This verse just goes to show you whatever Jesus offers makes what mankind or the world offers pale in comparison. The same goes for life. You can live life and drink wine or you can live securely knowing you have eternal life. Whatever Jesus provides is best so it'd best to follow him to have the true wine.

That is not what I am saying in a nutshell at all. No believer has a right to commit those acts just because they are saved. A person who has received Christ, their sins are forgiven, past, present, and future. I am not saying that they are free to continue on in sin. I would never tell anyone that they are free to sin because Christ will forgive them.

You bring up 1 John 2:1 so I will share my understanding of that Verse. He says my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. The term sin is a verb and it is called the Subjunctive Mood. That might not mean anything to you, but it represents committing an act of sin. It is Aorist, single act, Subjunctive, possibility.



If we should commit an act of sin, then God has a provision for us. We can compare this to 1 John 3:9, where he says whoever is born of God does not commit sin, for His seed, that is, God's seed remains in him, and he cannot, or more literally, he is unable to sin because he is born of God.

In John's writings, and especially in the bible, there's a difference between an act of sin and a continuous lifestyle of sin. And that's what he's saying in Chapter 3. Whoever is born of God does not commit, that is, does not continuously live a lifestyle of sin because God's seed is in him. And he's unable to continually sin because he's born of God.



So he's telling us as believers that we do sin, but not habitually as a way of life like we did before we were saved. A person who is genuinely born of the Spirit of God and belongs to Christ continues to sin, but they are acts of sin. A true believer cannot continuously live a lifestyle of habitual sin.

And I don't think that Hebrews 10:26 is talking about saved individuals.

Everything is based on love, even the 10 commandments are based on love. Love for God and love for your neighbour, Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18. If you say that one does is not required to keep them, but yet they should convict you of sin. When you choose anything else above Christ, then you make it your idol.

In a nutshell you say that one can commit adultery, steal, kill, take God's name in vain, have other gods etc because Christ's love is there to forgive them. When we are told not to sin then what should you do so that you sin not, 1 John 2:1. But also in Hebrews 10:26, we are forbidden to sin knowingly. Unless you keep them, then you are convicted of sin.

The fact is that I righteous by keeping the law, but through believing that Christ died in my place so that I may live. But being forgiven does not mean you continue in sin. The Decalogue shows the character of God which is Love Deut 6:5, Leviticus 19:18. And John 14:15, 15:14 shows this more clearly. Christ called us into obedience as He did the Israelites, He delivered them from bondage and then gave them His Commandments Exodus 20:1,2. If I claimed to be saved and love God, yet I fornicate, kill, tell lies, steal, disobedient to parents etc, would this bring praise and followers for Christ? Read James 2, 1 John 2:1-6, 1 Cor 6:9-10, 2 Peter 3:16, Romans 13:8-10, 6:23 and you will see.

You need to get another Bible with center of the page reference columns. Each alphabet or number refers to another scripture that adds more illumination to the first. Some are current to that time or they are prophetic (future). You have to get what you need to study these things deeper. Sometimes you have to buy reference books. Yes, Jesus is deserving of praise. You do well to praise Him and realize that He is all you need. I agree that He died for all. There are many places in scripture that show that Christ shed His blood for all and that salvation is offered to all who will receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. You quoted Part of John 3:16, but here are a few other verses that agree with what you are saying: 1 Timothy 4:10, 1 John 4:14, 1 John 2:2, John 1:29, John 4:42, Hebrews 10:10, Romans 6:10, Hebrews 9:26, Hebrews 9:12.

So you are correct in saying that Jesus suffered and died for all, but unfortunately not all will receive Him. From what you are saying, I can assume that you've received Christ. Continue to praise Him and always keep Him first in your heart and life. God bless!

Jesse Yes Rome did murder many believers. Did you know the Vatican's head inquisitioner in Spain was Tomas Torquemada who was born of a Jewish family. He was responsible for many deaths of believers. Same group who killed Jesus and the apostles. The Jewish encyclopedia documents this fact.

Matthew 12:43-45. When you got saved, the demons got sent away. They study you for weaknesses (like they did to Eve in the garden). What you are experiencing is spiritual warfare. They're trying to get back in their old house... your body.

Go back and do the things you did when you first got saved. Go to 1 John 8-9, and 1 John 2:1, as often as you need to.

Satan accuses us to the Father, Jesus stands up as the Advocate (attorney for you), He finds your name recorded in his book, and declares you not guilty for lack of evidence (because He paid for your sins on the Cross).

Your faith in this will stop "them" from returning anymore.

Stay a while in 1 John and his other books.

In 1 John 2:1 it says that if you sin and Satan drags you up before the Throne of God, you have an ADVOCATE (sitting at Gods right arm). Jesus, your Advocate and attorney. He checks the Lambs Book of Life, sees your name written in it, and your case is dismissed for lack of evidence. Your sins have been blotted out with His blood.

It doesn't mean we can run amok and sin all over the place. We are to put ourselves in the Holy Spirits leadership, teaching; conviction when we do sin.

Fear hath torments. That's a demon with many little demons. It's their job to shake your faith in Jesus. The spirit of death causes some people to take their lives. They know they have no rights to do any of that to a Jesus trusting Christian.

In 1 John 1:9 you will learn to run to the Cross if you do sin and confess; be forgiven; renewed. I go there a lot.

We are washed clean by constantly renewing our minds with the Word of God. Your Bible. If we don't furnish our "homes" with Bible teaching; prayer: demons come back around to see if you have an opening for them. You can make them leave!

Say what you've learned: IT IS WRITTEN... and speak your scripture that you've planted in your heart.

Chris, I question that God just lets us go about our business without interfering. You say God created us and left us alone? But the Bible says otherwise. In Dan 11:29, the Angel tells Daniel that "at the Appointed Time" something will happen. That is a recurring theme throughout the Bible. Christ came at the Appointed Time. He will return at the Appointed Time. What does it mean to "appoint" something? Clearly, it is God who appoints. It is God who "Schedules". It is God who Plans and Determines the course of history. Isa 41:4, "Who has accomplished this? Who has determined the course of history from the beginning? I, the LORD, was there first, and I will be there to the end." (God's Word Translation). Isa 46:10, "I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come...'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.'

In Gen 18:14, Abraham is asked, "Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the Appointed Time I will return to you-in about a year-and Sarah will have a son." Was Sarah having a baby something God knew about the Future or something He deliberately Planned and caused to happen? Did God just want Sarah to have a baby, or was there a Purpose behind it? Did God Plan the birth of Isaac with a Purpose?

We can say that God knows what is in the heart of man, but how does He know it? See John 2:25, "But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew all men. He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man."

Let me interject, that while I have an opinion based on what is available, given my experience and studies, this is what I have concluded. But the fact is, I don't know. I could be wrong. You might be right. But this is how I see it.

Paul speaks of God's Pre-destination of our adoption, of being conformed to His image. Eph 1:11,'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure'. God is not just involved, He determines.
