    D. Goma - Some of David's writings seem strange, but - I know he also says in these same Ps. that God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. How I personally would interpret this is - people who have KNOWN God , and known his 'salvation' and tasted of the good word of God, and THEN turned back to sin, God does hate that; anyone would. There 'may' be no 2nd chance.

'Thou hatest all workers of iniquities': v.5b. I had always believed that God loves the sinner but hates the sin the sinner does. Is my belief wrong in the light of this Scripture?

Irene you misunderstand my post. I sought to share with you more about his name. The name spelling and pronunciation "Jehovah" was fabricated by the Masoretes, with good intentions, as your post also.

Mild Bill; God bless you for caring, but about what I don't see because - your answer has nothing to do with what I said. I was not putting down any of the Lord's names. Why you think I was I have no idea.

Irene, Look up the tetragrammaton. Early Hebrews revered the name of God and would not pronounce it. Instead they would say Adonai The Lord, or HaShem The Name. While we have a different approach to him than Israel, reverence is still due to his name.

    V. 11 - the last phrase - is preceded by a colon (:). This always indicates the following is - important - "..... let them also that love thy NAME be joyful in thee. In the O.T. the name was Jehovah (YAH). Jehovah is from the Hebrew; in the N.T. Greek it translates into - Jesus. And we LOVE His name when we are baptized in it - Acts 2:38.

  • God loves a humble heart on Psalms 5 - 9 years ago
"God hates sin but loves the sinner", along with "never ever ever judge or rebuke anyone" is a lie that came from Gandhi, not God. It is the favorite verse of those who want to make Christianity compatible with the sinful, rebellious ways of the world. Psalm 5:5 clearly states that God hates workERS of iniquity. God only loves and forgives those who humble themselves and repent.

I ALWAYS ask God to bring me back when I I stray and to lead me in righteousness. Psalms 27 he's the strength of my salvation and in Isaiah 41 he supports me with his right hand. I really love my God and Jesus Christ my Savior.

I admire David because he was very sincere in prayer and he caught the vision of how important it is to pray early in the morning...the Lord asked Job gave you command the morning...when a person prays early in the morning they will see change...start adopting this principle and you will testify...blessings

  • Michael C. on Psalms 5 - 9 years ago
This Psalm is a powerful instruction for the inner life. In verse 3, the word "direct" should more accurately be "set in order, give account" and "my prayer" in italics would not have to be added for completing the sentence. So when we appear before God in our morning prayer and Bible study, we come as "setting in order, and giving account" to Him: the rest of the Psalm is for examining ourselves.

The Lord Jesus knew us before we were born and He knew who would accept him and who would not all will not accept Jesus and No man can come to Jesus unless he draw him and after he does and u hear his voice that mean he has open your spiritual ears that the first step.after that u must repent of your sins and pray for the Holy Ghost and live a life for Jesus .realizing the devil will fight u pt 1
