Leviticus 11 Plainly tells us what we should eat to keep our bodies healthy. We must aways obey our Creator because he knows what is best for us because he is our creator and redeemer. Please ask God for the strength, will, and desire to obey Him at all times. Our obedience and faithfulness will determine our future.

    Thank You

hi All, God created our bodies and knows what is good and bad for them. Pigs and other scavengers are still unclean because they bring disease to our bodies. The vision Peter had is talking of the Gentiles and has nothing to do with the animals. The things good/bad for our body are still the same. It will not keep you out of heaven by eating these things just bring sickness. God judges the heart of men.

Check I Timothy 4:3-5 We are not under the Levitical law but under grace. Paul gave us the doctrine for the church through inspiration of the Holy Spirit & now we are at liberty to eat pork or whatever. Also check Acts 10: 9-15 Acts gives us the details of the transition from law to grace. When the veil was torn in two we came under a new dispensation.

Ricky, read Acts 10:9 to 11:18. Peter has a vision of all sorts of unclean animals, reptiles and birds, and God says to him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat them." Peter says, "Never, Lord. I have never in all my life eaten anything forbidden by our Jewish laws." Then God says, "If God says something is acceptable, don't say it isn't." The same vision was repeated three times. You see, the Gentiles ate these unclean animals, and because of this, the Jews considered them to be unclean and an inferior people. God was trying to show Peter that these things that were unclean, were now made clean by the blood of Jesus Christ and to the glory of God. God made these animals clean; therefore, the Jews no longer needed to consider the Gentiles unclean and could now eat with them without risking defilement. God accepted the Gentiles (who did not live by Mosaic law) and He baptized them with the same Holy Spirit as the Jews. You see, before Jesus's sacrifice, we had to depend on obeying the Mosaic law to make us clean--and we could never live up to it; but now, it's Jesus who makes us clean, if we abide in Him. Jesus said in Matthew 15:11, "You are not defiled by what you eat; you are defiled by what you say and do." (NLT)

Hi David, Laviticus;11th chapt, 7th verse; states clearly that Swine is unclean, I read the entire chapter, then references. which include;Deuteronomy chapt; 14,V-8,/ Isaiah 65thchapter;4th verse. starting a v-1/ All leads me to a final conclusion, I cannot omit What God has deemed good, and bad, Swine is bad, according to these scriptures.I was told by a good authority, who had a degree,; that this was mosetic law, and didn't apply to today, and the new testiment, I cannot accept that, without scripture to back that up.can you comment? Thanks, Ricky Webb

from a young lad, I was raised on a small farm, we raised hogs pigs; swine. In my study of the bible, I decided to go from beginning to end. Needless to say, I love Sausage, & Gravy,Hot biscuits and apple butter. God clearly states that it is a sin, it is unclean to me to even touch its carcus. I am doing research on this, as I can't believe my Mom & Dad, having knowledge of this; dishonor God, as they were surely Christians. I was raised in the church of God, In the Alleghany Mountains. I have gotton many opinions, all say Pork, and Ham, Sausage,;is ok to eat.but no scripture to support that position. Can anyone help me?. I have gotton scripture, relating to Gods ability to clean anything, But nothing that tells me that swine and pork is ok for me to eat; with Gods expressed approval.

Please let me know where to find the Book, Chapter and verse for this sentence in your commentary: Whilst we enjoy our Christian liberty, and are free from such burdensome observances, we must be careful not to abuse our liberty.
