  • Kisha on Proverbs 3:5 - 11 years ago
    God can be fully trusted with our lives. If we just rely on ourselves we will miss it. He knows the right choice every time.

    Its exciting to think or to know "by acknowledging him we can't go wrong"
  • Mathew John P on Proverbs 3:1 - 11 years ago
    It is important for man to live closer to God, who will give him peace and happiness and everything that he needs including a long life. One doesn't need to go to a beautician to blacken his hair in order to look younger. Long life is a gift from the Lord.
  • Richie on Proverbs 3 - 11 years ago
    We belong to Jesus, we trust in Him, and He uses us to direct others as well as ourselves to the path of righteousness sometimes our selfish desires get in the way of that perfect will

    I agree that GOD has sent HIS Son for a purpose.Purpose being that we all should believe in HIM,it is stated clearly where it says "that whosoever BELIEVETH IN HIM." should not perish. it is HIS will for us all to believe in HIM and have everlasting life. It clarify's it in verse 36, where again it say's "He that Believeth on the SON shall have everlasting life." But does it mean if I hear about HIM and attend church on Sundays and go to Bible studies and do all the goody two shoe stuff to look holy n all, does that means I am exempt from being perish? Hello, I hope you don't think that just because you look Holy, act Holy and go Church mean that's all it is to be exempt from GODs wrath, cause Baby it's not. Who ever is saying it is lying to you, straight up. This verse say's you NEED to Believe in HIM not, do all the rituals. But to Believe in HIM. "to put your FAITH, your Hopes, Your Life in HIS Hands and TRUST that HE (who you cannot see) will HELP you through everything and anything. Read and Believe also in Proverbs 3:5-7. That is what Believing in JESUS is all about. Give your life to HIM and Let HIM lead you. That Was GOD's purpose for sending HIS only SON.

    This scripture helps an remind me that Jehovah's understanding is greater than ours ,it is he we love with all our hearts and trust in him with all we got.When we human rely on on our on understanding it ends up all wrong,because w humans cannot rule ourselves look at the wars and other things result from our own understanding!

    Proverbs 3:5,6

    God knows that our "will" would always be our biggest hurdle to giving ourselves completely to doing God's Will - let go and enjoy His abundant joy & peace; He Loves Us despite our wicked ways & gave up His most precious Son just to be able to have us in His presence - could any of us do that? Not Likely :(

    This is so true, my mother told me this verse many a times, and if I just stay true to its meaning my life will always be good.

    If you think the Catholic Church is the Anti-Christ, think again. Be careful on how you pull down thrones with your tongue. For every word that you speak you will be judged by it. There are no two ways of interpreting the Bible. If you are of Christ, you know that Bible is spiritually inspired. What is this that I saw that says that the son of man will take fighter and fight. Do you not understand that power was given to the anti-Christ to fight the people of God? The Bible is of no private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20). If one lacks wisdom, ask and it shall be given him/her. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, Proverbs 3:5.

    The choices we make in life have great impact and significant role to play in our lives. Lot was given an opportunity to choose a dwelling place. Genesis 13:9 is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. Lot lifted up his eyes and saw the plain of Jordan well watered. The thought of encountering little or no challenge must have been one of the reasons why he chose that place. At the end he lost all his possessions, his wife and his daughters made him to commit incest with them. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

    @Patrick,
    I am sympathetic to your situation for I have recently lost my position in a hospital that I have been with for several years because of knee replacement and no longer am able to perform my position at the level that is expected.
    1. A door closed by God cannot be opened by man and a door opened by God cannot be closed by man!
    2. Others maybe dependent on us, but we must always trust in the lord and be always dependent on him ( Proverbs 3:5-8; Philippians 4:19);
    3. As for judgment on the world ( John 16:8-11), we must first judge ourselves to check our standing with God ( 1 Corinthians 11:31,32);
    4. God has already judged sinners at the cross;
    5. God will judge the world, nations, and people according to his holy scriptures by his son Jesus Christ ( Romans 2:14-16);
    6. The judgment seat of Christ for born again Christians ( Romans 14:10, 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Corinthians 3:13);
    7. The white throne judgment for persons who have not been born again ( Revelation 20:11-15);
    8. Born again by the holy spirit only without water baptism or any other works related deeds that some religions require.

    Thank God for discipline, for whom the Lord loves he disciplines; every son He receives. And this is so that we will be partakers of His holiness. Be at peace with all men, and follow holiness, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see the Lord.
  • Williams on Proverbs 3 - 12 years ago
    God’s style is principally instructional, corrective and advisory. A look at the book of proverbs reveals that He through Solomom, always refers to His children from the angle and perception of fatherly love. That somehow breaths intimacy into such relationship. And because God is our Heavenly Father, His blessings, demands, corrections, admonitions , warnings and encouragement have on them, inherent supernatural protection. Honestly, what He has for each one of us differs yet, in line with His wisdom. There are admonitions to give, concentrated attention to His sayings- there are also divine warnings against immorality no matter how it is packaged. The truth of the matter is that, the substances, within a believer in the LORD are meant to bless and serve the living God, in whatever assignment or task He has for them that love Him. Hence, when that is not the case, such substances and vitreous can’t get involved in it. Immorality is not only a deceiver but also an afflicter - in fact it is a distracter and hence, it is wise to avoid and flee from it. Therefore, the great importance of such fatherly warnings and instructions are contained in the book of Proverbs. And, all segments of God’s Holy Writ. The book of proverbs has inherent in it, brilliances and different intimacies of wisdom for whomever dares to trust the LORD. And that is because it is God’s righteousness that blesses, protects, encourages, cleanses and prospers a nation. When attention is given to the truths of God’s Word, and His dictates are practiced and honoured, God cannot but greatly and remarkably pour His blessings upon its recipients. He is the LORD, and His name is holy. His faithfulness ensures throughout all generations. May the name of the LORD God be glorified and magnified forever and ever. Hallelujah!

    @Donna,
    It is commonly a well known fact that unbelievers are much less tolerable and much more opinionated against believers than vise versa. II Corinthians 12:10 the holy spirit (via Paul) states that when I am weak then I am strong. Weak=humble, when we are trusting in our own human strength (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually) then God has difficulty strengthening us in his might (spiritually, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, etc), Proverbs 3:1-13; 5:9, Philippians 4:13.

    @Terry,
    In case we are wronged, the Bible in the same book of Proverbs recommends that one should defend his/her cause, while keeping lawful.
    You may read that in Proverbs 25:9 where it says ‘’Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another:’’
    God bless you.
