I was notified that someone replied to my comment to you but I could not find any comment but I did notice this reply on testing for DNA. That's rather short sighted, ain't it. David No need of a test; save your hundred dollars; but don't embarrass yourself if u are an adult or teenager by asking your mother father or grand parents; but on the second thought; why not' they will probably not take you serious as seniors are probably wiser and of course they can tell you a lot; You can learn from them but they may laugh if you ask them that thing; and of course you know if they had your mom or dad when they were babies; they never really found them under rocks and or the stork never really delivered them or me, the doctor did; and so you know the rest, if you are over 5 as they even learn it in kindergarden, David, no need of testing unless u can test Adam and eve or their descents as they say that there were only 10000 left 6000 years ago and we all descended from them. I don't know what happened to the rest; probably wars or disaster or something, maybe pollution and ecological disaster and or a collapse of the economy seems to be most likely and maybe space men drawings in caves shows that; and that we were here maybe many times before.

Greetings Rod, Jesus had picked 12 apostles and Judas hung himself. There were then only 11 apostles.

John 6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

I fail to find in scripture where the Lord told the apostles to choose a replacement for Judas as recorded here. They did this act on their own accord with out being told to do this.

Acts Chapter 1:24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all [men], shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

I am sure both of these men were faithful in the eyes of the 11, but still the Lord did not command them to do this thing. Saul / Paul however was a different story.

Acts 22:7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Saul who became Paul was chosen of the Lord himself.

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

I have had people deny Paul as an apostle and in doing so they must deny the book of acts and the book of 2 Peter which confirms Paul as a brother in Christ. This is usually those who claim to be into "Hebrew roots"

I find it interesting Paul was a learned scholar and was sent to the unlearned uncircumcised "Gentiles"

and Peter an unlearned fisherman was sent to the learned Jews, who knew scriptures.

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; These things humble me greatly.

    All glory to the Lord.

The Apostles creed (I believe) is not in the Bible. The Vatican wants us to believe they were responsible for it.

The Greek churches as well as Rome hammered out the Creeds.

    Part 3 NICENE CREED:

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

    [ John 15:26, John 16:13, John 14:26]

And I believe one holy catholic (catholic means universal, not Rome)

    and apostolic Church.

    [ Ephesians 4:5]

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

    [ Acts 19:4, Acts 22:16, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Mark 1:8, John 11:25, 1 Peter 1:3, Revelation 20:6]

I would like to correct something in "I don't accept that there are evolutionary processes going on.....but we classify that into different species. For example, we had no sewer rats before we had sewers; however; the rats found a new home there; and adapted (or evolved to become sewer rats); and so I guess you are right within species.

I got a bit mixed up; they did not evolve to become sewer rats. We just classified them to be sewer rats. All animals will adapt to live and survive and they take on new characteristics; and we do the same thing; but we are the same all over the world, people classified by their culture etc. We classify animals and then think they evolve. I don't like to talk about evolution and so maybe i could call it evilution, as that is what it seems to be to me. Sorry about my blunder on confusing the classification of species with evilution; and really the other people never evolved, They just live in different areas.

I did not C a reply to my "missing Link" comment; however, I think that this particular one relates more to Genesis rather than Acts 22, Bc the Bible and creation occurred much longer than 2000 years ago, and so I should reply there, to not take it out of context; and there are lots of things mentioned in the Bible; and it do mention Oceans, however it does not mention everything you can think of; and I would agree that mayB it does not mention the arctic, rain forest or Mars; but on second thought; it does as all that was created mostly for foods and other natural things, etc. So Genesis chapter 1 and 2 is where that is all in context; and of course man is amazing as he is or was, in the image of God; far above monkeys apes. and as for a limited perspective; God gave the breath of life to Adam, and man became a "living soul". There is no DNA basis for that. So, we have different views; and as far as I am concerned; mine has

the foundation; and of course we all have choice

The bible is crystal clear about spreading false doctrines of man. You may be fulfilling your own prophecy when you think you Know when the last days are. ONLY GOD KNOWS NOT EVEN THE SON KNOWS. So do me a favor and stop with your ideological stuff on the last days of mankind. If you need to prophecy do it somewhere else! Read the scriptures ,preferably the KJV. In the mean time if your objective is to fulfill the anti Christ purpose , please leave this website. This is exactly what you are doing when you do not trust in the word of GOD. namely JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH!

    Tracy,

Just one other thing I would like to share with you that I find fascinating is how the shepherds in Jerusalem would keep their sheep in a sheepfold at night to keep them safe from predators. There was only one sheepfold for all these sheep belonging to multiple shepherds, and only one door to this sheepfold. They put a guard at this door overnight to guard the sheep.

Every morning, the shepherds would come to get their sheep. The guard would not open the door unless he recognized the shepherd. Each shepherd, one by one, would call out to his sheep. And keep in mind that there are probably hundreds of sheep in this sheepfold. But only the ones who belonged to that particular shepherd would come out the door. The other sheep would not come out if they didn't recognize the voice of the one calling them.

I find it totally fascinating how this parallels with what Jesus says about His sheep!

A person who calls upon the Lord and surrenders their life to Christ, has their sins forgiven, past, present, and future. Paul gave instruction concerning apostasy in 1 Timothy 4:1-5. Paul expressed concern in Acts Chap. 20, for the church, that after he died, grievous wolves (false teachers) would enter in amongst the believers, not sparing the flock. He said men would arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Paul warns about apostasy, that false teachers would come into the church and deceive many, causing them to depart from the faith. So apostasy means to depart.

In 2 Thess. 2:3, Paul says let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come, (Tribulation period), except there come a falling away first. The term falling away is the word apostasy. In John 10:4-5, Jesus says His sheep know His voice, and they follow Him, and will not follow the voice of a stranger (False teacher/false profit). Therefore, a true believer cannot commit apostasy

a goldy Christian wife submits to her husband. She is supposed to be meek and quite, not a loud mouth, pushy woman, that is an embarassm, ent to her husband (especially in front of other people. A godly wife is not a thorn in his side. Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious (argumenative) and an angry woman.

It was a great discussion, very appropriate, and you did a great job. Thank you and as i usually say; also great to discuss it with parents and if they agree, with the leader or minister or priest; and it is always good to learn things.

    Have a great day.

I don't accept that there are evolutionary processes going on. I do accept that animals will go anywhere looking for food and or better environmental conditions or die if they can not adapt; and adaptations do allow for changes in the habits and appearance of the animal but we classify that into different species. For example, we had no sewer rats before we had sewers; however; the rats found a new home there; and adapted (or evolved to become sewer rats); and so I guess you are right within species. The same thing also happens to other species; however, I don't think it happens between animals as all that look the same are in the same category; and apart from that, I think that they are just lined up from the smallest to the biggest and thus said to go from being small things to big things; but that is not evolution
  • Peter - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
Your 15 and you are wondering what did we descend from. Well; Dalanie, I go with the Bible. So I would say Adam and Eve. The so called evidence on our ancestors being monkeys and apes is figments of their imagination where they take things from the remains of skull bones in geological layers of the earth and say that it indicates that our brains have changed to be like they are today and since the ape brain is something like ours; they think that we came from apes; but apes do not have a mind; and they can't account for that.

The Bible however does account for that. Some people try to prove it and others take it by faith; and I recommend that people take it by faith because try to prove it can lead to misunderstanding and people losing God, especially to concepts and ideas of evolution. Incidentally; at your age; you should also discuss it with your parents and keep them informed. As 4 schools teaching such things; they should also teach the flaws, to allow for proper thinking.

No parts are optional. You follow them all. Culture and society have trampled the Word of God. Women should STILL worship with their heads covered. The reason why they don't ??? Just like Israel did. And look what happened to Israel. God turned His back on them for millenium now. There are left to doing what is right in their own eyes, Just as AmeriKans are. And just as God did with Israel, for turning AWAY from the Lord their God, He is fixing to do the exact same with America and England. Just as a woman shall keep her silence in church 1 Cor 14:34, she should also worship with her head covered. 1 Cor 11:5 tells why.But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. If a woman worships with her head uncovered, she DISHONORETH her head (husband) and is an embrassment to him. The silence/head covering is designed by God to show a woman humility. Keeps her humble.

Women are NOT equal. They never were from the beginning.God made woman from a PART of man. Peter calls them the weaker vessel. if you aren't the same strength, then you are unequal. She was made to be a "help meet" , a wife for man; not a ruler, not a soverign, not a CEO, not a soldier, not a cop, but a keeper of the house. Weak men have given up their God given lordship due to feminism, what a shame. God used a woman judge (Deborah) and a housewife (Jael) ONE time in the Bible, in the same event no less, for the specific reason of being an embarrassment to a male king. That's all. Never another woman ruler. God told MEN to go to war, never did he tell WOMEN to go to war. The young girl that "kept the door of the tabernacle" was a one time job, her dad had to go and do a job inside the temple and she was the first person he saw to hold the door. Why is it that these days, women STRIVE to be better than men. What do they have to prove? That they are equal? They break God's law/order
  • Charles Hallam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
preaching is preaching, doesn't matter where it is. one on one , sharing their testimony and inviting them to Christ is what women should do, niot teach. You either have to take the Word of God as it is written, or just write your own Bible.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
  • Charles Hallam - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
Paul didn't get it wrong. God, thru Paul, said that women are not allowed to teach. Women can teach their children, that's it.

Most Bible-believing Christians don't believe in evolution. Genesis says how life began, and some people here are claiming things that are contradictory to scripture. Adapting is different than evolving into an entirely different species which no one has ever witnessed. Some claim that a bacterium does, but that's adapting. It would also be a stretch to claim that a larva into a butterfly is 'evolution'. It's metamorphosis is exactly as God designed it and His creation is absolutely amazing. So much so that mankind is without excuse for not believing as the evidence is all around us. Romans 1:20. It's unthinkable that people pretend that an explosion from nothing caused by nothing and designed by nothing made the most incredibly brilliantly made life and habitat designed better than the brightest human minds could ever imagine, then simultaneously male and female and food sources all were designed too. Amazing how easily people can be deceived into believing this.

  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
Yes Erma, a very sad story indeed. How foolish was Jephthah ( Judg 11:13-39) in making such a vow. I think, could he not have vowed to the LORD something else, knowing the likelihood of a family member coming through the door? And v 40 confirms her demise, in that "the daughters of Israel went each year to lament (the death) of Jephthah's daughter". Doesn't it speak to us about what we say or affirm to? Just to note: Adah is not mentioned as his daughter in the Bible; you may have picked it up from some extra-biblical source.
  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
David, I think we all accept that there will always be some evolutionary process going. You stated the long necks and legs of those animals. I even think of skin pigmentation or changes in our features. But, apart from our cognitive abilities which clearly separate man from animal, I believe that it is what God has made in His Creation that gives us the only real distinction. They are: Gen 1:26,27. We are made in God's Image with His Qualities (until the Fall) whereas animals were made separately with characteristics suited for their survival. Yes, we all return to dust from whence we came, but God's creative work was separate & specific for each of His Creation. Secondly, Lk 9:55; Jn 4:23,24; Acts 7:59; 17:16; Rom 1:9; 8:16 & many more refs. speak of a spirit in us (not referring to the Holy Spirit). This spirit is given to all humans, NOT animals, so that we can exist on an 'higher' plane, having the communication lines open between our Creator & His creation.
  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 22 - 6 years ago
David, I think it depends on how you view equality. If through the eyes of the present, then yes, both the Quran & the Bible are out of step with gender equality. Having ministered in an Islamic country, I can state that the Islam does treat women equally, BUT on THEIR terms & understanding of their scriptures. I don't agree with it naturally (from a Christian viewpoint), but they need to abide by its requirements until such time they find their freedom in Christ. For the Christian woman, again if the matter is considered on purely a cultural basis, also the head covering issue, then they can appear offensive. What about a male covering his head? But our Scriptures do give a clear reason & it is not to belittle women in any way: it starts in 1 Cor 11:3; 14:34,35 (specifically): relating the spiritual significance & order of creation. True, many today pay little regard to such verses, but then the question: which parts of the Bible do I choose to practise & which parts are optional?

    Hi Dalanie,

No offense taken, thanks for getting back to me.

History is a study of the past based on rigorous examination of the recorded evidence. When the people wrote the bible passages two thousand years ago, they did not have the tools we have today. Hence people's ability to write history was somewhat limited an anny attempt to record history fell into the category of mythology, usually written with very limited field of vision, and based around a very limited culture. For example, the Bible has no knowledge of the ice cap, the arctic, the rain forest, of Mars, or the deep ocean. Its written by people with very limited perspective.

Fortunately, today we can travel, we can examine the earth's crust, we can run tests on rocks and bones. We can do amazing things. Or we an close our eyes and repeat what we were told to believe when we were just kids.

The great thing is we have choice, and with choice, we can read and learn outside of what we ha been told is the

    Be well

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for that. I guess this is where Christianity meets Islam. I understand that Muslims are also against women being equal. They try to make it look OK by saying that women are equal 'just in another way'. Is that how Christians see it as well? And in the Jewish religion? Maybe that has something to do with the region and time in history where these three religions succeeded one another?

In my case my mother, sister and daughter are all better educated and sure are much smarter than me! I guess if we had a church it would be them leading the discussion.

Do you think maybe Paul was talking about how things were then in the Middle East, 2,000 years ago? Do we ever ask why? Would keeping women down work well today in London or NYC? Could that lead a a lot of very unhappy women? Even unhappy men? Seems unnecessary and I cannot think of a good reason for it..

to David Orren i was just wondering, were the Missing Links on the idea of evolution ever solved. It was discussed in the 1960. The idea was that there is such a big difference in the humans and apes and other animal in for example what we could do compared with other animals, how could the brain of other animals account for that? There is no comparison with animals even if there is just a slight difference in the DNA. Our brains are much bigger, i think; and of course, we have a Mind. I think that all that they have done for the last 4 generation is just teach that it is so. Education is turning out identical clones, everyone thinking the same, U never hear anyone mention the missing links.
