos
16 - Obadiah
17 - Jonah

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning
before the throne, which are the SEVEN Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
(What are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.?
(But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.)
1 John 2:1
(My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:)
1 Thessalonians 4:17
(Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.) Any time we need an uplifting, we should always go to the Word of God, that is where we will find peace, comfort, and the answer to everything that is important. Prayers for all.
You've shared some great thoughts & Scriptures there & indeed "the lust of the flesh, & the lust of the eyes & the pride of life" ( 1 John 2:16), is the standard for the majority, instead of doing "justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God" ( Micah 6:8).
As Jesus spoke to the religious leaders, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do", it is only natural that those without the God of Heaven will cleave to the god of this world ( 2 Corinthians 4:4) who holds the hearts of men in his grip. As Satan's singular desire was to "ascend above the heights of the clouds (and to) be like the most High" ( Isaiah 14:14), so it is also found in his children that they too would behave like gods believing that no God exists, bar themselves.
One can only imagine that if societal laws didn't exist (however weak & often mis-applied they might be) & without the presence of Christ's Church & the outworking of the Holy Spirit through her, what would be the extent of man's lusts & wickedness & how unrestrained his sins would be, that would speedily bring about another Noahic-type deluge. Yet God's next judgement will be by fire ( 2 Peter 3:7) as His Anger can no longer be withheld. May the life-changing, spirit-renewing Gospel continue to go out, pulling many out of the fiery deceptions & snares of the Devil ( Jude 23). Keep that holy fire burning, Sister.
We can hardly imagine what the inhabitants on Earth (i.e. those still remaining on Earth after going through the Great Tribulation) would be experiencing mentally, emotionally & physically. That they stand looking up observing the sun & moon lose their light & the stars disappear - that is, a total constant darkness. And in that blackness of sky & Earth, the Lord of Glory appears in all His Glory & brilliant Light, with trumpet sound. In truth, many will experience heart attacks ( Luke 21:26) as great fear & horror envelopes them. But for those who have put their trust in Christ, His Return with the departed saints, will be their joy full & overflowing, ushering a period of a thousand years of peace & Christ's righteous rule.
Let our walk in Christ draw others to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus.
Many will not read the Word of God; but let them see it in us, as believers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God Bless everyone on this forum.
There are some things that no one knows or will know until that great day.
Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
10 A river went out of Eden to water the garden and from there it divided into four streams.11 The name of the first is Pishon; it winds throughout the land of Havilah, where there is gold.12 The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there.13 The name of the second river is Gichon;it winds throughout the land of Kush.14The name of the third river is Tigris;it is the one that flows toward the east of Ashur. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
The river that went out of Eden to water the garden was the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of GOD.It was an heavenly and wide and larger river, and this river exists until the current time and will exist for ever and ever,to the Eternity.
And the river of life divided in four streams, the water continues excelent, sparkling like crystal, and also gives life because the waters also flow from GOD's Throne to the river of the water of life, and after to the four streams, and the first stream is Pishon, something a rationed water for consumption, destined for a few, and not for all without exception. The majority did not have access to this pure water.I'm talking about the Word of God that was revealed during the Old Testament, from Moses to John the Baptist.Ah, the only peoples that benefited from this water was Israel, all other people did not have direct access to this pure and crystaline water.Read Numbers 20:1-29 and see the events caused because of this water.
The 2nd stream is the river Gichon. This is the water of life pure and crystaline from God's Throne for all nations through JESUS in the New Testament.JESUS said:whoever drinks the water I will give him will never be thirsty again! On the contrary, the water I give him will become a spring of water inside him, welling up into eternal life!"Jo.4:14
The 3rd stream is Tigris. Its water will be given now in this millennial Kingdom.
The 4th stream is Euphrates, after millnnial kin
Why does the KJV translate the last half of Job 17:6 in the past tense, but, other translations in the present?
If you use the past tense, then, Job is referring to how the people previously viewed and treated him.
If you use the present tense, then, it seems that Job is referring to how they treat him now.
Which is correct?
Thank you.
Spiritual discernment!!
Seeing the wolf but Knowing the Shepherd voice.
You know sometimes it's not just some deceiving others,
As you mentioned on a separate thread,
There is what we mistake to be the Holyspirit but our fleshly emotions gets us off track as well, It seems sometimes these emotions is drawn to another spirit, We get in trouble when we thrive for some presence or experience and get drawn in by the flesh by some super prayer or message.
But when you try the spirit you should be able to see Love instead of Apathy. Humility with Meekness instead of Pride, There should be some degree of longsuffering, forgiveness, ect.. and separation from worldliness.
We should examine ourselves likewise in this way,
We know the Holyspirit spirit causes us to Agape one another, that special connection is not with everybody.
As Jude said some has crept in from unawares.
This is where fruit is all important.
Now the problem is if by chance you are deceived or perhaps this other person you seem to view as an Apostate or deceived.
"one of you is a true believer and the other is not",
WE NEED TO BE SURE WE'RE NOT THE ONE ON THE OUTSIDE!!
Do we really Agape " totally given over to" the brethren?.
EXAMINE OURSELVES.
I don't think loving to minister is the same thing, Some love the praises.
DO YOU TRULY LOVE ( THE BRETHREN ).
One more thing,
You notice the Lord didn't say you know them by their gifts?
Examine ourselves as well as others by what's given to us. "Fruit"
We should humble ourselves and shine our light on who it was intended for.
The Lord Jesus Christ.
God bless.
