Since I ran out of space I thought I'd add one more comment.
The #1 criticism often received is someone claims I don't believe in grace or that I believe we're saved by effort. That is a strawman argument and is untrue. The Bible says Christ followers will be saved by grace, not by works. That is not what is being contested.
Just because we will be saved by grace doesn't mean we should stop obeying Christ! It doesn't mean we should stop following Christ! The fruit of faith is works. A Christian is a Christ follower and if someone doesn't follow Christ they by definition are not even a Christian. And if not a Christian, that person should not expect the benefits of salvation. Matthew 7:21. Many will feel very entitled but will be shocked they aren't welcomed. This is the wake up call many need right now. Get right with the Lord today before its too late!
A Christ follower is action. Those who aren't actively following Christ are may not be Christ followers. And just because we're imperfect and fall down from time to time doesn't mean we're not Christians. This is very different from someone turning their backs on Jesus and following the pleasures of the world (satan). But Jesus said He would go after the lost sheep, not lost wolves! Many people assume they're followers because a pastor told them so, but are instead lost wolves expecting all the benefits of salvation for doing nothing. God bless.

Those who understand the Kingdom of God are my mother, my brothers, my sisters, my sons, my daughters. We walk in the Spirit of one God (The God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Jacob), the Father in Heaven and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, our only priest and mediator here on earth; for we are waiting patiently to meet Jesus or Yeshua" in the cloud.
You know who you are. Keep the faith and the grace of God. I watch you here on earth.
1 Cor. 11:30 is physical death; referred to as "falling asleep" (see also Acts 7:60). The book along with all the epistles is addressed to the church; with warnings specifically targeted in that direction. The gravity of proper respect at the Lord's supper is a sobering thought here.
There is a great tendency for categorizing people as "saved" or lost without further distinction as to the state of saved people especially. The concept of rewards or loss thereof ( Rev. 3:11) is found in a number of scriptures. Some; no doubt bring forth different levels of fruit ( Mark 4:20). Some make it in but suffer loss ( 1 Cor. 3:15). There is also a tendency to brush over sins committed after a confession of faith as somehow not having consequences in the lives of a believer. Again; we see a reference to this in Corinthians about anyone who destroys the "Temple of God". ( 1 Cor. 3:16-17). If we dishonor God we can shorten our life through natural causes; and God's discipline can be part of this refining process even to death. See also 1 Cor. 5:5.
We must keep in mind that as God's children; he "chastises every one He loves." ( Heb. 12:6). We cannot be certain of the salvation of Ananias and Sapphira ( Acts 5:1-11) but it fits the same pattern. Whoever has "tasted and seen" ( Heb. 6:4-5) God's goodness but is not truly Born Again has greater judgment. When we see churches today that clearly lack the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom ( Proverbs 1:7 and other passages); there is a tendency to ignore the exhortations and rebuke which need to be given along with encouragement for the edification of the saints ( 2 Timothy 4:2). Just because as Protestants we don't believe in transubstantiation; we do well to heed to the fact that His presence is in communion. Churches need to emphasize salvation along with living without a LIFESTYLE of unrepentant sin is necessary when partaking in communion. Unforgiveness should also be addressed ( Matt. 5:23-24
:8 what I have found to be of great interest is the phrase "law of thy mother" this is understood in the sayings of the Apostle Paul, who taught us in Galatians 4:21-31 that Hagar is the old covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in stone and Sarah is the new covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in the heart. Here the Law of God is referred unto as Sarah for Christians, then the apostle states Jerusalem which is above is our mother as Christians, from these two statements we can interpret what King Solomon had hidden in his dark saying. Since our mother is New Jerusalem in the third heaven, the law from our mother is the Ten Commandments written in the heart, after we have figured this out, now we can try to digest the proverb, do not forsake the law of thy mother.
The LORD revealed to me after your question. There is significance of the writer of Proverbs, his life & witness of. Proverbs 13:24, Proverbs 22:15, Solomon appears to have written Proverbs chapters 10 through 29. Solomon the son of David Proverbs 1:1, if any man truly understand the grief associated with undisciplined children would be a surviving son of David. Please read the tragic stories of David's children. 2Samuel 13, 2Samuel 15,- 2Samuel 18, 2Samuel 19, 1Kings 1:5-, * 1Kings 1:6 - 1Kings 2,
After 2Samuel 12:10-12,
Eli's sons, 1Samuel 2:12-17, 1Samuel 2:22-25, 1Samuel 2:27-36, * 1Samuel 2:29, * 1Samuel 3:13, 1Samuel 4:10-22, Samuel's sons were also tragic stories because of lack of discipline. 1Samuel 8, Historically near Solomon's reign.
The rod of Moses & Aaron, brought deliverance to GOD's children Israel & all who obeyed & took shelter with GOD & His children, & judgement to Egypt & those who chose not to.

Hallo Gigi and all the rest. The most of ppl understand that english is not my birth given speeking. Because there will probably be many grammatical errors. ps. Be nice and stay be patient with me.
When i come over the word of knowledge, i look at it and think beyond :). It's a word who is the opposite of wisdom. Its like more deaper understanding of things in the Spirit and what God want us too understand. Mayby like a preaching. But not like in parable.
Wisdom is something your mind have learned. Its stand a lot of wisdom in Proverbs. Example Proverbs 1:23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Amen
So this is that we learn from not experiencing, but too listening and do what u have heard. If we do so we are clever ppl in one way becouse of all the promises we got in Proverbs example.
Have a good night, here it is late morning. And its soo god too know that its always someone in the Spirit of God who is woken, when some are in sleep. Because of that, we know that the Word of God is being fulfilled. The Spirit never ever sleep.
Stay blessed and strong in His Holy Name Jesus Christ with words from Matthew chapter 25.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 19:23
The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Job 28:28
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Luke 1:50
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
Phillipians 2:12-13
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to Will and to Do of his good pleasure.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them (enemies) : for the Lord thy God, he it is that goes with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Comment: it means to honor and respect; to trust and follow God.
Hi Joe. In Hebrew, 'soul' is in the feminine gender. Many languages, as you may know, apply it's gender to the object & sometimes don't use the neuter gender.
It sounds strange to us since 'soul' is neuter in English. Another example is 'wisdom', as in Proverbs 1:2, where it too is feminine so you might also see it referred to as 'her/she.'
(A Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Wisdom is personified as a woman in Proverbs 1:20-21; 2:2-4; 3:14-18; 4:7-8; 8:1-36 and 9:1-12. Each time wisdom speaks. The first time wisdom speaks is in Proverbs 1:20-21.
Wisdom shouts in the street,
She lifts her voice in the square;
At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings: Proverbs 1:20-21 (NASB)
The Hebrew word for wisdom is hakmot and this noun is a feminine plural. A literal reading would seem to be "Wisdom shouts in the street," except that the second line is in the singular - "she lifts her voice." F. C. Cook writes,
In the Hebrew the noun is a feminine plural . . . as though this Wisdom were the queen of all wisdoms, uniting in herself all their excellences.[1]
That is, since Proverbs 2:6 says that God gives wisdom, the wisdom in Proverbs is the queen of all wisdoms. There is no greater wisdom.
comment: I don't think proverbs 31 means wisdom is a heavenly female creature. My opinion. It is the way Solomon (had 900 wives;300 concubines) described wisdom. Possibly Jewish literature would address this?
Thank you David. May I refer you to a few OT & NT Scriptures: Exodus 33:7; Proverbs 1:20; Ezekiel 41:17. And Matthew 12:46,47; Matthew 26:69; Hebrews 13:13. These show the intended meaning of 'without' as seen & understood in Genesis 9:22.
But if you still believe that Genesis 9:22 is incomplete, I would be very interested, like Adam, to know where you learned this & the relevant references so we can research this as you have done. In anticipation I remain.
Maybe you're referring to the last part of the chapter, especially the last verse Proverbs 1:33.
In my opinion this is talking about following God (Jesus) or not. It makes a distinction between someone who hears wisdom and truth and obeys and fears the Lord and someone who doesn't. I think this is what we're seeing in the world today- a lot of fake news and foolishness that people want to believe. They hate the truth. They hate God and mock Him.
As for backsliding, I personally believe we will be judged for all our actions and be punished/rewarded fairly and justly. But I believe Jesus's grace has a huge allowance for genuine followers who try but slip up. I believe all can be forgiven except blasphemy of the holy spirit.
