Page 5 of the article: I understand that Ironside is stating that our perseverance in the faith is not according to the power of our mind or will, but in concert with the Holy Spirit's enabling & persevering with us. God in us will do everything to enable His child to live for Him, deal with sin as it confronts us & walk as the redeemed of God. If I lived in such a manner in my own power, I would certainly fail as the flesh cannot combat the spiritual forces working against me - it has to be the Holy Spirit that empowers us ( Philippians 2:13; Ephesians 3:20). But if we're not 'committed to living the Christian life' in unabashed rampant sin, then the question remains, 'are we even saved'? Would God be so gracious to send forth His Spirit to reside in us to seal & secure us, & then say, 'O dear, I think I erred, let's get back out of that residence?' And if we then come to our senses & repent, that His Spirit returns back to us - maybe again & again? I never see the Spirit's movement as that of a yo-yo - once residing in the truly saved person, He's there to stay & keeps us saved & living for the Lord. That's why it behoves us never to judge one another - we simply cannot know another's spiritual condition with all certainty - but the Lord knows those who are His.

c. Page 7: Here, Ironside speaks of having eternal life now, "I am a Christian now if I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; believing on Him I have eternal life". He then says that he has it in a dying body, waiting for the redemption of that body. When that body sees its (completed) redemption, he will experience that eternal life (he had on Earth) in all its fullness "spirit, soul and body, entirely conformed to Christ". It is in this sense, that he has hope of eternal life - not just the assurance when on Earth, but now in fullness, with the Lord ( 1 John 5:11-13; Ephesians 1:4-14).

Hi Gigi The answer to one of your questions is in 2 Timothy which is a leadership epistle, chapt. 1:13-15 Paul states all asia has turned away from sound doctrine. This guy was given the knowledge of the operation of the body of Christ in the age of grace Ephesians 3:1-7. That is an unbelievable because he witnessed in acts to all asia in 2 years and 3 months, and except for a handle full of believers they all were practicing doctrines of men. This was written less than 70 years after the birthday of the church. So how bad since then has the corruption of other doctrine have gotten. Its really something to think about. Yes I read the the Church Epistles a lot written to the Church of God not saying i don't learn a ton in the Gospels or the rest, and too boot it all fits like a well fitting wet suit!

Hello GiGi, What I meant was that there is only one gospel that can save mankind today, and that is the gospel of grace ( Acts 20:24 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 That Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Appropriated by faith alone apart from the Mosaic law ( Romans 3:20,21) The gospel of grace and doctrines for the body of Christ, the Church, was a secret ( Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3: 1-11) hidden in the mind of God until revealed to the apostle Paul. In other words, between the time God called Abraham and the calling of the apostle Paul, there was no message of salvation to the Gentile world ( Ephesians 2:11,12). The gospel of grace is most clearly defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Hi Gigi What she is talking about the mystery of the one body of Jews in Gentiles in christ the knowledge of it was given to Paul in this the age of grace. Now the operation of it started on Pentecost, this as Paul wrote was hid in God, the prophets did not know it the original 12 apostles operated it but Paul was given the information by Jesus Christ after he ascended to heaven. Galatians 1:11+12, Ephesians 3:1-4, 1 Peter 1:10-12, the spiritual abilities we have are so great in 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 if the adversary who is the great prince of this world would have known what we who believe were given he would not have crucified our lord. That is what Angela is talking about, Romans through thessalonians is written to the church of God, not saying the gospels are not important its all Gods Word.

Precious friends, I would agree with the 'decision by conscience,' since God Does Give believers a 'sound mind!' 2 Timothy 1:7 As with my rule of 'Sound Doctrine' of studying ALL of The Scriptures, may the LORD help me 'Carefully Consider' ALL of the medical Evidence of Toxicity vs SAFETY of ALL of the 'clinical' trials of NEW experimental medicines (and pending lawsuits?), and the advice of my family's expert physician of what is or is not for us. Hi Dorothea These are the scripture then you decide I choose to let Gods Word speak for itself. In the Gospel of luke 4:6 The devil says to jesus Christ all this power and glory of them speaking of the kingdoms of the world will I give thee for that was delivered unto me. Carefully notice it does not says ownership it says ruler there is a major difference. Also in 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those that believe not. Also Ephesians 6:12 for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers again notice power. Now in Genesis Gods arch enemy satan knew that God gave dominion and power to Adam and in Genesis 3 that dominion and power was handed to serpent [figure of speech magnifying his slyness] i.e. the devil by making them believe his lie so he stole the power and glory of creation from Adam because they believed His word instead of Gods Word. Meaning God said thou shalt surely die the serpent thou shalt not surely die. They died spiritually they lost there spiritual connection with God and power over His Creation. He DID NOT INHERIT THE POWER OF THE WORLD. Now with what Jesus Christ accomplished for the believer when born again that power has been bought back for us in Christ Jesus when we walk by the spirit. Ephesians 3: Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the POWER that worketh in us.

Note the 'Contrast' of Matthew 7:21-23, where "Those That 'are Not His'" He Has "NEVER KNOWN" them. Plain and Clear, Correct?

My 'suggestion,' after you are saved, and have 'received The Holy Spirit for understanding,' would be to 'start reading' Romans Through Philemon {God's GRACE Message for Today}, and then 'learn {probably slowly} as you read The Rest Of The Bible!'

Romans 15:4

"For Whatsoever Things Were Written Aforetime Were Written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of The Scriptures might have Hope." Amen?
