Because of Abraham's obedience a Nation was born that wd become as the sands of the seas in multitude which was an allegory that God wd offer up his only son CHRIST JESUS resulting in an Israel of GOD,ITS God himself that wants a posterity, A lil one shall be come a 1000 and a small one a strong nation I the lord will hasten it in its time which is the Israel of GOD THE H.G. PLURAL born in humanity that woman in Rev 12 is humanity ya remember Jesus said the field was the world where that good seed wd be sown impling humanity God so loved the world etc. Jesus said smite the shepherd and the sheep willl be scattered then i will turn my hand to the lil ones impling multiplication, th PROMISE GB
When god made that promise to abraham about multiplication he swore by his very self meaning he was gonna multiply his very self in humanity via the seed of christ which is the living word, thats y jesus is saying to whom the word/seed came it made them gods and that which is born of the spirit is spirit as god is spirit which is the h.g.the promise child ( our new innerman has to be born in us ) which is the h.g. th promise child that good seed is his word his breath thats y jesus refers to the h.g. as the promise he is the multiplcation of god in us sinners th world etc.jesus cd not refer to the h.g. as the promise if he were not the multiplication of god. seeds always results in a birth.
Jerry the trinity is the very kingdom of god as abraham offered up his only son isaac so did god almighty offer up his only son christ jesus thats what abraham means exaulted father thus abraham issac and jacob are a perfect picture of the kingdom of god which is father son and granson that is gona initiate the israel of god a greater israel then abrahams seed a heavenly israel th kingdom of god.
Jewish Society is based upon a Patriarchal Male system. God promised Abraham, because he listened to his Voice, that through his seed all Nations would be Blessed. Genesis 22:18
Just as abraham issac and jacob were father son and granson that resulted in the nation of israel the sand by the seas that promise that god made to abraham etc the heavenly kingdom is also father son and granson that will initiate the israel of god which is the h.g. the promise seed that is gona be sown in humanity resulting in a birth of th h.g in us, being bornagain of an incorruptible seed gbu
Natural israel was the result of abrahams seed but the israel of god is the result of christ and his seed the word. i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven thus the sower and his seed planted in humanity, jesus said the field was the world humanity thats y jeremiah saw the world in travail and birth pains 27 times the prophets saw this world in travail and birth pains i.e the israel of god
Many lessons from God here. First, God wants Mercy, not sacrifice. No sacrifice of self or another. GOD WANTS MERCY. He shows it to Abraham freely. Secondly, only God can provide The Lamb He will accept
DBL: Child-sacrifice is not being promoted here, nor is the promise threatened. God already planned out that Isaac wasn't going to actually die and the promise given to Abraham would still be fulfilled. Regardless of the seemingly contradictory command, Abraham still trusted that God wouldn't break his promise, which was what truly demonstrated his faith. ( Hebrews 11:17-19)
Genesis 22 is a controversial passage in the Bible as it is a representation of the savagery of God. The undeniable request of Abraham contradicts the ideals of God. First, the concept of child-sacrifice later abhorred by God is promoted in this passage. Also, the violation of God's covenant to expand the Israelites through Isaac is obviously threatened. How can God ask contradictory things?
We see a beautiful picture of the kingdom of God in Abraham Issac and Jacob just as Abraham offered up issac his only son God almighty offered up his only son Christ Jesus, the Ram caught in the thicket by his Horns was symbolic of Christ and his Crown of thorns, thus we see the Kingdom of God in Abraham Issac and Jacob, thus its CHRIST that is gona be multiplied as the STARS OF HEAVEN BY HIS SEED.
THAT GREAT PROMISE THAT GOD MADE TO ABRAHAM ABOUT MULTIPLICATION WAS JUST A METAPHOR THAT GOD HIMSELF WD BE MULTIPLIED IN HUMANITY VIA THE SEED OF THE SOWER TH WORD OF GOD WHICH IS THE VERY SEED OF GOD THATS Y JESUS IS SAYING TO WHOM THE WORD/SEED CAME IT MADE THEM GODS, THE H.G. IS THAT PROMISE SEED AND CHRIST IS THE FATHER OF THE H.G SIMPLY B/C HE IS TH SON THAT SOWS THAT SEED N OUR HEARTS GBU.
Abraham knew that his son would not die, it clearly states "And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you." I and the lad, will go yonder and worship, and come again to you, That part there means that he trusted in the lord and knew his heavenly father wouldn't accept his offering.
The nation of israel was the direct result of the Promise God made to Abraham via his seed etc,But the multiplication of Christ via his seed the word sown in humanity will result in the Israel of God But the seed of abraham were not the real children of PROMISE ITS CHRIST AND HIS SEED THAT ARE THE REAL CHILDREN OF PROMISE WHICH ARE SPIRITS TH H,G. MANY, THATS Y HE REFERS TO THE H,G AS THE PROMISE.
the Godhead is simply Father Son n Granson, Abraham was just a type of GOD THE FATHER THAT WANTED A POSTERITY GRANSONS THAT WD BE AS THE SAND OF THE SEAS,NATURAL ISRAEL BUT THAT WAS JUST ALIGORICAL THAT GOD WD BE MULTIPLIED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN IN HUMANITY.JESUS CD NOT REFER TO THE HG AS THE PROMISE IF HE WERE NOT THE GRANSON,THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL PROMISE THAT ABRAHAM WD HAVE GRAND CHILDREN.
THE Ram caught in the thicket by his HORNS was symbolic of Christ and his Crown of thorns Jesus was caught in the thicket of th sins of the world thus he was truly the LAMB OF GOD THAT WD TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. WHEN THE JEWS SAW THE CROWN OF THORNS ON HIS HEAD THEY REMEMBERED THE RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS.THE LORD WILL PROVIDE A LAMB ABRAHAM TOLD ISSAC Behold the LAMB of God
Verse 3~Abraham had an extraordinary amount of faith in God. He was willing to sacrifice much. Jehovah God blessed him and used him as an example in what he would do centuries later in offering up the life of his son Jesus Christ.
God requires everything with nothing held back in the form of human attachment. So Abraham offered up Issac who didn't quibble but trusted Abraham even as he held the knife to slay him that God will provide himself a sacrifice. Abraham demonstrated in real time his faith, and why not? God had appeared to him and prepared him to be a father of many nations. Those are the Jews first, Christians,
Abraham was symbolic of Father GOD THAT wanted a Posterity but was asked to offer up his only son Isaac a type of the lamb of GOD CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS ( HIS CROWN OF THORNS ) POINTS TO HIM BEING THAT RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS, OUT OF ISAAC came Esau n Jacob the 2 Israels 1 born of the flesh and 1 born of the spirit, the 2 nd is always that which is born of the Spirit.
The ram CAUGHT IN THE thicket by his horns answers to Christ J WHEN THEY PUT THAT CROWN OF THORNS ON HIS HEAD it was symbolic of the Ram caught in the thicket by his horns, Jesus was put in the thicket of the sins of the world, thus he was the lamb of God that had to die for the sins of the world, Abraham saw the place afar off like 2000 yrs away at Calvary,Behold the lamb of GOD THAT DIED FOR US.
Emanuel; To your question about God putting people to the test; in James it is talking about alluring to sin; which cannot be done to God, and He doesn't do to anyone! But as to the action itself of enticing it is something that God does use in many ways for His righteous purposes and bringing out the best (or worst) in people. For example - Genesis 22:1; John 6:6; 2 Thess. 2:11; 1 Kings 22:22.
This chapter of the Bible marks a great meaning in human and God relationship and human salvation
1. the human nature is always to " take" and rarely give as portrayed in infants who alway put in their mouth whatever they grab
I perceived God must have had goose pimples allover when Abraham willing gave his beloved son Isaac
2.Isaac signifies Jesus whom GOD gave as a ransom for our sin
It is notable that Abraham did not tell anyone else about what God had asked him to do. He knew it was God and did not need anyone else's opinion. When God speaks to us we should not hesitate and debate with anyone else, but trust Him completely.
