Is she mixed up:
Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ..... CHRIST IN YOU ....
Christ CAME THE SECOND TIME at pentecost; in SPIRIT, as the Holy Ghost.
Hebrews 9:28 So, Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many (first coming, as flesh), and unto them that look for him (as a thief in the night) he shall appear the SECOND TIME (unseen like a thief, as the Holy Ghost) without SIN UNTO SALVATION.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (the life of the body) that WORKETH in you (his body) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Revelation 20:6 Blesses and HOLY (Christ in you) is he (the body of Christ) that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION ..
John 11:25 ....I am THE RESURRECTION, and the LIFE, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall HE LIVE.
CHRIST IN YOU.
1 John 2:27 The anointing (THE LIFE) in you ....... will teach you ALL THINGS .......
Colossians 3:3 For ye are DEAD, and your LIFE is HID with Christ in God.
Christ blood COVERS our sins, to REPENT means to change your way of thinking, or your beliefs.
It takes lots of studying God's word and lots of repenting in the way, and things, we believe.
God Bless you.
Jesus says in John 15:1-2 "my Father is the husbandman." Vine dresser"
This emphasizes fruit barring is a work of the Holyspirirt, not of you.
Let's consider that for a moment, FRUIT IS NOT GIFTS AND IT'S NOT SERVING AND IT'S NOT BY COMMAND.
So, when we come across these scriptures John 13:34-35. Mattthew 7:20. 1 John 2:11. 1 John 4:20. these are the marks of a Christian and is the ONLY way they are identified! And if you cannot be Identified by this you have John 15:6 to deal with.
Your faithfulness, intelligence, commitment, being noble, teaching, serving is all good but you're not identified as a Christian by none of these and can be told I "NEVER" knew you! Matthew 7:22-23.
Let's be clear on the recipient of this love that validates our position.
We are to love everyone, but our validation is specifically towards the Brothern.
The passages in 1 John speaks expressly about HATING you Brother.
God is truth, God is light, and God is Love. We are to worship God in truth and in Spirit. When the truth is spoken it shines light on darkness, and those in darkness hates the light and they will hate you!
HUMILITY.
Another fruit with great virtue. Woks of the law couldn't bring this either. It brought pride!
Being connect to the genuine vine brings humility. Look at what the Lord tells the Pharisees in Matthew 21:33-44. Right away you see the contrast of the two vines. Israel was to be a vine, but they became a degenerate vine. Jeremiah 2:9.
Now, place your attention on vs 43. Therefore, say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. (The Church) Peter calls the Church a Holy nation in 1 Peter 2:9.
Humility cast out pride doesn't it. We tend to want to place our spirituality on things we do, putting ourselves on display and pointing people towards us instead of Christ.
more to come.
Its Christ faith were saved by not ours!
See part 9.
the Lord meaning.. Yhvh = translated, The proper name of GOD of Israel = Eternal 2. Jehovah 'Jewish name'
Earth = earth, land, nations, wilderness, world,
Exodus 9:29,
1Corinthians 10:26 "For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.'' the Lord's meaning 1. Supreme in authority, 2. Controller 3. supremacy, master,
Chris gave you great scripture but I want to point to the bigger more complete picture.
Ephesians 6:12, world = aion translated = an age, 1Corinthians 2:6, 1Corinthians 1:20,
John 15:19, meaning translated = kosmos= orderly arrangement, 2. The world including it's inhabitants, John 3:15-17, 1Corinthians 7:31,
John 1:10, 1John 2:16, Proverbs 29:2,
1John 5:4, John 16:33, 1Corinthians 15:24-28, John 17, 1John 3:10-16, John 9:5, 1Corinthians 6:2, Genesis 1:28, Luke 22:25-30, Matthew 10:8, Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 9:1-2, Luke 10:9, Mark 16:15-19
2Peter 3:13, Isaiah 65:17, Revelation 21, Ephesians 6:10-18
Hopefully these are helpful in deeper understanding, you can also pray for wisdom, James 1:5,
Humility is the opposite of pride.
God says He resists the proud, but He is always on the side of the humble. "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate" Proverbs 8:13.
John tells us that "the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world" (1 John 2:16). Where does the pride of life come from? If there is anything that comes from the devil, that is it.
Even our salvation should spoken of with humility, It is something about which to glorify God. It should humble you being you had no part in it.
Paul writes, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:5.
What kind of mind did He have? Lowliness of mind. He said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle meek] and lowly in heart. Matthew 11:29.
Pride is destroying the testimony of many Christians and has made them ineffective for God. They go in for show and draw people after themselves but they are building nothing more than wood hay and stubble.
Jesus tought a lesson in Humility in John 13:8-15. ( Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.)
Matthew 23:11-12. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:25-26.
God bless.
Here by we know.
A Child of God can and should examine themselves.
I gave a recent post on the old man being crucified with Christ and given life being quickened by the Spirit. In other words, being baptized into Christ death and resurrection. Romans 6:3-4. Romans 8:8-13,
Paul gives gave these verses as a rebuttal to anyone having the old nature having dominion over them.
Here are some highly ignored verses and is whereby we "know! whether God spirit is in us or not. And is what should be a great concern!
A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35.
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:9-11.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 1 John 4:16-21.
Now "if" we have been baptized in Christ, we have the love of God in us to love one another.
This is virtue by being in him and him in you.
see part 2.
Thanks for the reply, however it is far from what I meant when I posted, I never mentioned anything about the love of God, I'm sorry but you missed this one by a mile! Nowhere close to the context.
Here's the verses I have given. John 13:34-35. and 1 John 2:1-11. 1 John 4:20-21. and yes these topics has shut down debates whether it's about the trinity, eternal security, baptism, etc. because I've posed these during several debates and no response afterwards.
Please read and go over the response I gave to Bro Dan that you're replying to again.
It's getting late, I will cover this tomorrow.
God night and God bless.
Sorry for a delayed response, I've been working and replying all day.
You've given me Mathew 22:40. That's not the verses I gave you and the Mathew verse you gave is out of context.
Here is the verses I gave. John 13:34-35. 1 John 2:1-11. and 1 John 4:21. It's getting late so let's take this up tomorrow.
Thanks and God bless.
1 John 2:11
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
I find it Amazing that out of the 2000 Characters allowed on these posts, If baptism is mentioned once it draws attention.
If you mention the command to love your brother "And that's whether he holds the same views of baptism or not " Love shuts the thread down!
Most will admit you can be baptized and not be saved, as well as every alter call in the local Church means someone got saved. But they passionately hold to the view you must be baptized by water to be saved!
As Texsis said the scripture doesn't say that. Nowhere!
I would love to see this intense debate on
John 13:34-35.
John 15.
And especially 1 John 2:1-11. Where it speaks of what's contuary to loving your brother which is hating your brother! and sadly over a view!
I'm not here to judge but it seems the fruit that confirms a live branch seems to be lacking from some!
Is this because the foundation you're they're standing on is built by your own works?
This Post was never about water baptism, It was about fruit barring, the old nature crucified, and the baptism of the Holyspirit which sanctifies a believer Positionally and practically and puts us in the body of Christ with other believers.
This is why I felt Texsis asked a good question that was fitting to the post. Because only the baptism of the Holyspirit brings new life and the beginning of a better covenant.
God bless.
If you would 1st please consider the way it makes you feel. As you stated "horrified" that's not of GOD. Galatians 5:22-25,
2nd please consider all around you. Is there peace, is there light, anything to be thankful for? Is searching out news also symbolic of wanting to "know" what's happening in the news" Genesis 2:17, Romans 16:19,
3rd consider why there's only bad, horrible, divisive news? Hebrews 6:8, Proverbs 22:5, Why do they report the one horrible thing or person & not the million good? Is it meant to trigger rage? Hebrews 12:1, Luke 6:43-45,
1John 2:16, Titus 1:15, 2Samuel 22:27, Psalms 18:26, 1John 3:3, 2Peter 3, James 3:17, James 1:27, Philippians 4:8, Romans 8,
1Corinthians 4:5,
The Word also says: Numbers 11:12, Jude 1,
Hopefully these are helpful & encouraging
In the Infancy Gospel (of Thomas), it was written far too late to be considered authoritative (in the 2nd Century, I understand). For instance, it presents the young Jesus as a temperamental, fickle, arrogant, and disobedient worker of magic; someone liberal with His curses. This aligns with some aspects of Gnostic thinking, and certainly with pagan views of the character of their gods. However, the character, words, and actions of Jesus as presented in the Infancy Gospel of Thomas are totally incompatible with Scripture. These works also attribute various miracles done during Jesus' childhood. Claims of Jesus' juvenile miracles stand in opposition to the Canonical Gospels, which present Jesus' miracle at Cana as "the beginning of (His) miracles" ( John 2:11).
To note also, when a Muslim is reminded of the Gospels which speak of Jesus' Life, he thinks in terms of this wretched Gospel of Thomas, even as Mohammed believed in it. So when the true Gospels are presented to the Muslim, they either come to him as a real eye-opener or a rejection of all. We sold or gave away many "true" Gospels to Pakistani Muslims, so they might learn they Truth.
So please stay well away from this book in particular - there may be interesting stories that you feel should have been included in the Bible, but those stories are just that - figments of one's imagination coupled with the someone's lust to weaken God's Word & to destroy the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Examples:
1 John 2:16
Mark 7:21-23
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Galatians 5:19-21
etc.
I will try to keep it short; this is my understanding.
We see at the end of Revelation 12 in the original text the dragon is standing on the sand and the first beast comes up out of the sea (abyss/bottomless pit). In Revelation 13 the dragon (Satan) gives this beast his seat, power, and great authority to this beast, and he makes war with the saints and overcomes them. He is given 42 months = 1260 days = 3 years. There is also in the site of this first beast another beast with two horns, the false prophet.
In Revelation 11:3 the two witnesses will prophesy 1260 days the same amount of time as the two beasts (great tribulation) the image people are made to worship, the mark to be able to buy or sell, and the killings of those that reject, (the hour of temptation).
In Revelation 11:7-8 this beast that comes out of the bottomless pit kills the two witnesses in the "city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt," (Jerusalem). This same beast we see in Revelation 9 and Revelation 17.
In Revelation, there are three the dragon (Satan), the first beast, and the false prophet (the second beast). If we go by the description of antichrist the only place in the bible given by John in 1 John 2:18,22 1 John 4:3 and 1 John 1:7 there are billions, not just one.
Hope this helps,
God bless,
RLW
You've been given great answers.
I also believe the oil represents anointing. 1 John 2:27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
We are ready because the Holyspirit seals us. Ephesians 1:13. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22.
In Revelation 1:12-13. the candlesticks mentioned here are oil burning lamp stands. A believer is to be a light to the world and that light should always shine on the one in the midst of the lamp stand. Our lord. Matthew 5:14-16.

Isaiah 44:6
I truly understand each one's point of view. If I may share my thoughts that made me know I am saved.
I read the entire animal blood sacrifices in the Old Testament for the atonement of sins and sanctification ( cleansed or washed away sins). Then one day I realized that the greatest gift our generation could ever received was the blood of Jesus Christ, ( a parallel sacrifice for our generation) to be our propitiation ( i.e. an act of appeasing wrath). I could have been put to death for my own sins, but instead Jesus Christ took upon himself my sins and others to save me and all of us from the wrath of God and give us an eternal/ everlasting life. Then make us live in the Kingdom of God here on earth.
1 John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Romans 3:25
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Then I realized I have to keep that Holy Spirit in me. I cannot explain how I started to read the Bible like my life depends on it. This happened on 11/11/21 when I know I was saved.
Since I was young I know I have some peculiar things happenings to me. I cannot explained them, but now I understood the God given gift of discernment. That is why at such a young age I made God as my best friend. People will say or do something that I know in my heart was wrong. I cannot explain then, but now God made it clear to me.
In conclusion, Jesus Christ is in me. I know.
Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I know Christians tonight who will commit fornication. I know Christians who will be out partying tonight, getting drunk, possibly doing drugs. Some will lie, some may steal, some may assault others. They do this because they hear the watered down gospel and are told that they're already saved, that they're already in the book of life, so their actions are irrelevant, they assume.
Every Sunday when they go to church they then hear the same verses you shared which reassures them that they're totally fine following the pleasures of the world and can enjoy all the benefits of sin they wish, like an all you can eat buffet. But is that why Jesus died on the cross- so His followers can use that as a free hall pass to commit unlimited sin and evil? The Bible already says the answer is no.
So, everyone giving only part of the story of salvation and omitting the importance of obedience is doing a grave disservice. People will go to hell over this and people should actually fear God like it says in Matthew 10:28. But people are afraid of offending someone, that they withhold the truth. Did Jesus withhold the truth so no one was offended? Did Paul?
But what about offending God and offending Jesus? Those who don't obey and who sin is like slapping Jesus in the face.
I'm offended that people are withholding Bible verses from those who need to hear them the most. I am offended at false teachings.
The fact is Jesus gave lots of commandments. Do we truly love Jesus enough to follow them?
John 13:34
John 15:12
John 15:10
John 14:15
Deuteronomy 11:22
1 John 2:15 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
The above verse should scare the daylights out of people who are currently loving and following the world. It should scare them to death and be the hugest wake up call. The end is near and time is short to get right with God. It won't happen automatically.
God bless.
It is a joy to belong to the Lord, He has already found a way out for us. So that All who believe in His Name will be saved.
1 Corintihans 10:13 The Word of God is the only weapon we have against the evil one. Jesus himself had to use the word against him in Matthew 4:1-11 My Bible is not hiding in a drawer and is not hidden away.
For me, this was a turning point. For i understood quite quickly that here it was spirit powers that would prevent / bind me into shame / bondage. Where i am, the Word of God is with, you do not know right when you meet a person who ponders something about the Lord :) It is also openly located on the kitchen table or in the living room. The Bible is my favorite, Number One, it's where we get to know the Lord, Each and every one of us Jesus believers must find out what is best for ourselves.
1 John 2:20-27 And do all things to the glory of God with a clear conscience. But never be ashamed, you have the Living God with you and He has all power in Heaven and on Earth! All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ.
Then everything else comes into place as we go. Learn by heart scriptures that strike back. Romans 1:16-17 Ephesians 6:10-20 GB
Good conscience, Christ suffered giving us example, trusting GOD not man.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ( Ephesians 2:8)
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. ( James 2:26)
Therefore, to believe the entire Bible and not just parts of the Bible we would need to say we are saved by both grace and works.
And many Biblical passages confirm this:
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ( James 4:7)
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. ( Hebrews 4:11)

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. ( Revelation 21:7)
Amen! When I graduated high school I received a KJV study bible as a gift. This sat on a shelf in its original box for over 20 years. It now is full of highlights and notes. It has travelled with me. It has become my "most valuable posession" and I praise God for this gift he layed upon someone's heart to provide to me.
God Bless You and may His word lay upon your heart even more than it has mine!
Well spoken.
1 John 2:12.
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you "FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE."
Who's name SAKE? God.
That speaks volumes!
John 3:18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Thanks and
God bless
a. Dispensationalism. I don't believe that seeing different dispensations in the Bible is altogether wrong. It would be wrong if everything you read must fit (or, be forced) into a dispensation category to make the Bible work. Rather than give details on the various dispensations, I would just say that there does appear some clear demarcations seen that could be of help to us in correct Bible hermeneutics, but that shouldn't be forced upon one as an essential to understanding & trusting in the Words in the Bible.
b. Can the Holy Spirit leave? When one has truly repented of sins, turned to Jesus in faith, & being born again, the promise to us is that the Holy Spirit comes to reside in us: 1 Corinthians 6:19 (i.e. His Presence is there to give us new life, Titus 3:5, 1 John 2:29); a new nature ( 2 Corinthians 5:17); sealing us ( 2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13); filling us ( Ephesians 5:18); & other ministries to guide, teach & comfort us. Yet, we can hardly fathom how intimately the Spirit works in us, drawing us closer to our Heavenly Father, & longing for us to be conformed to our blessed Lord Jesus. But if we step outside the Will of God, to disobey or to pursue a fleshly desire, then the Spirit in us will be grieved ( Ephesians 4:30), quenched ( 1 Thessalonians 5:19), outraged ( Hebrews 10:29), even resisted ( Acts 7:51). But does He leave us when we sin? No, He continues to minister to us bringing us to repentance, that we should call upon God to help us overcome & glorify Him in our lives. The true believer remains secure ( John 10:28), but we need to make sure we are indeed 'in the faith', experiencing God's Work in our lives.
c. Gluttony? Can be ranked with drunkenness or other obsessive, repetitive behaviour that slowly destroys the body God has given us. We need to take control over it, even if it means medical help & know that God desires our healing. It may not be sin, but can lead to it.
There is nothing in those three verses that describe a saved person losing their salvation. First of all, an enlightened person does not mean that that person is saved. John 1:9 tells us that every person coming into this world is enlightened to the truth. But everyone does not have the same response to the enlightenment. Some receive Christ, and some don't. Hebrews 6:4-6 is talking about those who were participating with believers, they were being enlightened to the truth, but they walked away from it. It doesn't say anything about them ever surrendering their lives to Christ.
We have people in our churches today, who look, and act, and talk, and believe just like a normal believer. They learn the language and learn the doctrines, and learn the lingo and say "praise the Lord," and they can learn how to put Jesus bumper stickers on their car correctly, and then one day they just disappear.
Did they lose their salvation? No, they were never saved at all and that is why they left. 1 John 2:19 says, "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
John says the reason why they left us is because they really were not one of us, because if they were one of us they would have remained with us. This would fit in with Hebrews 6:4-6. Also, if we understand the Parable of the Sower, it helps us to see who the the writer of Hebrews is talking about. They are not saved individuals who lost their salvation. They were there being enlightened to the truth just like everyone else. It's how they responded to that enlightenment. They either received Christ and were saved, or they walked away from that enlightenment, never being saved. And Hebrews 6:4-6 says the fell away. That was their response to the enlightenment. They never got saved.
