    Ge.3:1

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made."

Of his fulness every body reveals the glory in varying measure, meaning no two bodies are same. Serpent received his share as any other. When you apply this to the level of the body of Christ the church, we shall understand the significance of the Pauline dictum:"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:/ Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:"(Ep.4:11-12)

Coming back to His creation God blessed them so the subtlety of the serpent was commendable. It is in this sense Jesus commends his disciples to take note of, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."(Matt.10:16) The serpents are wisdom, wisdom of which was emblematic of the divine blessing.

Fall of man or Corruption did not come from subtlety of the serpent. In paying heed to it another doctrine had got in by stealth. What was need for another when you have the perfect within? "Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?"(Jas.3:11). Doctrine of God was the same as of the Son. He declared, "I do always those things that please him"( John 8:29). This is what the Spirit means by the Psalm quote mentioned above. "The law was within my heart."

This same corruption we find where the heart is not established by grace; instead man's treasure conceals contraband goods,- riches of mammon. Serving mammon is evil communication which corrupts good manners. It is thus prosperity theology has corrupted great many, an evil.

Yes, I was surprised as well. You can look up Marcion and see how out of the sound doctrine of the apostles he had strayed. He taught that the god of the OT was evil and the God of the NT good, so he rejected all of the OT, and believed himself to be a prophet, and followers exhibited many of the strange behaviors of some in the Pentecostal sects who bark, laugh uncontrollably, roll on the floor, faint, etc. (of course calling it the work of the Spirit). He espoused a form of dualism that was very wrong and spiritually dangerous.

I have read of some today who think as Oseas does, and that is very disturbing. Many of his posts are a bit off, but this one concerning God revealed in Scriptures is very unbiblical.

I do think of when Jesus called Himself "I Am" when He said "before Abraham was, I Am. He would have said the Hebrew name spoken to Moses here and the chief priests wished to stone him for blasphemy for calling Himself God. ( John 8:58)

Here Jesus is saying that He is YHWH, the only true God. so, as for me, I choose to believe Jesus, not Oseas or anyone else who says that the God of the OT Jews was evil or the devil.

I guess, having a forum such as this will introduce us to some very crazy doctrines and some wicked ones at that.

    criptures.

    Hi Oseas

You wrote that YAHWEH is the name of devil? You cited John 8:44-45. But in those verses there is no reference in such a name. Actually there is no mention of that name in the new Testament but only in the Old Testament.

In 2 Thes 2:3-4, Paul writes about the antichrist who will sit in the temple of God in Jerusalem and will ask people to worship him as a God. But he is not God and his name is not known now.

Brother, where have got those beliefs from? Claiming that YAHWEH refers to devil is something really extraordinary, never heard anybody say that before. You are completely wrong. Do you attend a church or you study on your own? You need somebody to lead you inside the Word of God properly. I suggest that you join a congregation.

Yeshua or Jesus means "God is salvation" in Hebrew.

    Hi Friends

As I was reading the words of God, this morning, Luke 13:24-28

Does this not speak to all who believe that there is no overcoming of sin in this present life

" they believe they ate & drink in His presence, & believed that " He taught in our streets".

Yet, the Lord plainly states; Luke 13:27

This reminds me of Matt 7:21,22

This reveals the utter deceitfulness of sin, that Satan has no lack of power to deceive 2Thess 2:9,10

He even has such power to call fire down from heaven. Rev 13:11-16 this is describing false Christianity, listen to what the Scriptures reveal, Rev 13:11 had an image like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. Teaching that one can be a Christian & know God & continue in sin for life, despite the testimony of Christ, John 8:24, 1John 3:6

Then we have Hebrews 10:26-29; the whole context of these Scriptures here is " sinning is past tense, over, done away with."

They pray, but they regard; Psalms 66:18; in light of the above Scriptures, who do you thing is answering their prayers?

Again, all power in all deceitfulness of unrighteousness, ,,,sin ! 2Timothy 3:5 Rev 18:4

Luke 11:33-36 the whole body be full of Light, "Christ" having no dark part, no darkness at all" Revealing "Consummation of Sanctification of the Spirit, obedience unto righteousness unto holiness, partaker's of the Divine Nature.

It also reveals, If one continue in sin for life, then it obvious that there's darkness within & Matt 6:23

Folks, I speak as one concern, I found that in life motions one can be caught up in doing this or that, the swiftness in which life is pasting by, & the world continually drawing us to it concerns, one doesn't stop & truly consider what Holy Spirit plainly states in the Scriptures or why they have not experience it,

Churches are teaching contrary to Scriptures, all are singing a lullaby; cause everybody else is doing it, some more some less, status quo, so it must be true? NOT ! 1Thessalonians 4:7

You said "'Lord of the hosts" means "the Almighty God", and He is the most powerful being in the universe'"; Yes, but the person you refer to be Him is not the true GOD, the Word, Father of the Lord JESUS Christ, and the name of Him you cited -"YAHWEH" - is wrong; In fact, it is the name of the father of the Jews- John 8:44-45-, Paul Apostle spoke about him: 2Thes.2:3-4:

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God(Jerusalem), shewing himself that he is God. Actually, YAHWEH is one of the several names of the father of the Jews, the Devil. I can listed them all.

The Word made flesh-JESUS-, said: I and my Father are One. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY- Revelation 1:8. In fact, my Lord JESUS is the LORD of the lords. And He said: All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth- Matthew 28:18.

The "I Am" is Yeshua - JESUS - not YAHWEH, this is one of the names(or nicknames)of Devil.

Yes, as JESUS revealed,"when unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places seeking rest". The dry places where the unclean spirit walks are the men made by the dust in the belly of the Serpent( John 8:44-45), and are without the Spirit of GOD, without the Spirit of Christ, as was Israel, the clay, the dry land. The unclean spirit finds none among them which were born again from GOD and really remain in the body of Christ. 1John 5:18-19->18 We know that whosoever is born of GOD sinneth not; but he that is begotten of GOD keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 19 And we know that we are of GOD, and the WHOLE WORLD lieth in wickedness.(Because they live in the belly of the Serpent, and only within them the unclean spirit finds rest.)

The unclean spirit saith: I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished./ Then goeth the unclean spirit, and taketh with himself (7) seven other spirits more wicked than himself,

    1Peter 5:8-9

8 Be sober,be vigilant;because your adversary the Devil(the old Serpent),as a roaring lion,WALKETH about, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Job 1:6-There was a Day when the sons of GOD came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan(the Old Serpent)came also among them.(By the way,we are entering the Day of the Lord, the last millennium)

    Reevelation 11:15-18

15 - The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

    ...

The battle is against three unclean spirits like frogs: Revelation 16:13-15

13 I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 They are the spirits of devils, working miracles...

    15 Behold, I come as a thief. ...

    V. Sin is of one nature all the world over; for though a liar is not a drunkard, nor a swearer a whoremonger, nor either properly a murderer, yet they are all of a church; all branches of the one wicked root; all of kin. They have but one father, the devil, as Christ said to the professing Jews, the visible church of that age: he slighted their claims to Abraham and Moses, and plainly told them "That he that committed sin, was the servant of sin." John 8:34,35. They did the devil's works, and therefore were the devil's children. The argument will always hold upon the same reasons, and therefore good still: "His servants ye are," saith Paul, "whom ye obey:" (Rom. vi. 16:) and saith John to the church of old, "Let no man deceive you; he that committeth sin is of the devil." 1 John3:7,8 Was Judas ever the better Christian for crying, Hail, Master, and kissing Christ? By no means; they were the signal of his treachery; the tokens given by which the bloody Jews should know and take him. He called him Master, but betrayed him; he kissed, but sold him to be killed; this is the upshot of the false Christians' religion. If a man ask them, Is Christ your Lord? they will cry, God forbid else: yes, he is our Lord. Very well; but do you keep his commandments? No, how should we? How then are you his disciples? It is impossible, say they. What! would you have us keep his commandments? No man can. What! impossible to do that without which Christ hath made it impossible to be a Christian? Is Christ unreasonable? Does he reap where he has not sown? Require where he has not enabled? Thus it is, that with Judas they call him Master, but take part with the evil of the world to betray him; and kiss and embrace him as far as a specious profession goes; and then sell him, to gratify the passion that they most indulge. Thus as God said of old, they make him serve with their sins and for their sins too. Isa 43:24

    Friends,

& what Jesus says in John 8:34 Matt 5:48 ?

    Vagabond (1 of 2)

Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me." (v.14)

A vagabond is one with no fixed address floating around like invasive species creating problems to the law and native citizenry. Cain realizes that he was one. God as the creator drives him out as he had sent his father from His presence. Even where his parents had reared with sweat of their labor he was too hot to handle. God gave him good counsel as to how he could manage his anger but no! he simply could not handle the burden of sin. Now he was a murderer and a slave to sin. Jesus was a son who learned his lessons well so when he came to the world he had understood the key to an overcoming life. He was the truth. He said with an emphasis, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin./ And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever." ( John 8:34-35)

Jesus was the truth so he would in the likeness of men would say "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head."(Matt,8:30) But does that make him a vagabond? "I am the Truth and he assured, "In my Father's house are many mansions." Jesus was well aware where he came from and where he was going to. He was the Word become flesh so he submitted himself to perfect the will of the Father.

    Ronald,

You are Absolutely Right that God is JUST! Yet, I ask this question: who is responsible for sin? Answer: satan. Justice demands that the one responsible Pays for what he has done. We are vessels, is a vessel responsible for what someone put inside of it? Satan is responsible for evil, John 8:44 ; and God is Responsible for good, Mark 10:18.

Ronald, your faith is your faith. Whether you believe or don't believe is up to you and God but I ask you to LOOK! What I proclaim is MERCY, what is being used to combat MERCY? Hatred and wrath. I say "God is GOOD!" And the response is "NO!" I've explained and am willing to continue to explain, but just as Christ had to bear the hatred BECAUSE He taught mercy, I as His servant will have to bear hatred and wrath for proclaiming MERCY.

The Message that I proclaim is that sinners WILL go to hell and Suffer, yet there is Salvation for them also!

When Christ says, "Depart from Me, ye cursed" could it be that He is speaking to the demons that are inside that Made them act evilly?

And, yes there are some who will go to the lake of fire, but I point to, Psalms 104:4. For the lake of fire is eternal, yet God is able to make His ministers a flaming fire; can you think of the one thing that fire doesn't burn? Answer: Fire.

Romans 8:35-39. Nothing can separate us from The Love of God.

Simply put; the Holy Spirit is the method of displaying Christ's presence on earth. Hebrews 6:4-8 as well as 1 Peter 2:3 show that those who have tasted the heavenly gift and other things of the Spirit as well as the powers of the coming age to be renewed once again to repentance once fallen away. This ties in for several reasons to the text in Matthew 12:31. We must remember first of all that much like Satan Himself Christ's works were made manifest for all men to see and thus nothing more could be done after witnessing undeniable miracles such as blind being healed which had never been seen in O.T. times. Also; of course the Pharisees accused him of using the power of Beelzebub to perform His miracles; despite the fact that the Spirit even before the church age was there such as with John the Baptist to convict the world of sin; righteousness and judgment to come. ( John 16:8). The Pharisees denied the Divinity of Christ and that was after all they saw and Christ saying that He was the I AM ( John 8:58). Therefore they wouldn't accept worshipping Him and His Divinity as a member of the Godhead was hidden from them. Therefore Satan was truly their God. ( John 8:44).

Satan Himself was built on pride and self-exaltation therefore was mad enough to desire worship for himself despite being in heaven and seeing God's glory and no doubt the earth and the rest of Creation therefore he was given no chance of repentance ( Job 38:7). We see singing in that verse; something Lucifer as Cheribum was designed to do in charge of worship but it was turned to evil. By default then Satan is the God and loyalty of all who do this to the Spirit; most will sin and admit God is righteous or simply hate God or be afraid (as in the sixth seal); eventually Satan will be sent for those who LOVE not the truth but a lie ( 2 Thess. 2:10). Like it or not Antichrist will eventually blasphemy God and yet all those not in the Book of Life will worship him and be damned ( Rev. 13:8).

    GiGi on Numbers 35-YHWH instructs...

    1-YHWH

    2-Yahweh,

    3-Yehovah,

    4-Elohim,

    5-Adonai,

    6-HaShem,

    7-Yahusha

    8-YEHshia

    9-Jehovah

    10-YEHvah

These 10 are one.Wouldn't they be the name of the father of the Jews? John 8:44-45.

I am asking because according to the Word of GOD-the Word is GOD-, Acts 4:11-12 say:

11-JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other NAME under HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.(Yes, there is none other NAME under HEAVEN except JESUS,that is the NAME that the own GOD chose for He Himself.JESUS said:I and my Father are One- John 10:30.And in the fourth Day after Adam,or around 2000 years ago,JESUS said: My Father worketh hitherto(it was still the fourth Day),and I work- John 5:17). In my understand,GOD was never called by nicknames as above listed. The name of GOD is only one:JESUS.

I don't quite understand why people lend credence to Kabbalistic and esoteric, and spiritists, sources(?)Think about it.

"Yehovah", "Yehovih", et al. as above listed, are considered sacred names in Kabbalah,so what? I find this absurd. But what does the Word of GOD say? 1Tim.4:1-2:

    1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of GOD:because many false prophets are gone out into the world- 1John 4:1.

    1Jn 5:19-20:

19 We know that we are of GOD,and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

20 And we know that the Son of GOD is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

May our Lord GOD bless and keep us,and give us His protection, now,and for ever.

    Amen

Spencer, this seems like an unusual response from you about my post on the 10 commandments.

    >It has never been anything close to an argument whether killing, stealing, adultery, ect was a sin or not on this site, and you know that.

    "and you know that"?

What an unusual comment from you. Surely you're not pretending to know my thoughts that only God knows?

I stand by what I wrote and God knows your heart and motives for every word you say. It's a fact that Christians often try to justify sin through clever little cherry picking of verses and this occurs on this site. There was someone just recently who wrote it's impossible for Christians to sin and that our actions don't matter. This is a false teaching. It's unusual that you claimed "never been anything close to an argument..." because that's obviously untrue.

I'm not sure whether you haven't read some of these threads on this or just generally denying it. Christians sinning was such a big deal that's why Jesus warned His followers so much about it over and over, including through parables. If it wasn't such a big deal, Jesus wouldn't have repeated this over and over. John 8:11 "go, and sin no more" etc.

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

The truth needs to be shared on this forum, because there is a lot of misinformation and lies often repeated. Satan loves deceiving Christians and getting them to do his work. I feel led by the spirit to warn Christians, because people are ignoring Jesus's words and time is running out. John 14:15 Most people in the US call themselves "Christian" but Jesus says most people will go to hell. Jesus will help go after his true followers (sheep), but He doesn't go after wolves to "save" them, and He doesn't go after wolves in sheep's clothing. Matthew 7:13-21

1 Cor. 2:15. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man ( John 8:15,16; 16:11; 17:16).

Comments posted on this discussion forum, that just tell a story but cannot provide deliverance from 'spiritual' bondage or salvation to mankind, raise many questions according to God's judgment.

    Do they follow after an image of a false God ( Exodus 20:3,4,7) and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Luke 9:55;

2 Cor. 11:13-15; Gal. 4:8; Rev. 12:9) or do they remain ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, but have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God ( Romans 10:3).

    Hi Valswords

The very content of your statements, indicates that God has not withdrew His Spirit from you in seeking & saving that which is lost.

Why is it not recorded that Jesus did not tell the woman at the well, to go & sin no more, we know not, He spent 2 days with them at Samaria preaching the good new of the kingdom, & part of that news is John 8:34 "includes all sin whatsoever".

You have honestly acknowledge your continuing in sin, this is the His Holy Spirit dealing with you according to John 16:8 & Titus 2:11,12

When He convicts of sin, He also reveal righteousness , showing you what to do instead,

I ask you, has He not done this, could it be that your not wanting to hear what is being reveal to you?

Friend, your eternal happiness & well being is at stake here, continue your conversations with Him, in simplicity & truthfulness

He will confirm to you the answer, love the Truth with all your heart, pick up your cross & follow the Way, the Truth & the Life.

    Hi Jesse

it wasn't a light things in Paul's day to be a Christian, one could experience the things that Saul did to Christians, before he became Paul.

    you stated:

We are to judge those who are inside. Why? Because those inside the church who are involved in sin, they must be dealt with in order that they might repent."detailing a person who has not yet repented"

Paul's speaking about being a member of the body of Christ here, how can one be in the church, & has not yet repented?

    a quote from William Penn

Sin is of one nature the world over. For though a liar is not a drunkard,

nor a swearer a whoremonger, nor either properly a murderer, yet they are

all of one church; all branches of the one wicked root, all of kin. They have

but one father, the devil, as Christ said to the professing Jews, the visible

church of that age. He slighted their claims to Abraham and Moses, and

plainly told them that "everyone who sins is a slave to sin" ( John 8:34).

The Jewish religious leaders did the devil's work, and therefore were the

devil's children. The argument will always hold upon the same reasons, for

as Paul said: you are slaves to the one whom you obey, ( Rom 6:16); and

said John to the church of old, "Let no man deceive you; he that commits

sin is of the devil" ( 1 John 3:7-8). Was Judas ever the better Christian for

crying, "Hail, Master," and kissing Christ? By no means; they were the

signal of his treachery; the signs given so the bloody Jews could identify

    Him and arrest Him. Judas called Him Master, but betrayed Him;

he kissed, but sold Him to be killed; the same is the result of the

    false Christian's religion.

how many who would call themselve Christian's today, members of His Body, fall underneath this judgment & be put away because of their continuing in sin?

society today is a direct reflection of the state of this false church of Rev 17 preaching you can be a Christian & yet continue in sin. Mark 7:7 Titus 1:11

    Friends,

There is no earn salvation, in being obedient to God commands.

Obedient does show our love for Him, according to Scrip

Believing, loving & obedience go hand in hand, it's the proof of having one of the other, aligns us with the whole of Scripture to all those who walk in the faith of Abraham James 2:18-24

    Titus 3:5

States to those who believe, there are works of righteousness to be done, that all may see & glorify our Father who is in heaven. Matt 5:16

Yet, it's not by these works that we are being saved, but by His Mercy, Who causes us by His Spirit influence upon our hearts to will & do of His good pleasure & His good pleasure is to love Him, become obedient, which shows itself forth as these works of righteousness.

1Pet 1:22 Seeing ye have purify your souls in obeying the Truth, states obedient purifies us by 1Pet 1:23 by hearing & becoming obedient to the incorruptible Word of God that lives & abides forever is how we become born again.

This is the working out of our salvation with fear & trembling, the sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, stating the progressional work of "washing of regeneration & renewing in the Holy Spirit" bringing us unto obedience. & sprinkling of the Blood/Life of Jesus in our hearts that cleanses & purges out not only the sin, but the evil one from our heart, who influence us to sin.

Folks, the very essence of the Salvation is obedience, & one must learn obedience, eventually bringing us to become holy, blameless, unreproachable & acceptable in His Sight. Col 1:22

Hebrews 5:9 states there must be obedience to be born again, & Jesus becomes the Author of their eternal salvation

Again, it's only by His merciful loving kindness that we are empower to these works of righteousness, which conforms us into the Image of the Obedient One. Rom 8:29 Who always did those things that pleases the Father John 8:29 John 14:31

Thanks GiGi for the things you shared & though much of it I do agree to, as you would expect, the matters of the Gospel's meaning & Abraham's view of Jesus, are points in disagreement here. I won't add to what Giannis has shared with you now, about the Gospel (i.e. its meaning & application to those in both Covenants), or what David0921 & I had already discussed at length concerning it, but to the matter of Abraham (as seen in John 8:56).

John 8:56: "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad." You believe that Abraham of old "saw into the future and rejoiced to see the work of Christ for Himself and those who believed Godforeseeing the Resurrectionetc". When we read this portion in John 8:52-58, the Jews (the religious leaders), accused Jesus of having a devil for Jesus spoke of those who would never see death (v51), since Abraham, as others, experienced death. Jesus was a liar in their minds. Then they question Him, "whom makest thou thyself?": He answers, 'that He receives the honor of God & thus speaks the Words of God, the God whom they did not know'. If they truly knew the God of Israel & now Jesus, as one greater than Abraham & the prophets, they would have believed Him. Onto Page 2.

    Hi GiGi,

No, I do not mind. I understand the Trinity doctrine is deeply rooted, and I do not want to offend. But this doctrine was placed equal in value with there is only salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Without this doctrine one cannot be saved, please let me know if that is wrong.

My understanding, God cannot sin, and God cannot be tempted, Scripture is clear God sent His only begotten Son not Himself, John 3:16. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit without measure to do all the miracles, and the work Jesus was sent to do by the Father. John 8:29 John 12:44 John 14:24.

Jesus humbled Himself, Phil. 2:8 Jesus was made flesh for the suffering of death, Heb. 2:9. Jesus was tempted the same as we are, Heb. 4:15. Jesus was born under the law, Gal. 4:4. Jesus fulfilled the law that only flesh could do. If he was not able to sin He could not fulfill the law, it would be a farce, God could not fulfill a law He wrote for man, man had to fulfill it. Matt. 12:28 Luke 4:1 John 3:34

Everlasting in Isaiah 9:6 it is the Hebrew word ad that means perpetuity a bond or a contract without an end, forever. We both agree God is eternal no beginning or end, but the Son is begotten/brought into existence before anything not created. When that was? Scripture only covers from the beginning.

Isaiah 9:6 Some things have been debated some say it was about Hezekiah. I feel it is about Jesus, but it could be looked at, as part of it about His first coming and part of it when He sets up the kingdom on earth. The titles or names in this verse, and how we understand them.

"His name shall be called" Many Hebrew names have God in them but that does not change who they are and mean they are God. The name is a vehicle to express things of God, it is the power of the name. and we see this through scripture. God was manifested through His Son, 1 John 1:1-2. That was what Jesus was saying to Philip in John 14:8-11. Jesus said; "the works that I do in my Father's name."

    Experiential faith: A proper balance

The other day I shared a bit how God appears to have revealed things to me through a dream and subsequent circumstances. I can only think of 2 other dreams that seemed to have showed me something. One was the night before my Grandmother died warning her that she would stand before God; the other about donuts when at a retreat; and when I woke up they found 5 bucks and bought a box of donuts for us. Some admittedly seem to dream more than others things of significance others seem to have insight or visions into the future.

Although I don't subscribe to the total Cessationist mindset I certainly don't want to cause unnecessary division here to those who do in regard to spiritual gifts. My focus here is on what is NECESSARY to experience which is the Holy Spirit convicting us of sin; righteousness and judgment to come (if I have it memorized John 8:6 or something to that effect). We must learn to recognize His voice as His sheep and also other influences whether they be our own vain imaginations or that of demons influencing us. We must comprehend that we are not who we used to be; and that of course is helped by testing ourselves to see if we are in the faith. (again I'll let you guys find that verse man my memory is bad). Without the Spirit scripture simply doesn't come alive to us; and also the Divinity of Christ isn't comprehended (see Christ's comment to Peter on that subject).

Discernment I will say is necessary today; and I would also say that is needed for casting out demons which is also needed today. Nonetheless the GRIEVOUS abuses and fraudulent manipulations of obvious gibberish with the same few words and phrases in tongues; and the handful of physical healings with proper corroborating evidence; etc. along with other hoopla and often demonic Kundalini type movements make many clearly be a stench to God. The fruit of the lives of preachers; the integrity or lack thereof of the Word are 2 big issues.

    Hi Carleton,

Thank you, brother, I know I differ in this fervently held belief from most, and not believing it is offensive to many. I just would like to share just a little of my understanding of where I am on this, I know many will disagree.

We cannot deny the divinity of Christ, He came forth from the Father. Do I believe Jesus was created? NO. Do I believe the Son of God began at Bethlehem, at His birth? NO. If we look at Micah 5:2 at the prophecy of His birth Micah says He will come forth, the Hebrew word yatsa means to go or come out.

"Whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting." The Hebrew word for everlasting is olam means long duration, antiquity, futurity, and days of eternity.

Jesus came forth and was the Son of God before creation as we see He is the beginning of creation all came through Him and for Him, Rev. 3:14 Colossians 1:16. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who came forth from the Father, (came out of) not created. Does Jesus confirm this, John, 7:29 John 8:42 John 16:27 John 17:8?

My understanding is Jesus is the literal Son of God, truly begotten of the Father. Jesus came out from God, His true Son, of the same matter, and divinity as the Father with divine inheritance, John 5:26 John 6:57 Heb. 1:4, not a title as a part of God. God truly gave His true only begotten Son John 3:16.

As the Gospel of Jesus tells us, all who believeth that Jesus is truly the only begotten Son of God. My understanding is if I do not believe Jesus is truly the Son of God I deny Him. That brings in 1 John 2:22 if I say Jesus is God, I deny that there is a Father and a Son.

Just a little and thank you again for your caring reply, you do not have to reply I just wanted to tell just a little.

    God bless,

    Jesse,

God hates sin! We need to learn to "hate sin" as much as God hates it!

Very true..you will not need a Savior when you overcome sin, because you will have have listened to God, applied his commands to your life, and allowed Christ to perform His marvelous work in you, to help you overcome the sins in this life - that you and many Christian's believe is impossible. Nothing is impossible for God! And yes, you will then be ready to enter into the Kingdom and "you will not need a Savior as you say"you will have allowed the Savior to do His miraculous work in you at present!

Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

If we keep sinning because we feel that we can't stop sinning we are not following Jesus/Gods commands, nor embracing His Spirit. We are keeping our worldly sinful lives intact, and not listening to His instructions, to give up this life, and live according to His Commands.

John 8:34 "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin."

John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

If we are truly born again we will learn to hate sin as much as God. Who do you think wants us to think we can never stop sinning? It's not Jesus/God, because He tells us point blank: To stop sinning!

1 John 3:6 "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him."

1 John 3:8 "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."

By saying we will never overcome sin we are saying that the Son of God can't overcome the devil's sin that works in us, and that we will always be a servant to the devil.

We need to read the scripture, and believe, and apply it to our lives now!

    Hi Jema,

Thanks for your response and question.

Jesus asks us to take a hold of his outstretched hand and pick up our crosses and follow Him. Does that take effort on our part? When you get up in the morning to read your bible, does that take effort on your part? Does it take effort on our part to pray, to ask for forgiveness, to repent? Does it take effort to give up our worldly luxuries, material things. I think we can agree the answer to all these questions would be Yes.

We are are supposed to be walking with Jesus/God toward our salvation in heaven. 'It is a relationship". He is NOT giving us a "free ticket" like many christians have been deceived by satan to believe. He wants us to work toward becoming Godly, and in doing so we will getting prepared and ready to live in His Kingdom. If we continue to live sinful worldly lives we are not following Christs examples that he gives to us so vividly throughout the scriptures and we will not receive salvation! Hebrews 10:26

Yes, it takes effort on our part. Jesus tells the adulterous to stop sinning, John 8:11. Jesus tells the invalid that he healed to stop sinning or something worse will happen to him John 5:14

Jesus expects the adulteress, the invalid, and all of us that want to inherit the Kingdom to stop sinning. Does this take an effort on our part? Yes. Jesus knows this takes effort for us. Jesus tells us we need to become humble, obedient, and teachable by following God's Commandments and by striving each day to become "sin free". Jesus promises us that he will give us The Comforter-His Holy Spirit to enable us to actually overcome sin and not only sin - but this entire World! John 14:17

I will close with a couple of great verses.

1 John 5:3 "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

1 John 5:4 "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

    Dear Letha & Husband

As you have already experience, they're many who will gladly give you their opinions, thus leaving you both torn & tormented with them,

Friends; you must go to God Himself to seek your answer, it's the only Way you'll have peace on this issue.

Your openness & honesty in revealing that you & your husband were living in sin before marriage is noted. This is what God is looking for, truthfulness Hebrews 10:22 as you both come before Him.

    Here are some Scriptures.

    Matt 10:19 "except for fornication"

John 4:10-18, here we have Jesus offering eternal life to a woman who had been married 5 times & presently living in sin

Scriptures does not reveal what all Jesus Christ spoke to the Samaritan's those two day He stay with them, but you can be sure it was on the lines of John 8:11 Hebrews 10:26

God's grace teaches us the knowledge of His will & we are to exercises it until we become more than conquerors through Him that loves us & continually gives Himself to us through His Spirit of Grace. This is putting Him on & what we receive from Christ is our inheritance in Him.

The simplest & purest definition of a Christian, is Christlikeness, to be like Jesus.

Its true we all come into this world as sinners, but it not true that we must remain sinners.

Jesus name declare His works, Matt 1:21 "saves them from their sin, not in their sins". Titus 2:14, "cleanse us all iniquity" for how else can we be Col 1:22 "present you holy, unblameable & unreproveable in His sight.

Concerning the reading of the amplified bible this is another man made opinion, throw it out the window along with the rest of the dirty water.

    Witnessing: Family

Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Jesus despite His statement in Matthew 12:48 (He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?) Jesus demonstrated at the cross his concern for his mother's care and had John live there with her in John 19. It was even worded in the same way "behold your mother"and "behold your son" in verses 26 and 27. We see from the verses above as well as others that family is often the most dificult to reach; even in Christ's case James only believed after the cross. ( John 7:5) shows this; along with unbelief of other brothers at the time. If a sinless Christ was viewed in His hometown as merely being the Son of Joseph and Mary at the time despite the virgin birth being a reality; then of course the only other option would have been as the Pharisees said in John 8:41. And of course we can't expect anything more; since we indeed are all sinners saved by grace. Our family will see something different about us from what we once were; especially if there is a dramatic change in behavior due to certain outward manifestations of behavior radically different after salvation. Of course all of our past mistakes and human weaknesses will be scrutinized by those who grew up with us.

We have challenges from Jesus in both loving God more than our own family as well as the mandates to honor our Father and mother. Clearly our Lord understood the right balance and we should learn from His example. Our natural family isn't our spiritual one; it may or may not become that in time. In my own life not only do I have 2 unbelieving parents in their 90's; NO one in my family to the best of my knowledge are saved. Having to live at home at present therefore means my walk and behavior has to be consistent. Preaching is not going to accomplish much; they are aware I have been a believer 40 years+

    Hello

You are right. "flesh and bones cannot be the image of God".

    JESUS said: Luke 20:35-36

35 - They which shall be accounted WORTHY to obtain that world(next world-Kingdom of GOD- Revelation 11:15-18.Take a look.)- , and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of GOD( John 1:14), being the children of the resurrection.

By the way, only and only JESUS was n ot born of the sin, was not of the Devil( John 8:44 & 46. Take a look.)

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of GOD - John 3:3.

DEATH TO SELF: A THOROUGH ANALYSIS

Your will above all else, my purpose remains

The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Phillips Craig and Dean from the song From the Inside Out (Fearless Album)

Proverbs 16:9 shows that man makes plans but the Lord orders his steps. Our best attempts at determining what is right even as Christians can't possibly take into account the bad things that happen and just how the Lord will use those things for our good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes ( Romans 8:28). Time and again the Lord has shown in scripture as well as today that martyrs ultimately serve a greater purpose; it such as Jim Elliot martyred with his friends in the jungle and the efforts of his wife and others afterwards with the resulting fruit of their efforts in converts.

Dying to self may or may not demand a complete change in trajectory as to our vocation or living situation. God makes it clear that those married to unbelievers are not to depart unless forced by the other person. We are also to work heartily unto the Lord ( Col. 3:23-24) and in fact; if we don't work we don't eat ( 2 Thessalonians 3:10). Luke 10:7 shows how the workman is worthy of his hire at least in terms of ministry but Paul supplemented support through tentmaking as to not be a burden to others. Obviously; as with the woman caught in adultery ( John 8:1-11) there had to be an end to sin therefore a radical change in lifestyle and by default cutting off many social ties. Whether we can be a witness or former associates post conversion are a detriment is based on several factors in individual situations. Clearly any criminal sources of income have to be ended; and we should make restitution whenever possible for those we have offended (see Ephesians 4:28; implied in doing good with what is earned).

As to our affections being set on things above ( Colossians 3:3-10) it is an ongoing process. As an onion each layer of self is peeled away.

    Hi

Thank you for your encouragement, I do see the Truth, as I stated it.

You can be assured that Jesus prayers will be answered. What He did for us allows us to fulfill the Great Commission of Gen 1:27

Habakkuk 2:14. this I have received from the Lord, not in studies of man made books, but in waiting in silience upon Him in His Spirit.

& besides, lets take a closer look at present day Christianity, everyone is saying "He's coming soon, even at the door" they have one feller on this site, saying it going to happen just like the movie Left Behind, Ha ! As if God would share the riches of the treasures of His knowledge with Hollywood.

Friend, in all honesty, & simplicity of heart, Where on this planet do you see His Bride, who is Ephesians 5:27 ,let your own conscience answer that question. John 8:9 Rev 18:4

A day in the life of Jesus: General overview

If we look at the time after Jesus was in the wilderness and began His public ministry; we see what begins as a few healings and public teachings in His hometown appear to rapidly grow with travel to surrounding areas where He cast out devils and did many healings. As late as Matthew 16:20 Jesus told to His Disciples not to tell anyone He was the Christ. The same instruction is in the Gospels of Mark as well as Luke. Jesus would speak Parables; eventually as the ONLY method of explaining these hidden truths to the general public. ( Matthew 13:13). This shows how deep the concept of Predestination is shown 2 verses later in Matthew 13:15 when He explains because of hard hearts they will not be given information needed to be saved. We must come to Christ on His terms; and at His drawing or prompting ( John 6:37). This concept also shows that Christ never was seeking acclamation and didn't want to be set up as King on this earth before the time either; without understanding that He had to be the suffering Savior first. When a man asked Jesus to help him with unbelief ( Mark 9:24) we need to keep in mind that when on earth He was able to raise men from the dead; today we need to trust that He has power over death; hell and sin but we don't have any certainty that He will use a person to perform a healing through the power of the Spirit today. Nonetheless we should ask the Lord in prayer all things which we will apart from those things which are just for our own selfish desires; He ever intercedes for us according to God's will ( Heb. 7:25). Finally; Jesus knew that mere facts wouldn't save anyone; as evidenced in the rich man's pleas from Hades in Luke 16:31; and all other instances Jesus was harassed for healing on a Sabbath Day-they couldn't ever deny the miracles but accused Him of working on the Sabbath and blasphemy declaring that He was the "I AM" ( John 8:58).
