I don't know so much if Lucifer was directly below God but he was the most beautiful and anointed. Maybe he was 2nd in charge but I doubt it. I'll let you know when I find out.

God is the One who created everything. The devil was the highest ranking angel, directly below God, until he chose to rebel. God created him, and they are not at all equal in power.

Verse 12:Moses wanted to help his people but he went about it the wrong way. We must do things God's way if we truly want to be successful.

Stanjett - When you read farther Exodus 6:20 tells us "And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses".

It don't name Pharaoh's daughter either. May I see her in heaven and thank her for caring for Moses.
  • Stanjett on Exodus 2 - 6 years ago
1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. It never names these two. Father and Mother of Moses.
  • Stanjett on Exodus 2 - 6 years ago
And his sister Miriam stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

Some had two names. Simon Peter for one.

Verse 11 tells us that breather is used to represent your own people because the Egytian is not Moses breather. Also, the last verse tells us that God remembers the covenant he made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

To Giulo Figlio no typo, the Bible has no errors. Exodus 2:15-18 Now the priest of Midian...And when they came to Reuel their father, Reuel is Moses father-in-law and in Exodus 3:1 he is called "Jethro" the priest of Midian... Numbers 10:29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel,"Jethro" the Medianite, Moses' father-in-law,... No typo's no errors!
  • Giulo figlio on Numbers 10 - 8 years ago
10:29, I think Hobab is moses' brother-in-law, son of Reuel, the midianite. Big typo here. I checked the hebrew torah, exodus 2:18, and numbers 10:29, the name for Reuel in hebrew is spelled the same way. So here in 10:29 should say Reuel and not Raguel.
  • Jotwyla Moore on Exodus 2 - 8 years ago
I've read that Jethro is a title meaning "most excellent". Reuel is his name. He was a priest.

Verse 9: Moses had a chance to learn about his history and where he came from because he was nursed by his mother.
  • Lu2677 on Exodus 2 - 9 years ago
Darrell, Exodus 2:16-18 "Priest of Median" is Reuel, he has 7 daughters, one is named Zipporah. V:21 Reuel gave Zipporah to Moses for his wife. Ex. 3:1 Reuel is called Jethro for the first time, it does not say why the name change. Ex. 18:2 Jethro, Moses father in law took his daughter Zipporah back when Moses returned her. In the next few verse we see Moses was in the wilderness.

Darrell; I'm sure there are some very smart old books where we can get a good and thorough answer to that question; I speculate that they were simply two names, like, 'John Smith,' or perhaps it was something in the languages? Good question! I like that Moses was still humble and respectful toward his father-in-law, and of his spirituality; receiving his guidance and wisdom in handling the people
  • Darrell on Exodus 2 - 9 years ago
Why is it that we find Moses father-in-law's name in verse 18 as Reuel but in the commentary it states Moses was married to the daughter of Jethro.

“And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.”
    2 Kings 13:23
“And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.”

Some comments on the following pgs. for ch. 2 - say that Moses killed a Hebrew; Moses killed an Egyptian, not a Hebrew.

" Ex. 2: 5, when did it change from a basket made of reeds to a ark among the flags? Why are you changing what the KJV actually said?

This is actually the same thing the original King James says. flags is another word for reeds. Ark just means safe place to avoid extinction... similar to the ark of the covenant, and obviously Noah's Ark.

Ex. 2: 5, when did it change from a basket made of reeds to a ark among the flags? Why are you changing what the KJV actually said? How many other verses have you changed and no one noticed ? You should be a shame to change Gods word like that . You should at least put a foot note to show what the original KJV said . I am very disappointed and will have to check now or use another site

Purpose preserves life. Moses purpose was to lead the Israelites out of bondage (Egypt) therefore God preserved his life and prepared him for leadership in the courts of Phaorah.
