  • Maame Seguwah on Hosea 2 - 7 years ago
Hosea chapter 2 teaches me about the love God have for humanity. if God could asked His prophet Hosea to take a whore as a wife and He himself named the children of this whore, then brethren we should not condemn anyone because my God is capable to use those we called unbelievers to glorify Himself or accomplish His prophesies. for whiles we were yet sinners Christ died for us, glory haleluya

A prophecy for Israel: Hosea's life dipicted Israel's life with Yah. Israel committed whoredoms by going after the Baalims, and Yah said Lo Ammi (not my people) and He scattered them, but He says even though He scattered them their number will be as the sand of the sea ( Genesis 22:). But He will gather them again and take away baalim from their mouth and they shall call Him Ishi (My Husband).

This is a Prophecy for the people of Israel, if we read the first chapter carefully we will see this.
the wife of whoredoms represents Israel and her whoredoms to Yah, and He Yah is telling what will happen to Israel. and He is saying that although He will do all this to Israel their number will be as the sand of the sea (for this He promised to Abraham in Genesis)

When life gets really rough and trouble besets us on every side, many of us turn to God for comfort and He is there waiting with open arms to forgive and receive us.

  • Moki on Hosea 2 - 12 years ago
I typed poorly. I meant law of LOVE not works that Paul spoke of.
  • Moki on Hosea 2:16 - 12 years ago
Compare that to Paul telling the husband to give himself to his wife as Christ did for the church realize that that relationship is an example of the woman being a type of the Church Bride of Christ. Is the a new law, not a law of works
  • EMMANUEL on Hosea 2:19 - 12 years ago

This is my response to Beverly's comment dated 9/12/2013 at 10:11pm on Romans Chapter 9 about verse 25):

That's right.. Osee is Hosea because that verse in Romans 9:25 was quoted from Hosea 2:23, "And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God".

Hosea was a true prophet who merited to hear the Word of the Lord because he didn't believe in idolatry, ex. xtianity and, this chapter he said long time before the birth of xtianity. Do not distort its menaing. Verses 14-23 talk about the Children of Israel's eventual (soon!) miraculous redemption thru Hashem, the ONE AND ONLY, Master of the universe, the Jews' Father in Heaven, the same One that redeemed them from Egypt. When Hashem will redeem the Jewish People in the future, you too will know Him and you will regret all the lies you unherited thru ex. xtianity. Don't believe me ? Read Jeremiah ENTIRELY and in HEBREW, if you were ever taught Hebrew, the Holy language and the language of the Hebrew prophets. Also, "Israel/the Jewish people, is holy to the Lord, the first of His grain; all who eat him shall be guilty, evil shall befall them, says the Lord" (Jeremiah chapter 2) Be patient.
  • Christine on Hosea 2 - 16 years ago
The name Ishi is similar to the phrase "my husband", which is appropriate since the Lord is our husband and the church is the groom. But, also the name Ishi means to BRING SALVATION; the name JESUS also means salvation! Jesus is Ishi, God himself wrapped in flesh to bring us salvation!
