I think we need to master the whole book of Acts of the Apostles, and stop trying to be God. We are no match for the god of this world, with out the true God and His Son Jesus Christ. Wake up Christians!
I believe Acts 6 4 is the glue that help hold the body of Christ together and the work of the ministry. So one must be committed body, soul, and spirit, for without God we can do nothing. We are but an instrument to be use by GOD.
The apostles believed in the church and in the fear of God. When they asked the church to pick seven men among themselves, they knew it will be done with reference unto God and the people elected managed to calm down the complaints which were in the cam. They applied the wisdom and obidince to God and that's why they were able to settle issues. It is all by the spirit of God.

Deut 34:9, "And Joshua, the son of Nun was full of the Spirit of Wisdom; for Moses had LAID HIS HANDS UPON HIM: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and he did as the Lord commanded Moses." Acts 6:6, "These they set before the apostles, and after they had prayed they LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM". Acts 9:17, "...and LAYING HIS HANDS UPON HIM, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me" Acts 8:17, "Then they LAID THEIR HANDS ON THEM and they received the Holy Spirit." Acts 13:3, "Then having fasted and prayed and LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM, they let them go." 2Tim 1:6, "For this reason I admonish thee to stir up the grace of GOD which is in thee, BY THE LAYING ON OF MY HANDS."
1Ti,m 4:14 "Do not neglect the grace that is in thee, granted to thee by reason of prophecy with the LAYING ON OF HANDS of the presbyterate." [PRIESTS] Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take.
This same rite was practiced in the early Church and continues to this day, The Bishop, by the 'LAYING ON OF HANDS', conveys a succession of Priests and Bishops with a commission, giving them the authority to perpetuate the Church which Jesus Christ founded. Apostalic Succession & only one Church can lay claim to it. The Catholic Church
I am so glad that Peter Stated That these men Should meet the qualifications of God otherwise the work could have been hindered by men who would have thought it right to take unholy advantage of these women.
just look at the Acts you will notice that from the theday of Pentecost up to this point most of the events had supernaturallly done Peter and John healing the lame man The apostles taken out of the jail with the guards standing out side. The possiblity of Stephen shining is in keeping wiht what was happening in eaely church.
Stephen's name itself means, ‘’The Crowned One’’, even unto death he trusted God, and it was an honour to him to die, in battle for Jesus. Jesus said you will know my sheep by the fruit they produce. I truly love you lord, thank you
I love it,He was close to God's heart and Christ was by his side, what better faith can one man be to speak the very truth unto death. At work think of this and partake in his widom as it is given freely from whom ever seeks it. There is but one true God even unto death, and there will never be another.The glory of God was given again unto the world but yet it can not except it, how great it most be to truly be a servent unto death and ask GOD for there sins of what yhey did unto him I try to imagin this love and strive to be like this man in his walk with GOD through CHRIST JESUS the true son of GOD.
I think they chose the leaders like we should choose our leaders in the church & country that are of good report.he ones that will stick to what is honest &good right with the Lord...I am 85
