John 3:16 is my favorite verse in the bible. It tells you how much he loved you just to die on the cross for you. He died for everyone's sins.

I am leaving in a single room with my wife and our two sons,as much as the room is very small to fit our family, Luke 9:58 is one of the verses in the Bible that give me courage on how my Lord left his glory in heaven and came on earth to be homeless that i may have a home to belong(Heaven)and a room to stay, yet he had no were to lay his head. Dear friend, have you yet come to Jesus for Salvation? For he said except a man be born again,he can not see the kingdom of heaven( John 3:3).You must be born again.

I am so thankful that god loved me enough even some nineteen hundred and some few odd years before I was even borned to send his only son that I might believe on him and be saved and I believe he love me enough to do it even if I would have been the only one that would believe in him and be saved. Thanks! To god for saving me and all the many others that believe the lord Jesus Christ

My Thoughts is that everything is God's he made us for is purpose not for our purpose. And when realize this and know how much He loved us we won't have problems putting Him first. For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten a Son that he that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 and this was His great gift to us. so our gift to Him is to put HIm first

Heaven is the spiritual realm all around us, Gen.22:11 "And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said here am I."
There are many accounts of angelic encounters throughout the scriptures, angels seen by mortal men, when these angels are not visible to the human eye that doesn't mean that they have vanished, but that they are only visible in the spiritual realm.
Rev. 1:10 John says " I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,and heard behind me a great voice,as of a trumpet"
John goes on to say the amazing things that he saw while in the Spirit. Not only does the spiritual realm of Heaven contain the angels, it also is presently home to the demons and the devil.
Job 1: 6 & 7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence cometh thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, form coming to and fro in the earth (natural realm) and from walking up and down in it.
Rev 12:8&9 "... neither was their place found any more in heaven(spiritual realm) (9) And the great dragon was cast out that old serpent called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth (natural realm) and his angels with him."
This is a bit scary to me, to think that Satan and his angels will be in a visible form, and maybe they are here now, some people do some pretty unimaginable things, but here is where hope lies
Rev. 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."
The new heaven and the new earth will be one just like it was in the garden of Eden. How wonderful it will be, Amen. Let us not "bite" at each other lest we be devoured and let our comments be for the growth of the body of Christ our Saviour. The scribes and the pharisees were religious, let us not be like that.
Religion is man made, we are God made.

    God bless

(Bane's)You are correct, God is mighty. But God has given us so much more than what you have found. The second generation christians did not loose the "Good News" (Gospel) but have through the generations been carring the tourch "Light of the Gospel". Gods focus for man has been his Son Jesus Christ. The bible shows him as the Light, Trurt, Way, Life, Sacrifice, and Sinless before God the Father. He humbled himself to take sin on his shoulders dieing sinful man on the cross of calvery. No matter what our upbringing or denominational belief Gods word has not changed. John 3:16 shows the depth of Gods love for sinful men. John 3:17-18 shows our nature before a rightous God. Knowing that God is-is not enough, Knowing that Jesus is-is not enough, Beliving and accepting personnally what God has done through his Son Jesus Christ--Admitting you are a sinner, Beliving Jesus died for your sins, Confessing those sins and taking the free gift of salvation making Him Lord and master in your life is salvation and the one thing God has for all men. Luke tells us Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost. Gods Holy Spirit indwells the beliver and fellowship with God Almighty is established through Jesus Christ Hie Son. This fellowship is eternal. Gods kingdom will come phisically as it comes spiritually. Both come literally! Study to show thyself approved of God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly deviding the word of truth. If you search Gods word with an open heart calling upon Him for the truth-He will answer. If we lean on the wisdom of men and thier teaching you will fall short of Gods truth. Do not take me for what I say, Rather Prove me wrong in the King James Bible! I do understand what you have related in word. Search a little deeper in the Word. Try reading the book of John... Gods truth will set you free. I myself grew up in a church that knew the truth but never challanged me to live Gods truth. I now go to a church that knows the truth and acts upon the truth. So I am challanged to live a life glorifying to God. (Gods standard not mans) I am not perfect but God is working on and through my life. What a differance this makes for me!!

"And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves." ( Luke 23:12)

What precedes wars and fightings? As Karl von Clausewitz analyzed war, his observations can be carried over into that which is beyond military combat.

His definition of war is "war therefore is an act of violence to compel our opponent to fulfill our will." He says, "War is always a serious means for a serious object."

James says, "From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war,yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." ( James 4:1-3)

James speaks of lust, Clausewitz said, "Everything which appears an advantage may be the object of a combat..."

The heart manifests lust, envy, hostility, and hatred unto war.

Have quickly hostility can manifest in the heart. A close examination of one's heart could show hostility. Hostility towards a comment made, or an action committed or omitted. It may not manifest itself into an open battle, but the hostility can remain in the heart. A polarity [Clausewitz] now exists (whether hidden in the heart, or openly manifested). Enemies are made.

Now enemies (polar opposites) with hostile hearts, war is declared (whether verbal or silent). You don't like that person, that person does not like you. The hostility can burn and enflame into hatred and the desire to kill. (whether with words, actions, or the desire for supremacy).

There may be many battles; many words and actions that convey hostility.

Sometimes action in the war can be suspended, without the war ending: circumstances may dictate an inaction. [Cluasewitz] Maybe you don't want someone to see or hear your hostility so you take it underground for awhile. Maybe you decide the place or time is not advantageous for you to get the advantage so you wait for a more advantageous moment. But, the hostility is still there; it's just being put on hold.

You may feel hostility, but recognize the person has superior power that could do you harm; so you hold off attacking; but, not because the hostility is gone; but, because you access the situation is not to your advantage.

    Hostility remains in the heart.

Clausewitz speaks of "reciprocal action." Also, reciprocal action of reciprocal action. One hostility begats another hostility...."Thus a continuance of action will ensue which will advance towards a climax."

If war is "a continuation of policy by other means", to have war there must be two or more opposing policies. If there are ten people sitting at a table and all ten have ten different policies (things they believe) anyone who speaks differently could be viewed hostilely. Everyone can be seeking to hold their policy, and hold their position as superior with hostility towards anyone who does not submit to their view.

Now as toward truth, we know we are to obey God (His policy). We are to speak the truth in love; but, even then, Jesus has said, "If they hated me, they will hate you." There will be those who do not want Jesus to be over them. They will not want to obey His Words (policy). They will be hostile toward Him, toward His Word, and toward His servants. They are hostile toward God, and at war with Him.

But, we who are the Lord's, if not careful, can harbor hostility in our hearts. We are admonished to "Keep thy heart with all diligence..." ( Proverbs 4:23)

We are to "follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled..." ( Hebrews 12:14-15)

Cain, Esau, Pharisees, scorners, etc. manifested hostile hearts.

John says, "...whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother." (I John 3:10)

Our hearts will either condemn us or commend us. If the heart manifests hostility, that hostility must be in opposition to something. If hostility remains, murder can be its climax.

Cain rose up against Abel in the field and slew him; why? because Cains works were evil and Abel's were righteous. Cain was hostile toward God and toward his brother. His hostility continued unto hatred and murder.

The heart of the matter is the heart.

Verbatim response to Mike's comment on 9/12/2011, 10:13am... ("how can a criminal steal and GOD almighty will sacrifice is only son for the criminal.)

Although the criminal knows death is the punishment, he doesnot want to die. God the just merciful, loving and just judge knows, and out of his love for the criminal, he sacrifices his son, to save the criminal's life provided the criminal belives in God' son, hence John 3:17. GOD'S LOVE IS NO WHERE ALLUDED TO THAN IN John 3:16 .

Once the criminal finds the deal too good to resist, HE HAS NO TIME TO UNDERSTAND, BUT TAKES THE DEAL STARIGHT AWAY, BEFORE THE CRAZE JUDGE CHANGES HIS MIND, AND GETS ANOTHER CHANCE TO LIVE. Mike if you were the criminal would you drop such a deal questioning God's ways and wisdom? By the way have you embraced God's love through Christ?

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

The criminal simply believes in the son of God as the propitiation for his crime- 1 John 2:2, confess the crime (or loads the crime on Christ to pay the penality), repents (deliberate decision not to commit the crime again) and gets baptised (symbol of renewal unto salvation Mark 16:16) and receives the Spirit of God ( Acts 2:38) to enable him to steal no more, and live an abundant life. The criminal is obliged to find the book ( bible) about the God of love and his son the epitome of the same, and reads it daily to develop the relationship with that God through his son.

The criminal finds a congregation (Church) of forgiven criminals ( saved, born again or believers) and fellowships, as he reaches out to others to embrace the pardon and live again.

Mike it is not easy to understand (as the song goes, " it wasnot easy, but was worthwhile) once you are not the criminal whose life lies at the noose of the hungman's mercy after the "verdit by the gavel" went, "guilty condemend to crucify!!!!!!!", otherwise, to a criminal the deal is too good to querry God's wisdom.

Another part of the question another time once by the grace of God. We love you Mike and pray for you. (SELW)

i believe that there is no one in heaven but God and His Son the Bible does not teach the immortality of a soul=nephesh the only way out is Resurection The Bible says that any believer that has died he has fallen asleep in Christ it will take the awsome power of Reurection to raise that person. This is a lie of satan that is being taught in the churches that a person dont die that he goes to heaven at death this is hog wash God said THOU SHALT SURELY DIE SATAN SAID THOU SHALT NOT SURELY DIE. It should be—“for sin is lawlessness.”

    William Kelly :1 Jean 3:4.
"Whosoever doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness?" This is a very different rendering from that of the A.V.; ...
Sin is not breach of law but lawlessness.
-This is the true sense. No other rendering is possible legitimately. What has ruled here is an utter mistake, founded on making the law instead of Christ the rule of life for the Christian, as people do who understand not the scriptures .

Genesis 3:15. A question I ask and most theologians skip over or refuse to address is who was the seed or offspring of the serpent? If GOD put enmity (great hatred) between the serpent’s seed and the woman’s seed, then surely GOD would not have put enmity between Adams first born and Eve. Cain had to have been the product of a union between Eve and serpent. See 1 John 3:12.
I believe this was Lucifer’s first attempt to kill Jesus by polluting the blood line of the first born with satanic DNA. No where is Scripture is Cain or Abel named as a sons of Adam.

No verses in the bible to support these declaration. About the five verses you have shared even one verse did not declared water baptism is for the forgiveness of sin. The verses was not talking about water baptism is for the forgiveness of sins. In John 3:5, you cannot read the word baptism, but the word used is born again. For you the word baptism is synonymous to born again in meaning. Also, where is your verse that the Apostles are doing/performing the baptism of Spirit. Literally there are verses to read for the forgiveness of sins is our true faith to our Lord Jesus Christ. supporting verses Mat. 9:2 & Acts 10:43. While baptism of water is for the forgiveness of sins is no verses in the bible to support these arguments.

First of all in my comments I didn't say anything about rapture. In my reading of the Holy Bible I see the Lord telling His men/disciple/church etc that He comes back so that they could expect His coming.
    John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

    Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that LOOK for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation
    1 Corinthians 1:7
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

    1 Thessalonians 2:19
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
    1 Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
    1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Colossians 3:4
When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also APPEAR with him in glory.
    Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we LOOK for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

    1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet APPEAR what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
    1 Corinthians 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming

    1 Thessalonians 4:15 - 17
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the COMING of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Church is expecting the coming of the Lord their Savior. We children of light and of the day. We are not going to sleep at all; we are not going to lose our faith.

The coming of the Lord is not as a thief in the night for the Church. The prepared Church is expecting His coming, His saints, His holy ones are awaiting His arrival. They are not going to sleep as the 10 virgins slept (While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.). They are not preserved or kept for the darkness. But those that are choosing to receive Him at night (spiritually speaking) will meet Him when He comes from the wedding. ( And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.).

    Amos 5:18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what END [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light.
    Job 36:20
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
    John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the NIGHT cometh, when no man can work.

    1 Thessalonians 5: 1 - 10
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

So I think, we must expect Jesus and receive Him and be with Him forever rather than being part of those who are waiting for the ati-Christ.

When a person who has faith in God's word and trully understand the meaning of Baptism thru obedience to his word, and accept the process of salvation in his life, says in v-21 (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) God is happy to see the heart of man/woman with a good conscience toward God. Baptism in Jesus name( Acts 2:38)is our submission to the will of God,Holy Spirit baptism( Acts 2:1-4)is the confirmation that God accepted our submission & as children of God, heirs to his kingdom. See Romans 8:9,14-17, Ephesians 1:13 ( 1 Pet 3:21).

Did you know that: Born again( John 3:1-7)is the only way to enter into the Kingdom of God,Jesus requires born in water and born in spirit( John 3:5)born in water means baptism, baptism in Jesus name, born in spirit means Holy Spirit baptism.two baptism needed in order to enter into the Kingdom of God.

    I. The Warning
    a. This section of Paul’s letter to the Colossians is a warning about being drawn
    away by false teachers.
    b. Paul disposes of the Docetic theory that Jesus had no human body as well as the
Cerinthian separation between the man Jesus and the spirit of Christ.
    c. He warns them about teachers who bring deceitful notions about Christ which
    would lead believers astray.
    d. He warns about being drawn away by cheap substitutes and false notions and tells
us to stay away from anything that is not the Christ that he preaches.
    II The Superiority of Christ
    a. It pleased the Father that in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
He, as man, was not merely God-like, but GOD. Col 1:19; 1 Tim 3:16
    b. The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ really, and not figuratively; for he is
both God and man. Matt 1:23
    c. Paul asserts that "all that the Godhead is," not just certain aspects, dwells in Christ
and in physical form. Phil 2:6-11
    d. The fullness of the Godhead was in Christ before the Incarnation ( John 1:1); and
during the Incarnation. 1 John 1:1-3.
    e. It was the Son of God who came in the likeness of men, thus, he asserts plainly
both the deity and the humanity of Jesus Christ in corporeal form. John 3:16-1 therefore Jesus was not an angel he was better then the angels read it again Jesus was God in flesh.
Col 2:8-9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the
tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.9 For in him
dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. KJ

What does Jesus say about faith? "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ( John 3:16-18) What does Jesus say about them who believe not? "But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." ( John 10:26-29) Jesus said, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. ( John 12:46-48) "Without faith it is impossible to please [God]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is..." ( Hebrews 11:6) Jesus came. People saw. People heard. Some believed. Their hearing and seeing Jesus led to belief; their belief on what they heard, saw, and believed became their faith. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." ( Romans 10:17)

I think God is trying to get Oness believers and Trinitarians believers to come together and not be so divided saying the other side is going to hell because they don't believe in One True God.
John 3:16 says if I believe in Jesus I should not perish. Jesus also says you can't get to the Father but through Him. Col 3:16 says that whatsoever you do in word or deed do it all in the name of Jesus giving thanks to God and the Father by Him (Jesus). So if you baptize in the name of Jesus you aren't leaving out the Father. I am going to Heaven dispite what any denomination says. I believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and I can't get to the Father but by him. So I was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ giving thanks to God and the Father by Him. This fighting over the GodHead is not right we all have to have faith in God. Jesus ios the head of the Church and since He is God and Head is this not the God Head.
Jesus has been given all power so who is more powerful than Him? He is the only Savior. So if you believe in Jesus and have obeyed the Gospel of Jesus Christ you will be saved.

@ Anonymous: In the bible there are verses that support the baptism of water for remission of sins, for example: Mark 1:4: "John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the BAPTISM of repentance for the remission of sins". But this does not mean that you were headed to the kingdom of God; there is a little bit more to that. You asked what is the procedure to enter the Kingdom of God:
1: Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the BAPTISM of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
2: Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by BAPTISM into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
3: Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

And summing it all up for us to understand clearly: John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

So Baptism of water is needed for remission of our sins and the baptism of spirit is needed for the faith in the operation of God. In other words your sins has to be "washed" away and professed publicly (baptism of water) and the baptism of spirit has to change your lifestyle into one of Faith in God (Baptism of spirit).

I hope herewith to have answered your question as to the meaning and function of baptism in water and what the procedure is to get into the kingdom of heaven.

John 3:1 "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: bloved, therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not."

2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as he is."

3 "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

Paul said. "If thine eye be single, they body be full of light, but if thine eye be double, they body be full of darkness." Then he says, "ye cannot serve both God and mammon."

What he is saying is to keep our focus always on the things of God. If we look at the world as our saviour, we are lost. What does the world offer: The lust of the flesh. The beliefs we are both material and spiritual. God created us in His image. Therefore, instead of dwelling on the body, money, things etc. focus on the one FACT. God made us after His image. That is whom I am, no matter what the world says. If we focus on the temporal body, we are full of darkness. If we focus on the beliefs of others, we lose our focus. If we focus on money as our salvation from poverty, we lose our focus, health, etc. Focus, every time a challange comes, on the one fact. God made us in His image and likeness, and that is who you are. We are not made after Adams image and likness, that is what the world focuses on in its darkness. Adam and Eve chose to be as gods(little g),and they lost sight of their perfection as made in God's likeness. They then believed themselves as creators. Thus a disruptive enviroment became their focus. We chose to come into this world of their idoltry, to help bring the focus back into the Paridise God formed for our perfect enviroment, to strengeth our souls as children of God, so we never make the same mistake Adam and Eve did.

Keep thine eye single at all times. It is a wonderful way to stand with God, Jesus, the perfect son, and eternal life, forever in His perfection. God did not create a disruptive, dark, and discordent world. That came when the mist covered the eyes of Adam and Eve and they lost sight of whom they were in God's likeness.

Thus God found the willing heart, in the linage of Abraham, and brought us His word, in order for us to regain our sight on the eternal, perfect, wonderful world He created for us, which was lost sight of in the garden of Eden. Jesus was the sacrificaL LAMB, UNSPOTED FROM THE WORLD, TO BRING US THE PATH OF SALVATION. He said," I am the light of the world. Those whom follow me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." and more abundantly." "Come unto me ye that labor and are heavy laden and I shall give you rest."
My life has proven this. Every cross road, when I stayed focused on the light,(Truth)it has brought me through, in healing ways. It has not been easy, and I am greatful, as I might have lost focus, thinking I did not need God, and would not know the walk through the world through His unblemished son, is how I can overcome the world. His Love is eternal. Satins is a hate filled, sick, lost way, and is eternal darkness of which in these last times, all of its disruptions will be clensed away, from the earth, and lost forever from Paradise. Stay focused on the Fact you are created in the image of God. Find solice in the 91 psalm.

Thank you for your acceptance that your answered is not the way/process a Man Soul can enter into the kingdom heaven. Reading all the verses you gave to my second questioned specifically that water baptism through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ our sins will be forgiven. All the verses of your answered was not talk about water literally cleansed our sins. One of your verses you quote is in John 3:1-7, Reading these verses you cannot read the word Baptism, maybe you interpret this that there is a water baptism here literally. But, Actually the word used is Born again. The word born again is not synonym to the word baptism even if we look in the Webster Dictionary. Baptism means there's someone who performs the work while born again means you are the one's performing the work.

V.23 - Response to question of 8-6-11 about the process to enter the kingdom of heaven. May I explain that the kingdom of heaven is that realm in which the will of God is fulfilled, rather than a place. Among many Bible verses, John 3:16. states the promise and the process(which is by "believing", faith, actively relying on Jesus, we receive the life that enables one to do God's will. As Jesus explained to Niccodemus in John 3:5, one must be born from above to enter this kingdom. This eternal life is also the only passport to the place called heaven. 1 Thess.4:17 says "We (believers with faith in His promises) shall forever be with the Lord. As Heb. 10:22-23 state, "Let us draw near in full assurance of faith....and hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.

V.16. Precious! The word "begotten" is supported by the original "monogenae", which is defined as "peculiar generation" (belonging to genetically). Adam was the created son of God (Lu.3:38) and believers are now the (adopted) sons of God(1 Jn.3:2), but no others were begotten sons of God, borne by a human mother.

To "believe" means to trust in and rely on, rather than just mental assent of a fact. The devils also believe and tremble (Js.2:19) but the promise is not extended to them.

I suppose this everlasting life and exemption from perishing is for now during this life. When Moses lifted up the serpent (v.14) the ill were healed imediately, not after they died. Although unbelievers are condemned already (v.18) because of Adam's sin, this promise says believers "HAVE" eternal life presently. "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death (Rom.8:2). Maybe there is more freedom from the results of the fall available by "believing" and applying the promises than we have been aware of.
