Hello Randy. Looking at the sacrifice of Jesus, the Son of God, from the human standpoint, I would agree with your question & it could also make me wonder also as to why God couldn't provide another way for our redemption. But with any biblical question that needs an answer, we have to find it by understanding God's Wisdom as seen in ALL of Scripture. Please bear with me.

In God's Justice system, if anything is done in opposition to His Law (whether verbal or written), the penalty for that disobedience is death: "For the wages of sin (breaking of the Law) is death" ( Romans 6:23) & "as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" ( Romans 5:12). We suffer death because we are all sinners - all have disobeyed God's Will (whether Jew or non-Jew). But was death the only punishment for sinners seeing that the spirit of man (our immaterial part that is really who we are) cannot die? The body has to die & return to dust but the spirit still has to face judgement for his disobedience & rejection of God: "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" ( Hebrews 9:27).

But God's people (Israel) still had to have a set of rules & regulations from God that they had to obey to have a right standing before Him & if they failed to do so, their sinful state remained & they would stand before the Great Judge. Of course, they failed, as we also do now, because those Laws only revealed to us our sinfulness & incapability to fulfil them. So God introduced the sacrificial system whereby Israel faithfully had various sacrifices performed so that God would be appeased by this act of payment of life for life. Rather than the Israelite being executed for his sin (which would mean that all would have been killed), God's Anger & Judgement against him was appeased by the sacrifice of an unblemished animal as his substitute (Leviticus chapter 1).

Brother Simon, may CHRIST IN US grace us with His wisdom and His understanding.

I agree, we can only be born again BY RESURRECTION.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in THE FIRST RESURRECTION: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be Priests of God and Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

This happens before the second judgement in Revelation 20:11-13

Luke 20:36 Neither can they die anymore...

Christ is telling the Sadducees; who did not believe in resurrection, that the ones APPOINTED TO DIE with him on his cross would never die again.

Psalms 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come; and the people which SHALL BE CREATED shall praise the Lord.

Psalms 102:20 ...to loose those APPOINTED TO DEATH

Luke 20:36 ....being the children of the resurrection.

1 Peter 4:17 For the TIME IS COME that JUDGEMENT must begin at the HOUSE OF GOD.....

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose HOUSE WE ARE...

John 5:22 For the father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgement unto the Son.

2 Corinthians 5:10 We must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ....

We were RESURRECTED with Christ and Christ is dwelling IN US; therefore, Christ's THRONE is IN US and were are BEFORE the THRONE being JUDGED NOW by Christ (the word of God).

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed (flesh), but by incorruptible, by THE WORD (SPIRIT) of God, which LIVETH and ABIDETH forever. (you will never die again after you died ONCE with Christ).

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is APPOINTED unto man ONCE TO DIE (with Christ on the cross or later at the second death), but after this then the JUDGEMENT.

Hebrews 9:28 .....and unto them that look for him shall he appear a SECOND TIME (the first time was in the flesh; the second time in SPIRIT, you don't see him he is like a thief in the night) WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION.

Phil, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

CHRIST'S rule upon earth is not done from the natural Jerusalem existing in Israel east of the Mediterranean Sea; it is done through NEW JERUSALEM described in Revelation 21.

Revelation 21:22 And I saw NO TEMPLE therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the LAMB are THE TEMPLE OF IT.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was offered ONCE to BEAR THE SINS of many; and unto them that (the SPIRIT causes) to look for him shall he APPEAR THE SECOND TIME (second coming) WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION.

NEW JERUSALEM is ruling NOW. You can live in NEW JERUSALEM NOW.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH (born of the SPIRIT): for the First heaven and the first earth were passed away (died on the cross with CHRIST);and there was no more sea (that the beast came out of). Revelation 13:1

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw (in vision) the holy city, New Jerusalem, COMING DOWN FROM GOD (SPIRIT) out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

John 3:13 No man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is IN HEAVEN (CHRIST IN YOU Colossians 1:27)

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLETH IN YOU.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice (Holy Spirit) out of heaven saying, Behold, THE TABERNACLE OF GOD IS WITH MEN, and HE SHALL DWELL WITH THEM, and they shall be his people, and GOD HIMSELF (SPIRIT) shall be with them (and in them), an be their God.

WE SUFFER in THIS FLESH; until this flesh dies, and we are given the BODY OF CHRIST.

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have PUT ON incorruption, and this mortal MUST PUT ON immortality.

1 Timothy 6:16 ....Who ONLY hath immortality.....

Luke 1:69 ..raised up a HORN of salvation...

Revelation 17:16-17 and the ten HORNS (saved) ... shall hate the whore, and shall make her DESOLATE and NAKED, and shall eat her flesh, and BURN HER WITH FIRE.

Brother Richard, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and His understanding.

I believe if there is a second death; there has to also be a first death.

    Two resurrections; therefore, two deaths.

God is no respector of person; therefore, if the ones in second resurrection die (are judged) in the lake of fire; the ones in the first resurrection also die (are judged) in the lake of fire.

When Christ caused us to become one with him (CHRIST IN US) we we cast into (CHRIST) the lake of fire. To partake of the bread of life and the fountain of living water we also have to partake of the judgement of fire. As the bread and water gives us life, the fire cleanses and purifies us. We are being judged in the lake of fire (word of God) now; therefore, we want have our part in the lake of fire at the second resurrection.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is APPOINTED unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:

We died with Christ on the Cross (first death). We are being judged IN CHRIST now, BY THE WORD, BY FIRE. Those appointed the second death will be judged IN CHRIST ( Hebrews 10:31), BY THE WORD, BY FIRE.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was offered once for the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear a SECOND TIME (NOW, to those in the first resurrection the second coming is NOW; we don't have to wait for the literal appearance of Christ) WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION.

For those in the second resurrection their judgement IN CHRIST is going to last awhile. Matthew says those that blaspheme the Holy Spirit want be saved in this age or the next age. This age so far has lasted 2000 years. We don't know how long the next age will last.

I believe those in the second resurrection will be raised back in bodies of flesh. The first resurrection, glorified bodies.

Revelation 20:7 ...Satan (flesh) will be loosed out of his prison (death and the grave),

1 Corinthians 15:40 celestial (glorified); terrestrial (flesh and blood)

Don, yes we see in ( Hebrews 9:6-14) With this, it shows Jesus went in once and anointed the Holy of Holies not made with hands. Jesus repaired the dwelling place and made it possible for God through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus to dwell in us. If we look at verse 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. Remember when Jesus cried out and said it was finished. He gave up the ghost, the veil of the temple was rent in half and God left the temple made with hands, the service in the temple made by hands was over, and soon in that generation, it would be physically gone and may never be again. The animal sacrifices that never covered sin ended on the cross.

Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well of this very thing, the hour was coming and it did. The temple worship will no longer be where God would be worshiped and later on the temple would not even be there. (John4:21-24)

Only my opinion, this is the place in John 14, Jesus went to prepare for us, on the cross, mansion (dwelling place) Strong's 3438. mon, Definition: an abiding, an abode. God dwelt in the garden of Eden with Adam but was demolished with sin. Now since the cross, the body of a believer is the dwelling place. Jesus's sacrifice and anointing of the Holy of Holies in heaven, God could send the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus to dwell, abode in us. The law is written in our hearts, not on paper.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Just about everyone is taking this vaccine out of fear; fear of getting sick, fear of making someone else sick, and fear of dying. 2nd Timothy 1:7 (For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.) Hebrews 9:27 (And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:) You can take a thousand shots, have hundreds of doctors by your side but, this will not save you from death! John 11:25 (Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:) Fear not, praying for you! God Bless.

In Revelation chapter 22, I see one part of the message completing in verse 15, with a new part beginning in verse 16. And this is the final appeal by Jesus, for all people who are alive & "athirst" (not those in Hell or consigned in judgement) to come & take of His Life-giving waters freely. Those unrepentant sinners & those consigned in judgement have no second chance, whether at death or at judgement ( Hebrews 9:27).

I understand that you believe that the Lake of Fire is a judgement, however temporary until sinners come to the Truth. This would be a huge discussion to have, rather I would ask three questions: what was then the need for the Cross if hell was temporary?; and why the need to repent now before it's too late ( 2 Corinthians 6:2) & why the urging of Jesus & His apostles to put away sin & live accordingly in newness of mind & spirit, if eventually we all (saved now & unsaved) end up in 'Paradise'?

If these things were not constantly before us as we read the Bible, we could then believe as you do, that there yet remains hope for the unrepentant in this life but who then repents in the next. This teaching I believe, is against God's Word & against Jesus' preaching that we have only this life to come to the Light & repent, for there remains no second chance to the sinner.

I believe you are correct in saying that we cannot believe in Christ without believing who he is or what he said. We are saved and made righteous according to Romans 4 by believing God that His obedience and death was Gods provision for us and that His resurrection is proof of that.

Faith in Christ Jesus means we believe God. It the faith of Christ that saves us. His faith, His death, His resurrection.

    See Galatians 2:20

When we fully trust that alone as our justification before God, we are given His spirit to live out that life until we are

given our glorified bodies, just as Christ now has a Glorified body.

Hi Richard, I believe there may be people who have put off the Mercy Seat until a later time in Heaven. Jesus spoke of the Jews, that he would have gathered them now, but they would not. I believe how he spoke then would apply to anyone who puts off His covering and blood bought Mercy Seat until another day. Perhaps by your question that seems to linger, you or someone you know is feeling the pull to know the True High Priest in this present body, which is His temple.

A common friend in Christ Jesus.

Richard, you are HEAVEN where THE SPIRIT OF THE FATHER DWELLS and CHRIST sits at his right hand. You are the ARK OF THE COVENANT because he is, you are the the HOLY OF HOLY because he is, you are THE GOLDEN VESSEL ON THE TABLE OF THE SANCTUARY because he is. You are the TRUE TEMPLE because he is. The old was a shadow of the NEW the TRUE (CHRIST IN YOU). When Christ ascended from the Mt. of Olives into heaven it was you he ascended into the TRUE HEAVEN.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy place made with hands (tent in the wilderness or Solomon's temple), which are a figure (shadow of better things); but into heaven itself (CHRIST IN YOU); now to appear in the PRESENTS of God for us:

1 Timothy 6:16 ...dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see.....we are in the light because he is

Zachariah 14:21-22 In that day (day of the Lord, CHRIST IN YOU) shall there be bells of the horses (bells were on the priest's garments to enter into the HOLY OF HOLY), HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the alter.

Hello Richard, Some thoughts. The Mercy Seat was not just above the Law preserved in the Ark but the light of the Gospel by the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ shines through the perfectly thin gold. His blood bought Life is the Mercy Seat and covers, but not darkens the Law which was provided by the Father. It is at this Mercy Seat, how can we know it, how can we know Jesus? We must by Faith have grace to enter in through the veil and place ourselves at the Lord Jesus's feet and repent of our sins and turn away from them by grace in faith, forever. Then we will be common with all who know Him and His forgiveness will blot out our death sentence by the law.
  • Richard - In Reply on Hebrews 9 - 4 years ago
My question a few days ago: I have heard some say that when Jesus died and went into Heaven He swiped His hand across the mercy seat as Aaron did with animal blood. Did Jesus present himself before the mercy seat in Heaven because the earthly was a symbol of Heavenly and now shedding His own blood, Jesus is the mercy seat?

    Thank you.
  • John - In Reply on Hebrews 9 - 4 years ago
Acts 2:38 is the first Christian message ever preached and it needs to be obeyed.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

    Galatians 3:27-29 KJV

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

    Romans 6:1-5 KJV

    In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

    Colossians 2:11-14 KJV

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

    1 Peter 3:20-21 kjv

My question is are you saved in believing who Jesus is ? Or what Jesus did ?

My take is if you don't believe that he is the Christ you will not believe in his words or work .

Even the devils know who God is and tremble . Said James .

There is more to just believing , although that's where it starts .

Also many types of love and not all are good . I hear people saying like the Beatles all you need is love , but love can be for the wrong things . Love of God is totally different, you can not love the world and God too .

Richard, may the Spirit grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

We are the TEMPLE OF GOD, the HOLY OF HOLY (Christ in you) is now in us along with the TRUE MERCY SEAT (HIS blood now covering us) The old was a shadow of the HEAVENLY. We are the HEAVEN OF HEAVENS. JESUS IS THE TEMPLE we have become ONE TEMPLE.

John 3:13 And no man has ascended up to heaven (shadow of the NEW HEAVEN) .....

Revelation 21:5 .....I make all things new...

Revelation 21:1 ....new heaven and a new earth.... God's hew home (TRUE HEAVEN) with a body now longer made of the dust of earth; but of THE GLORY OF CHRIST.

1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed DWELL ON EARTH (the shadow was the tent in the wilderness; afterwards Solomon's temple)? behold, the heaven (old) and the HEAVEN OF HEAVENS (new) cannot contain THEE. How much less the house I have builded? God is INDEED DWELLING ON EARTH; but now in the NEW.

There were Christian believers from times past that left this confession of faith in 1632.

"We also believe and confess that before His ascension, He instituted His New Testament, and, since it was to be and remain an eternal Testament, that, He confirmed and sealed the same with His precious blood, and gave and left it to His disciples, yea, charged them so highly with it, that neither angel nor man may alter it, nor add to it, nor take away from it; and that He has caused the same, as containing the whole counsel and will of His heavenly Father, as necessary for salvation, to be proclaimed in His name by His beloved apostles, messengers, and ministers- whom He called, chose, and sent into all the world for that purpose- among all peoples, nations, and tongues, and repentance and remission of sins to be preached and testified of; and that he accordingly has therein declared all men without distinction, who through faith, as obedient children, heed, follow, and practice what the same contains, to be His children, and lawful heirs; this excluding no one from the precious inheritance of eternal salvation, except for the un-believing, and disobedient, the stiff-necked and obdurate, who despise it, and incur this through their own sins, thus making themselves unworthy of eternal life." OnlytruthintheworldKJV, you were concerned of the time and dates on the 70th week ending and feel there is 3 years left. There are not any dates or time in the scriptures so we have to look at the recorded dates in history. This is the closest dates I can find in history records but it should be within a margin of erra, may it answer your doubts.

The 70 weeks of 7= 490 years. 483 years when Jesus was baptized. History places this around 29AD. Jesus' ministry was 3 years by the number of Passovers Jesus went to according to scriptures. We are at 486 years. Stephen's death is recorded around 36AD. This is around the same time Jesus stopped confirming the New Covenant through is Apostils and Peter had his dream and went to Cornelius and the gospel went to the Gentiles.

This prophecy was determined upon Israel and Jerusalem not the world, and these six things were to be fulfilled. See for yourself if these were fulfilled by Jesus. 1 To finish the transgression ( Isaiah 53:5, 8) ( Hebrews 9:15-18) 2. To make an end of sins ( Matthew 1:21) ( Hebrews 10:8-11) ( 1 John 3:5) ( Romans 8:3) 3. To make reconciliation for iniquity ( Colossians 1:20-22) ( Isaiah 53:6) ( Titus 2:14) ( 2 Corinthians 5:18-19) 4. To bring in everlasting righteousness ( Romans 5:17-21) ( 2 Corinthians 5:21) 5. To seal up vision and prophecy ( Daniel 9:23) ( John 6:27) ( Mark 1:14-15) 6. To anoint the most holy ( Hebrews 9:6-14).

The 3 years in Revelation starts when Satan is cast down and gives his power to the beast, not connected with the 70 weeks. If not clear its ok.

Interesting. So after 60 years of "intense" study of the Bible that is all you can say to me? I must state again. You proclaim there is no unforgivable sin(blasphemy of the Holy Ghost) though Jesus Christ says there is. ( 2 Peter 20-21.

With your one statement of "God shall never allow His Son to be crucified afresh". You mean like Hebrews 9:24-26. Yes I understand that. This does not give us free will to go about sinning in this world. Like stated in Hebrews 10:26-29 which I left for you in the previous post. Which would just be putting His blood to shame as stated. Sounding to be of the unforgivable sin which only the Lord shall judge. Of coarse we can make mistakes and we will always have forgiveness if we are true to humble ourselves before the Lord. Confess our sins, or mistakes, and strive to repent of them. To live for the Will of God not our own will. James 4:7-8

Seeing no real response to my couple questions which is ok. Back to the original question which is what led me to post to you in the first place. The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit being different. Which again I say is false. Giving you detailed information of the original Greek texts which predates the English translation of the Scriptures.

As you have veered to reply to this information several times I do not expect a reply from you.

Thank you for all your time.

When Moses read the law to all the people, he took blood, water, hyssop, and sprinkled them with it, signifying God have enjoined them.

    Hebrews 10: 22:

Our bodies are washed with pure water.

    1 Peter 3: 20, 21:

In the days of Noah, 8 souls were saved by water. The like figure even BAPTISM ALSO NOW SAVES US.

In conclusion, water is used to separate you from sin/cut off the flesh to bring you into new covenant with Christ, the NEW BIRTH, BORN AGAIN OF WATER AND SPIRIT!
