Discuss Ephesians 4 Page 5

    Hi Aljenon.

    I would say the spirit.

    Ephesians 4:4-6. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

    One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

    One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

    GOD IS A SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24.

    I CAME FORTH FROM THE FATHER, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. John 16:28.

    No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, WHICH IS IN THE BOSOM OF THE FATHER, he hath declared him. John 1:18.

    God is spirit, Jesus came forth from that Spirit, and we are baptized by that spirit.

    John 17:22-23. ppAnd the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

    I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

    Dear Luke

    1 Corinthians 12:7-11

    "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal(it means the church).

    For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

    To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

    To another the working of miracles; to another PROPHESY; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

    But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."

    Ephesians 4:11

    "And he gave some, apostles; and some, PROPHETS; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"

    The above gifts and ministries are to work inside the church, the Body of Christ, not outside individually. My opinion...

    Part 1

    Hello Delilah.

    I am sorry to make you sad (also others) but I think that my post has been misunderstood.

    I don't mean that somebody has to be a scholar to teach or explain the Word of God. Most of the 12 were uneducated people. God selects all sort of people for His purpose, educated and uneducated. Even if somebody on this site has a university degree, I think there are only few that have studied in Bible Schools of have a University Degree in Theological Studies. Many here are educated but in fields foreign to the Word of God, so their education (like mine) is completely useless when studying the Bible.

    There are churches that demand a Degree from people to select them as pastors or elders. I know some. Not my church. The pastor in my church repairs cars for a living and many elders are just simple workers in factories.

    Any person can be selected by God to become a minister. But be careful, A MINISTER. If it was adequate for a believer to stay and study only on their own, why did God place ministries in the church? The answer is so clear in Ephesians 4:11-15. Please read those verses carefully. They say that the work to teach and explain the Word of God is given by God to the church, to the ministers. Of course God reveals to everybody His Word to a various extent, but those revelations are to be worked inside the church, not individualy outside the church. God has placed an order, an hierarchy. A Body.

    What I wanted to point out is the wrong attitude many christians have that they think the church can be substituted by a one- person-church. So they go like this. Me "PLease God what does that mean...?" God "Well child, that means..". This is a wrong attitude, it doesn't work like this. Or it works to an extent, the main preaching is through the church. It is not good for us to stay alone, we must inegrate ourselves in a congregation we choose we 'd like to be members of.

    Part 1

    Hello dear brothers/sisters.

    Some thoughts...

    John 14:26

    "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you".

    The above verse is often misinterpreted by many christians mainly in the reborn section of christianity, since the main stream denominations have a solid and unchangable theology(R or W). Many believers take the above verse especially the phrase "he (the Holly Spirit) shall teach you all things" as something that happens personally to individuals. So they(we) think that every thought, explanation, interpretation,etc that pops in our mind is literally given by the Spirit. We claim that we have a genuine love to understand the Word of God, so God replies back to our search for His truth, by revealing His truth to every person that looks for that Truth. But is that so? Does that is that is meant by the above verse? Well, not really. If that was the case then everybody would come to the same result. But what we see in practice is that there are so many and so much different beliefs between us that they are often like the day infront of night. But why? Isn't God's Word not right? Isn't that a promise from God? So what is happening? We often attribute the various beliefs to a non genuine love for the truth, manipulating verses to fit our own ideas, ignorance sometimes of the Word of God and many other that we like to think that others do, not us.

    The truth is that the above verse is applicable TO THE CHURCH, not to any individual. God has placed the ministries in the church like pastors, teachers, apostles, evangelists, prophets to ... Ephesians 4:12-14 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ ...".

    The birth of the Apostles.

    UPON THIS ROCK I SHALL BUILD MY CHURCH.

    He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

    And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU ART THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. Matthew 16:15-16

    Ephesians 2:19-20 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    And are built upon the FOUNDATION OF THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, Jesus Christ himself being the chief CORNER STONE;

    In Luke 6:13 we see that Jesus chose who he would name Apostles.

    "And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

    The question is when did the disciples start operating in the office of Apostles?

    When was the foundation laid?

    1 Corinthians 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

    Are we capable of building with gold, silver and precious stone without the dwelling of the Holyspirit?

    We do know in Matthew 28:16-17 even after Jesus resurrected the disciples still doubted.

    "Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

    And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted."

    In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus commissioned them to go out to all the world but not to depart from Jerusalem until they were filled with the Holyspirit.

    Acts 1:4-5. Luke 24:49.

    I believe not until they were filled with the Spirit that rock the church was built on begun. The disciples began to function in the office as Apostles.

    Ephesians 4:10-12. He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

    AND HE GAVE SOME, APOSTLES; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

    For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

    He didn't do this until he ascended.

    God bless.

    To the saints on this site:

    1 Corinthians 4:5 speaks volume to us since saints understand the mysteries revealed to the faithful and Romans 1:6 & Romans 8:28. For saints know Isaiah 5:20. We are where we are today. God is so great to allow us to do things in life in our own free will where in the end The Glory belongs to God. God allowed me to have worked with great scientists in America with great heart. I do not need to understand and question everything at the spare of the moment. I just know the paths God lead me in was not to question authorities in the land. God has the heavenly plans and those are what I am and every saint must be very excited about. When you walk in the Spirit of God, you are like in a trance. Next thing you know someone tells you on earth job well done. Not to boast but again and again to Glorify God because He helped you to do job well done. I can control only me and hopefully have a strong influence with my family and friends and anybody that touches my life to follow God as I walk the walk and talk the talk. Even 1 Timothy 5:4 saints take it to heart. All is good with God James 1:17 and all are Your's 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. I know It is easy said and done here on earth. We all have afflictions and to some unbearable 2 Corinthians 6:4. I thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ for that power is in everyone who put his trust, faith and believe in that He will never leaves you. Psalms 91 memorize!

    The Spirit speaks to you 1 Peter 3:13, 3 John 1:11. Be in Spirit so you can 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and 1 Thessalonians 5:15. Philippians 2:13 and Ephesians 1:9. Saints, Ephesians 4:29

    There are more heavenly things I can share but I like to inspire you with this testimony Colossians 1:27. Let us all grow in true Charity 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, the bond of perfectness Colossians 3:14. In conclusion 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Happy Sunday with the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to ALL.
  • Luke - The Temple Tantrum/Righteous Anger - 2 years ago
    Righteous Anger / Christian Disciplines / by Oliver

    Many people are surprised that Jesus showed anger in this way, although Jesus was very patient and taught to turn the other check, there is also a time for righteous anger, and Jesus demonstrated this against the money changers.

    There are times when you are wronged and get to turn the other cheek, but there are also moments when you see an injustice in the world and we as Christians can fight against it.

    Jesus was upset with those using the Temple, his father's house, to cheat people.

    In today's world, we see injustices like human trafficking or abuse. We know these occurrences are wrong and go against what the Bible says, this gives us the opportunity to fight against these injustices.

    Jesus is perfect, he never sinned. He was not sinning when he was angry in the Temple. We see Jesus as an example of righteous anger.

    In your anger do not sin.

    Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

    27 Neither give place to the devil.

    Amen Brother.

    Ephesians 5:1-2. BE YE THEREFORE FOLLOWERS OF GOD, AS DEAR CHILDREN;

    AND WALK IN LOVE, AS CHRIST ALSO HATH LOVED US, AND HATH GIVEN HIMSELF for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

    Isn't that amazing Love! Christ did this whilst we were yet sinners! Ye didn't say only if you straighten yourself up I will die for you.

    He died in our place while we were yet sinning.

    He made salvation possible for the worst sinners ever, To all who come to him!

    Paul says "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

    be ye therefore followers of God as dear children and walk in love as Christ has also loved us and hath given himself. Ephesians 4:32-5:1-2.

    Her we see Love, Mercy, forgiveness, kindness displayed by the Lord.

    We can't achieve this on our own. This comes by being connected to the true vine! John 15.

    This is NOT expected from the world but if you are a child of God you should be able to exhibit this, especially amongst brothern.

    This is not saying you shouldn't rebuke an apparent apostate.

    I'm saying a supposed brother shouldn't display hatred towards another brother over doctrine, especially when that doctrine holds truth.

    It reminds me of John 8:43-47.

    You may not agree with someone when they speak truth but the spirit in you want cause you to hate the one that speaks it! And likewise if they're not.

    1 John 4:20.

    God bless brother.

    2 Timothy 2:15 is a powerful verse. If we do not learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, we will be lost understanding the chain of events from the time God brought the Hebrews from the Land of Egypt until The Christ Lord Jesus died on the cross up to our time today which is approximately 2,000 years. Honestly, we do not have time. As you all noticed the rapid days go by quickly as God says 2 Peter 3:8 and you see Psalms 2:1-12

    I do not mind repeating to all that the Bible is a complete book Revelation 19:13 for us today to prepare ourselves and others. I pray all to be saved. We cannot have the people caught unaware of Matthew 24:37. To rightly divide is to know for us today what we need to do. So I will say that the 11 apostles messages are important for the physical Jews Matthew 10:5-7 at the end time; and there are verses in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John that pertains to a spiritual Christians of today.

    God had chosen Paul to be His vessel so we can read and believe not in vain. Study the Book of Romans to Philemon because he was the Last and believe it or not the 12th Apostle Galatians 1:1, Acts 9:15, Acts 13:47, Acts 22:21, Roman's 11:13, Ephesians 3:8, 1 Timothy 2:7, Galatians 1:16. After Jesus died He says Hebrews 9:14-17. Then you are Ephesians 1:12-14, 2 Timothy 2:19 and 2 Corinthians 1:22. Therefore, 1 Corinthians 9:2 just like Romans 15:28. Ephesians 4:30 and sing Psalms 49:8, 111:9, 130:7. In conclusion my fellow-believers, Paul is sealed 1 Corinthians 9:2 by God to be our apostle today. Weneedtoputtheworkof Paul not in vain Galatians 6:11. Paul tells us Romans 2:16, Romans 16:25, 2 Timothy 2:8. And the gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Then we are sealed Ephesians 1:13. Perhaps you are not understanding me because Revelation 18:4, Proverbs 20:1, Roman's 7:11, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Galatians 6:7, 1 Timothy 2:14, 2 Timothy 3:13, Titus 3:3, and lastly Revelation 18:23. Psalm 37:1-40 then we meditate Psalms 27:1-3. Shalom/Agape.

    George. My thoughts on this are I 'm thankful that by God's grace(divine

    Favor God to man) that when he saw fit sent messengers I.E. Angels to stand

    And fight or teach or minister people who were endeavoring to believe to bring

    His will to pass. Also since spirit beings don't procreate what's the point of

    Female angels or better yet what difference would it make, another point just

    Because there never mentioned in scripture doesn't mean they don't exist.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Ephesians 4 - 2 years ago
    Hi Delilah,

    I, too, believe that the angels were created before the creation of the physical universe. I think that God created the spiritual "universe" first. It says in the Word that the sons of god (angels) rejoiced with God when He created the earth, singing with joy. (can't find the Scripture right now). The rebellion and fall of Satan and the other angels happened after the physical universe was created, I believe, but before creatures and humans were created

    Jesus said that the angels do not marry in heaven. So, in that realm, which is wholly spiritual, there is no marriage nor procreation. Angels are God's messengers, protectors of humans, warring against evil angels and forces, and praisers of God. They do not accept any worship for themselves, nor do anything other than what God's will is for them to do.
  • Giannis - In Reply on Ephesians 4 - 2 years ago
    Helo George

    Angels do not have a sex, male or female. But in both Hebrew (malak) and Greek (angelos) those nouns are of masculine gender. So this is probably the reason they are presented as males in the Bible.. In both Hbr and Grk this word means messenger.
  • Delilah - In Reply on Ephesians 4 - 2 years ago
    Personally , I believe that the angels were created by God before He created Adam and Eve . Adam was made in the image of God , I believe God is masculine and doesn't have a feminine counterpart . God created Eve to be a complimentary partner for Adam . God and His angels don't need a partner . Women were created as partners for men . It doesn't bother me what gender angels are , in Christ we are one , there is no male or female . Angels do not biologically procreate . Also , we can be angels to each other , as men or women , God can use us to deliver His message or give practical help to others whichever gender we are . I'm a single woman so no human male has any direct power over me , my pops is dead . God and Jesus are my bosses and I'm very glad they are . Most of the time in this world I would definately identify myself as a feminist , however God is my life , my breath , my peace , my strength and my comfort . Without His love and mercy I'm done for . Christ is my sinless redeemer . I'm very happy to say that they are in charge of me and I'm also happy to be unmarried in this world .

    I don't know of any place in the bible that says that. There are several places however that tell us that we are to forgive our enemies. Also, forgiveness does go both ways. Here are a few verses that might help you out:

    Matthew 18:21-22

    Matthew 18:15

    Myfarewellmessagetothissite Matthew 10:14, Luke 9:5. God tells me to go back and convince one more time the people reading this site-must know that God sent his only begotten Son to destroy sins. He died once for all of us Galatians 3:28 in a very powerful way. A pattern that is similar in the Old Testament-sacrificial shedding of blood of the lamb. God knows we cannot save ourselves. So we need a Saviour Jesus Christ. He did it for us All. My prayers are to help everyone understand this basic concept and many will be saved. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. We do not believe in vain, nor we put the work of ALL apostles, most especially Paul who was the last apostle to write plethora of information for everyone to be saved. Remember the Bible is complete by itself. God gave us a free gift of grace Romans 5:15-18. The ten Commandments are for us to see how sinful we are. That is why Paul calls it a schoolmaster Galatians 3:24-25. So when you believe, trust and have faith in Jesus Christ's blood that He shed for our sins Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10 we die with Him Galatians 2:20. That is the baptism without submerging yourself into the water Acts 1:5, Acts 10:47,Roman's 6:3, Galatians 3:27, 1 Corinthians 10:2. We are not divided Christians 1 Corinthians 1:13-16, 1 Corinthians 12:13. Once you are saved you are sealed Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 1:22, John 6:27. Jesus sent Paul to seal us Gentiles Romans 15:28. So grieve not Ephesians 4:30. When the Holy Spirit is in you you do not want to commit sin, if you do, you are letting your old self to dominate your spirit. We are walking in the Spirit of God. God already won. Do not let Satan defeat you (on going Spiritual warfare) that is why let every thought to be with God 2 Corinthians 10:5. I came back to fulfill with the help of the Holy Spirit to ask that you trust only Jesus and not yourself here on earth. Let Jesus do the rest. It is indeed true OSAS.Sealed is sealed.You reap what you sow on earth. Peace&joy to ALL.

    I did a thorough study on when Jesus died. It was very interesting that men follows the traditions of men. Paul already warned us in Colossians 2:8

    I personally confirmed that Jesus died on Wednesday. Just as the pattern of a wonderful God has created a day, so understanding that a day starts in the evening and the morning Genesis 1:5. Then next a great God gave the Jews a great and only sign of Jonah 1:17 and Matthew 12:40 a prophetic sign of when Jesus will die, buried and resurrected for 3 days and 3 nights. Our God is such a great Intelligent Designer so that the true believers will not be deceived tossed to and fro ( Ephesians 4:14) by any so-called Religious Christian Deceivers. So by knowing this you will know who is lying to you and to stay away from this cult. Revelation 18:4

    It was also a perfect match on the day of Passover and the Sabbath. Noticed the day Mary went to the tomb and her preparation of her spices. I will leave a room for you to study.

    So anybody says Jesus died on Friday, it is fake news they are making you a merchandised 2 Peter 2:3; Revelation 18:11; Revelation 18:12 Stay away immediately if they do not listen to the truth. The truth will set you free. John 14:6. The greatest and intelligent thing God said is that there is no other interpretation in the word of God. So if you do not get it you must be a lost person and not saved or just not reading your Bible enough. I do want ALL to be saved 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I just hate the Nicolaitans (2X) Revelations 2:6; Revelation 2:15. Beware of many modern Pharisees.

    Main thing is that we true believers 1 John4:2-3; 2 John 1:7 should not be divided 1 Corinthians 1:10; Luke 11:17. We need each other Romans 12:4; 1 Corinthians 12:12 & 20

    We are truly in the last days. Psalms 2:1-12. God wants everybody to understand The Word of God. Many of you will not believe. It is expected. Many will meet Jesus in the cloud 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. See you soon.

    Hi Renee.

    In a way you we lost our salvation win Adam sinned. Romans 5:12. There is no way we can redeem ourselves. Isaiah 64:6. Without focusing on what the filthy rags are, have you ever tried cleaning with one? Our salvation is not in our hands. Our salvation and Sanctification is in the Lords hands.

    If our lack of perfection couldn't achieve salvation, how is our lack of perfection going to keep salvation? or obtain it again if we lost it.

    If you have ETERNAL LIFE you have it NOW.

    John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY HAND.,

    When we are saved we are sealed.

    Ephesians 4:30. And grieve not the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, WHEREBY YE ARE SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.

    It's God spirit in you, you may and will grieve him but he will never forsake you. Hebrews 13:5.

    God bless.

    Soul sleep debunked part 2.

    There are some who mention the fact that we have passed from death to life ( 1 John 3:14); and other verses justifying that we have already experienced the "first resurrection". This; again is an eschatological attempt at justifying that there is no Millennial period (i.e. the church age fulfills all the prophecies); which is not the focus of analysis here.

    There is validity in seeing the basic principle of Genesis 2:17 and its repercussions. Clearly; there was immediate spiritual death that occurred; and a later physical death that resulted from the ensuing corruption to the flesh that the fall set in motion. For a believer; we are sealed until the day of redemption ( Ephesians 4:30). He promises never to "leave or foresake us" ( Deut. 31:8; Hebrews 13:5).

    We have a great "cloud of witnesses" ( Heb. 12:1-2) that are further described in the chapter. We have a High Priest now that ever intercedes ( Heb. 7:25 and other verses in that book). The basic idea here is that we are always "married to Christ" ( Romans 7:4). Because of these promises; we see that our physical resurrection si merely a process; simply in reverse of what happened in the garden. Our glorification is simply a done deal in God's mind after salvation along with sanctification ( Romans 8:30). In God's eyes; we were known from eternity and part of His plan ( Genesis 3:15). Therefore; it is all grace that saved Adam's helpless race.

    Sharlene. God's desire is for us to believe by love and trust not force or make

    Us that's not love motivation. That's why in the church Epistles we read

    Romans ,13;9,+ 13:13, Ephesians 4:28,29,31 also ,Phil.,2:4 and ,Col.4:6 the reason

    It's let because as we read believe and do we will change because we are

    Letting His sword work in us to do his good pleasure.

    Hello ira The biggest challenge with great revival is getting churches or believers together focused to be

    likeminded in the same goal and I don't see that happening because of all the different belief systems I.E.

    denominational thought. In the u.s. alone their are 2,000 denominations yet in Ephesians 4:1-6 states one

    lord one faith one baptism one God one saviour one spirit. It will be a great day spiritually when we get

    that right.
