Hi Charles. Isaiah 14:12-14, How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be ""LIKE"" the most High.

( Lucifer wanted to be ""LIKE"" GOD. I think he wanted the glory and the worship.) " This may carry a different meaning than want to be God" This brings it home.

Ezekiel 28:12-15, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

    Isaiah 14:9-17 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? 11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

The tribulation and the wrath of God are two completely different events, the tribulation is what the world does to us, the wrath is what God does to the world after were gone, Rev. 6 trib. & rev. 8 begins the wrath!

I was referring to the general "Christian" population, not anyone particular on this web site!
  • SkipVought - In Reply on Psalms 46 - 5 years ago
    Rick,

Eschatology has certainly divided many Christians. It shouldn't, but some hell fire, and brimstone preachers have elevated these secondary doctrines, issues of separation that I believe have harmed the Body of Christ. I'd like to proceed...

"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity."

I happen to look at The Scriptures using a historical grammatical method of interpretation, agreeing that there are various genres of literature, historic, prophetic, poetic, apocalyptic and there are figures of speech that should not be taken literally but certainly refer to something literal.

One of the main things that come out of this kind of an approach to Scripture is that the church, that is The Body if Christ, and Israel are meant to be two separate entities. For instance, God gave Abraham a promise that included a land: the land if Canaan, The Promised Land. Israel eventually got part of that promise. I continue.

But they disobeyed and were taken out of the land in 606 BC for 70 years. Daniel, in Babylonian exile, was praying about that 70 years, when he got a message via Gabriel in Dan 9:20. Talks about 70 Sevens. After 69 Sevens Messiah is cut off. Leaves one Seven remaining.

One more Seven, a seven year period, is left for Israel. Israel was set aside after the 69 Sevens when they rejected their Messiah. It is now the time if the Gentiles.

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." Rom 11:25

This last Seven, is directed at Israel, when God will soften their hears and open their eyes. It will be a time of God's Righteous Wrath and the church will be removed and delivered from the wrath to come. [ 1 Thessalonians 5].

Matthew 24 is Jesus' message to Israel, not the church.

That's true, if you are unsaved, you will have to endure unto the End of the Great Tribulation, to be delivered. see Joel 2:32
  • Richard - In Reply on Psalms 46 - 5 years ago
Indoctrination is a strong bond, it always amazes me how many Christians wont even listen to you when you show them scripture after scripture proving a post trib. rapture, you would think the central focus of being a searching Christian would be to learn what God says, not what some man or woman told you! If I only had one piece of advice I could impart to a new Christian it would be "dont believe what any man, woman, preacher etc tells you unless you can clearly verify it in the King James Bible!

Well said Bob Grove in your pre-trib rapture comment. The pre-tribulation rapture theory was introduced in the 1830's by John Nelson Darby who was considered be the father of Dispensationalism and Futurism. The pre-tribulation rapture theory is not scriptural no matter how a person attempts to "sell" this theory. Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved". But don't stop there, because one needs to read verses 10 thru 16 and beyond in order to read it in context. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Thank you so much for these wonderful comments and yes fear can literally destroy all of those things. And it has destroyed many areas of my life. But God shall use all of the bad and turn it for the goodness of his will to be made manifest in our lives. God is such an overcomer he is such a victor and a winner. That means that negative voices in the mind though it sounds like the internal voice in your mind what the reality is that it is not at all that voice. Your voice that speaks negatively to you in your mind is not your voice! It is the demonic! They are deaf dumb blind and mute, however, your earthen vessel the body is carrying the demonic if we allow it in. As if you resist the devil he will flee from you and you can still do that. Yet when you now can separate yourself which is a spirit of power love and of sound mind made in the image and in the likeness of God and you begin to see the truth made manifest within your existence that your spirit is just as powerful as the God who created the universe because it is him. He did breath life into us and when he did that he gave our lifeless physical body the ability to make the heart beat, the blood flow through the veins, the brain to think the eyes to see the ears to hear the vocals to create sound. His spirit is what I AM. It is what YOU ARE all of us are the "I AM THAT I AM" that the God of the bible is. that is really profound and yet it is simple to grasp because God is so good

This crowded world is not what it seems. In these days the world is spending so fast l lose track what day it has become.

People around with sickness and problems surround me. I help all l can. Overwhelmed l go alone and ask God for help. I walk with Him to keep me going. Mankind no. Too much Me. Myself. I.

Where is God's Love toward others. It comes from the heart. Where is the Light of the Heavens. It Shines with compassion, not self. I block the evilness out. So alone l stand walking in the Strength of my Heavenly God.

Was it so long ago l had a after death. I know the Love of Jesus and His Father. Praise God Always!!!

Your eyes are clearly on the Lord & your heart breaking for those in grief & perishing around you. May it be a challenge to each of us to be mindful of others & to intercede for them, as you are doing, that their days on Earth might be made better & their eternity, certain.

Sometimes you wake up to see you need god closer then ever before. the ones around you are hurting in the days we are in. the evilness of this world is running faster than ever before. i am crying out to you lord for help in helping each one to my fullest of the wisdom you have given me in trials l was in most of my life. you tend to stand alone in this world. but let god shine through you in his world. even when sometimes it gets so hard, you have to pray more then ever for his strength of helping those suffering around you. day to day l wonder when one will lose his battle. when god will say you are to come home to me....i am your beginning and now l am your end. i am your true father in heaven. my son jesus l let suffer on the cross with his blood to make a way to see me again-- after living in this sinful world. now come!!! and to those that help you in this wicked world ..i give you the brightest of my light for your strength to keep going until i take you home!!! now fight in my strength and love, and bring it to

the others l lead you to. pray always in my word...... stay strong in the blood of jesus always with your faith, and i will move the mountains that stand in your way!!!!

    John chapter 6

    Read Mathew 24

    Luke 21

    2 Thessalonians 2v3

Beware of many false teachings on this . There is no secret rapture , it says he comes in the clouds and every eye will see him
  • Bob Grove - In Reply on Psalms 46 - 5 years ago
This happens on the last day , when Jesus returns in the clouds as he departed . Read John chapter 6 carefully . Read Rev 20 carefully .

Not a pretrib rapture before this great event .

Jesus is returning only once again . Not 2 more times with a secret rapture . It does not exist, but rather a fable to put it mildly.

Read 2 Thessalonians 2 v 3 carefully . There are many more but these should give you good guidance .

According to bible when does the rapture or the end days are suspected to happen?
  • WHY the word Rapture is not in the Bible on Psalms 46 - 5 years ago
In The Bible, the phrase to search is CAUGHT UP. It is commonly asserted that the word rapture doesn't appear in the Bible, and this absence is held forth as evidence that the teaching of the rapture is a falsehood. But this claim is UNTRUE. The word rapture does appear in the Bible. It appears in the exact same way that words like angel and apostle appear in the Bible. he word rapture is simply the anglicized form of the Greek word (harpaz) that appears in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 in the original text.

To begin with, the English word rapture is derived from the Latin participle raptus from the verb rapio. And Latin rapio and Greek (harpaz) are cognates - they are the same word. Don't be fooled by the superficial differences between Latin rapio and Greek harpaz. The - (-az) on the end of (harpaz) is not part of the shared stem but a common Koine Greek verb ending. The shared stem is simply "rap" - rap in Latin and - (r-p) in Greek.

The fact is, harpaz and rapio belong to a class of Greek and Latin cognates where Greek adds an "h" to the shared stem. Another example from this class is Greek (histmi) and Latin sto. Here again, neither the "h" at the beginning nor the - (-mi) verb ending are part of the shared stem. The stem is st in Greek and sto in Latin. And it is sta in English, from whence we get words like stand and standard.

So we see that English rapture, Latin rapio, and Greek harpaz are cognates - they are the same word in different languages. But not only are they the same word, they have the same meaning. Anyone who has done a little reading from extra-biblical Greek and Latin, or has at least enough familiarity with those languages to use the classical Greek and Latin lexicons is well aware of the fact that Greek (harpaz) and Latin rapio regularly bore the same sense of "remove from harm's way" that pretribulationists claim for the English word rapture.

Due to our age, my wife and I skipped a church meeting today taking place in a farm machine shop/ barn as the smoke is heavy in the valley here. Two of our teenagers got to go. Here at home we listened to a wedding taking place at a congregation in the Southern US. A wedding of different races, different cultures in the time of Covid and other hardships (none of the brides family could attend). The wedding completed another Christian home here in the United Stated and much more important in the Body of Christ. These young people gave their hearts and lives to the Lord separately several years back and the Lord led them to each other. Nothing is too great for God to accomplish in those who trust him. Our issues in life are His issues if we trust Him. The word "issues" is more KJV than other translations and my wife and I had a short discussion on the matter. Other translations seem to get to the point more quickly, such as trust. But Lord brought what seemed to be a challenging wedding to completion in due time, it took patience but the quality of the time will be part of this young couples marriage The KJV of the Bible seems to add quality in a way that is hard to put a finger on. It requires more patience in proving the will or issues being brought forward for it's reader's edification and sanctification. Finally it is one of several translations that can lead a man to salvation, but it is for me an much appreciated translation.

Can you reword your question? Thanks

Psalms 62:7-8 - In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Deuteronomy 4:7 - For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

Psalms 9:9 - The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

2 Samuel 22:17-20 - He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

    Psalms 91:1-9 - He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Hebrews 6:18 - That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
