The word good in V. 34 means useful. In those days, salt was a preservative. They put salt on things to keep it from putrefying. But if salt does not contain the proper ingredients, what is it good for? Jesus talks about salt and light in Matt 5:13-16. He says, "You are the salt of the earth." At this point and time in experiencing the fullness of God, He says, YOU ARE the salt of the earth. And then He says, "YOU ARE the light of the world." Salt was used for two things. It was used as a preservative. They used it to preserve food, especially meat and vegetables. They also used it for purification. In 2 Kings 2:19-23, salt was used to purify bad water.

But to know why He used the term salt, we need to understand that God made a covenant of salt with Israel ( Numbers 18:19), which God said would be upon David and his descendants. Paul in Romans Chapter 11 said all of the Jews of the Kingdom. In Matt 5:14-16, Jesus says you are salt and you are light. He went on to say that you can't take a light and put it under a bushel.

What He is saying is you can't snuff out the light of the Lord. The light amongst the Jews was the Messiah. You are salt. Christ in you is the light, and Christ in you is the purification and the preservative for the people around you and especially in your life.

The command is let your light so shine. Did you ever sing that song "This little light of mine, not going to let anybody blow it out? It can't be blown out. Nobody can blow it out. The command itself, (let your light so shine) kind of sounds like an invitation. But literally, it is "Shine your light," which is a command of God. Shine your light! I don't have to worry about going out to my car to find the light because the Lord said for me to shine it. Israel was said to be the light of the world. Isaiah 42:6, Isaiah 49:6, and Isaiah 60:3 says that the Jews were to be the salt and the light of the world.

I don't think anyone would argue that the God of the Bible, Jehovah, is a God of Order and Purpose, Ephesians 3:11. We see how when He created the Universe, He organized it and set everything in motion, by carefully coordinating the composition and orbits of Galaxies, Stars, and Planets, Isaiah 60:20-22. He also established Physical Laws to regulate the interaction of all matter. Even the smallest Atoms are regulated. Everything adheres to His Principles for order, Psalm 8:3. That is also true of Humanity and Social interaction, John 1:17. There are set rules and standards everything must meet to function. There is even a cycle in the Earth that allows things to decompose and regenerate. Leaves fall in the forest. They decompose. Then they act as nutrients for the soil. Those nutrients feed the seeds that grow into more trees.

The Bible tells us that in the Beginning of Time, God created the Heavens and the Earth. He also created vegetation, animals and mankind. The Bible also tells us the name of the Creator is Jehovah. In the New Testament we find Christ with God at the beginning. And Christ created all things. So we find that:

1. God is a God of Order

2. He created all things that exist, visible and invisible

3. God created with a Plan and Purpose

4. That Purpose is found in Christ

5. Without Christ, nothing was made that was made

6. All things were created For Christ

7. Before Adam and Eve were created, God had a Plan

8. That Plan is called His Eternal Plan of Creation

9. It is also called His Plan of Redemption or Salvation

10. Christ, as the Sacrificial Lamb, existed before Abraham

11. Christ as the Sacrificial Lamb existed before Adam and Eve Sinned

12. Our Salvation through Christ was decided before The Fall

13. When Adam and Eve fell, God's Plan for Creation was already working

14. We are part of God's Plan of Creation as the Redeemed by His Love and Grace

15. We can love God, because He first loved us

Isaiah is telling about an Israel of God that is coming in the last days. A lil one shall become a 1000 a small one a Strong Nation i the lord will hasten it in its time,They are spirits th H.G. plural that are gonna be born in US sinners,That which is BORN of the spirit is Spirit the SEED is the Word WHICH IS SPIRIT thus his children are spirits They are the babes and sucklings Jesus HID. They are the result of his seed th WORD that is gona be sown in our hearts, they also answer to the LIL CHILD that is gonna lead us ( the H.G. ) Jesus said when he the Spirit of truth is come HE will LEAD you into all truth.Unless ya receive the KINGDOM as a LIL CHILD you will in no wise enter TH KINGDOM.

On Isaiah 60: You are correct Alex. Jesus paid the price for ALL, yet not ALL will be saved. Look at Matthew 7:13 and 14. Then look at Matthew 7: 21, 22, and 23. This describes to me some of these apostate so called evangelists we are seeing today. Ie. Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, and many others who fall into their false " prosperity " teaching. We are to count the cost in following Christ. It's as easy as just asking Him in, yet we have to follow Him and only Him. We all know through life's experiences that it's not all that easy. I fall short each and every day, and all I have to stand on is His grace. Again, He paid the price for ALL, yet ALL will not be saved.

By FAITH I believe all of the above. GOD has SPOKEN, SIGNED, and SEALED IT, therefore my brain do not have to understand all of the above, soooo, let me just say LORD I want to be in the number on that day of verse 20-21. I shall follow John 3:16-21.

This isaiah 60 is very powerful in the spritual realm,Its telling us that even the Gentiles are gona birth a baby Christ which is the H.G.That new born babe desiring the sincere milk of the word is tHE H,G THAT IS GONNA BE BORN IN US,That which is born of the spirit is spirit, that good seed is the word thus the children are spirits.27 times th prophets saw the world in travail and birth pains GBU

Jehovah God is the source of true enlightenment and we can shine in his light despite being surrounded by a world engulfed in darkness.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Because of Adam's rebellion against God. Satan took over the earth, now God had to find a redeemed. Isaiah 60:16 Jesus is our redeemer. Satan will loose ...

This chapter is saying God will have mercy on Jacob (lost sheep). He will yet choose israel and set them in their own land. Strangers are Gentiles that are not israelites born of the seed Jacob. Verse 12 says nations will serve us or perish if they choose not to serve. Righteousness will once again be established with lost sheep (12 tribes) to enlighten the world.

Hallelujah. Isaiah Chapter 60 has always been my chapter. My faith is always lifted each time I read it. I have not doubt that today June 21, 2017 is the day that my sorrow and mourning shall be ended in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Vs. 19 -21; the prophecy of eternal salvation with Him in Heaven. The heavens and earth that now are, are kept in store for being cast, with satan and his angels, into everlasting fire.

Its time for us to go a head with the gospel to the whole world for God is with us. We are his vessel and that God s presence is upon us

This says to me that Jesus is come and that I do not have to dwell in sin anymore. That there is forgiveness no matter how bad my situation is. Jesus is calling me out of the darkness.

Isaiah 60 verses 1 - God is asking to stand up and do that which is impossible, That He is the light and He shineth to every believer of the gospel. ....Arise i.e, Stand up ...shine for thy light has come. He has given us the power boldness to challenge, conquer, and possess. Amen

This chapter is talking about a gentile Island nation to be exalted by God in the later days. Which nation could this be?

God gave me this scripture as I was crying out to god asking him what would you have me do about a situation in my life and as clear as any thing I have ever heard I heard Isaiah 60 iam shouting or to god for his word.
