Now we differ as I believe the man child are the sons of God, Christians who are mature, being led by the Holy Ghost, as in Romans 8:14 I cannot accept the man child to be the Holy Ghost, for the man child is raptured in Rev. 12:5-6 in the middle of the tribulation, yet the bible affirms constantly the Holy Ghost is here on earth working in the 144,000 the two witnesses, and all children of God during the tribulation, and such like. I do not interpret the woman as humanity, like you do, as the woman to me is the church of Jesus Christ as in Rev. 12:17 she has the testimony of Christ and keeps commandments, Israel does not have these things, and the world does not have these things either, only the church can have these things. Remember the woman is clothed with the sun, a metaphor for the gospel, the moon under her feet, meaning to have power over Satan and all fallen angels, which only the church has in the name of Jesus Christ. You are right to call the city New Jerusalem the kingdom of heaven, as this kingdom of God comes after the millennial kingdom of Christ, yet it is the final manifestation of the kingdom of heaven. The woman and the man child; out of three interpretations on the woman being either Mary, Israel or the church, I will use a process of elimination to prove who this woman is. 1. the woman must be in the middle of the tribulation when this event happens, therefore, this could not be Mary. 2. the woman keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ, therefore, this could not be Israel. Secondly the woman has the moon under her feet, meaning power over Satan and devils, Israel has never had that power, meaning this could not be Israel. The right answer is that this is the church, who is clothed with the sun, a metaphorical meaning of the gospel, the New Testament, the gospel of the kingdom and the new covenant. Her twelve stars refer unto the twelve apostles, knowing power was given unto the church in the name of Jesus Christ over all devils, this is the woman.

The man child; found within the church are brethren that have matured to become sons of God, according to the Apostle Paul these are Christians led by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:14 The sons of God, and the man child, are both male in gender and are one in the same, during the middle of the tribulation, the church will go into labor pains and deliver the man child who will be taken away in the rapture, this is the same understanding of the bridegroom coming for his bride at the midnight hour.

Hi Jake, I am not sure that this has been completely fulfilled yet. Israel is re-established as a nation, but there as not been widespread repentance and conversion among the Israelites-both Jews and other tribes. They have not ALL been gathered back from all ends of the earth yet. So, I think that this will be fulfilled near the end times or during the 1000 year reign of Christ.

There are writings outside the Bible, these two are mentioned in the Bible, the book of Enoch, Jude 1:14, the book of Jasher, Joshua 10:11 2 Samuel 1:18 but are they the original books, and there are the writings of Josephus.

Scripture does tell us Satan entered Judas, John 13:27, we see in Matthew 12:26 Jesus said, if Satan cast out Satan, suggests he could possess someone, but Mark writes the same conversation, he writes Jesus is speaking in parables, Mark 3:23.

In Daniel 8 not covering Media and Persia, Alexander the Great, and the four it is Antiochus went plundering to place himself above all including God, Isaiah 14:13 is a good description of his intent. He almost destroyed Jerusalem and the worship of God by Israel and placed the abomination in the temple, but he failed. Host of heaven in Paganism are the sun, moon, stars, and planets that is worshiped, but this is not about angels.

Demons and angels are not the same but if you are looking for scripture it is not in the Bible we have. Fallen angels are not in scripture just a definition that has been given the bad ones. Some angels left their first estate and are locked in chains of darkness (bottomless pit), 2 Peter 2:4 Jude 1:6. They have a king, his name in Hebrew Abaddon, Greek Apollyon Revelation 9:1, the hell you speak of, in my understanding comes from Platonism and not scripture.

Revelation 12 that many places in the past but it is yet in the future, the battle is in heaven, so these angels still have access to heaven. When Satan and these angels are cast down to earth will be permanent because it says no more place is found in heaven, Revelation 12:8-12, my understanding this starts the 3.5 years of tribulation when Satan gives his seat, power, and authority to the beast.

There are evil beings on this earth 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 Ephesians 6:12, but how they got here is not in scripture.

If the 'only one God now is Jesus', what happened to the Father, Whom Jesus sits beside? Jesus not only prayed to His Father whilst He walked on Earth, but now reigns with Him ( Revelation 3:21; Revelation 7:10).

Man believes salvation is his choice and not God's choice, contradicting scriptures. Man TEACHES this.

There is TWO RESURRECTIONS; the resurrection of the saints, both those of the old testament (at Christ resurrection) and those that are born again (that share in Christ resurrection, so they never see death).

You can NEVER understand the prophecies without understanding there are TWO RESURRECTIONS.

Hello Geraldine. Revelation 12:3,4 is the passage generally attributed to Satan drawing out "a third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth". Also see Revelation 12:7-9.

If I may, I have heard other people say what you are saying and they feel there was a gap between Gen. 1:1 and Gen.1:2, if I understand correctly what you are saying, forgive me if I am wrong. If we use Revelation 12 for this event we have to say Satan does not have access to heaven to accuse us day and night. We see in Job 1:6 and Job 2:1 Satan has access to heaven and God, also he is the great accuser he accuses us before God day and night.

In Revelation 12:8 when he is cast down to earth there will be no place found any more in heaven. This will be permanent, they are rejoicing in heaven and we are warned of how bad this will be on earth, Revelation 12:12. In the Greek text, at the end of Revelation 12, Satan is the one standing on the sand when the beast in Revelation 13 rises out of the sea (bottomless pit)

I also believe people were before Adam and Eve, but another understanding. I believe the six days of creation were exactly the way it is written. Six 24 hour days and God said it was good at the end of each day, without any gaps, no evolution, and then the seventh day God rested from his work and blessed the seventh day.

That is a question that has been asked for ages. Some feel that the devil knows your thoughts, while most others don't.

Scripture does not give a definite answer on that subject but scripture does indicate that not only the devil but some angelic beings have access to one's mind _ Acts 5:3 Satan filled the heart of Ananias _ Luke 22:3 Satan entered Judas _ Matthew 1:20 -25 an angel came to Joseph in a dream _ Genesis 31:11 an angel of the Lord spoke to Jacob in a dream. One can argue that to have access to one's mine doesn't mean they can read your thoughts.

And there are these scriptures

Job 1:7-12 Satan before God discusses Job and the amount of access he can have to Just.

Ephesians 6:11-16 discusses to put on the whole armor of God and to *quench* the fiery darts of Satan.

James 4:7 tells us to *resist* the devil and *he will flee*.

1st Peter 5:8 tells us Satan is like a roaring lion *seeking* whom he can *devour.*

Revelation 12:10-12 the devil stands before God day and night accusing man, and woe to the inhabitants of the earth the devil has come down.

Scripture is clear - Jesus knew one's thoughts even while in a flesh body Matthew 9:4. To Jesus the spirit was given to him without measure John 3:34.

I believe Satan and certain angels have the ability to read some of someone's thoughts and Satan, being the accuser is allowed to influence those thoughts. I feel Satan and the angelic beings who have access to any thoughts of the minds/hearts of mankind are given a limited measure, unlike God who has full measure. Example what I'm going to eat for breakfast or what type of clothes I'm going to wear any given day isn't something they would need access to or even care about. But the part of the mind our decisions are made against good or for what we know is right, Satan knows our thoughts.

Neither Jude 1:6 nor 2 Peter 2:4 tell us how many angels followed Satan in his rebellion, Prasanth. Some Bible students might use Revelation 12:3,4 referring to Satan taking with him one third of the angelic host with him, but the narrative is too vague in my opinion & Revelation itself is not always in sequential order.

So, I cannot vouch with any certainty about the number of angels but my sense is that it would have been a great company of them, not just a dozen or so. And then of course, if the fallen angels were kept in everlasting chains awaiting Judgement Day, does the demonic activity of old & present days, represent the spirits of those angels? It's hard to have certainty & form conclusions.

Hello Prasanth. The question you ask is a valid one & because the Scriptures are not entirely clear on all the events pertaining to Satan's origin & despatch, we can only formulate an opinion based on what the Scriptures do reveal. Therefore, we can get many opinions on this, even yours could be valid. So, as you've asked the question, let me give you my understanding using a timeline.

a. When God created all things in Heaven (He Himself being un-created), all heavenly beings, etc. were created in eternity past. This was before the creation of the worlds, of man & of other things for the Earth. In Heaven, God created beings such as cherubs, seraphs, beasts, etc., which all had a particular function before God & which constantly worshipped Him ( Ezekiel 10:1-22; Isaiah 6:1-8).

b. One cherub, which was "perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee" ( Ezekiel 28:15), is reference to the one the Bible calls, Lucifer ( Isaiah 14:12). Although, the Ezekiel reference is directly to the King of Tyrus, the wording suggests that the spirit within the king is being addressed & described. Lucifer desired to sit in God's place ( Isaiah 14:12-14), therefore he was cast out of Heaven onto the Earth.

c. And Lucifer, also called Satan (in Book of Job), was there in readiness to deform God's perfect creation (man & woman) in the Garden of Eden, that they too might become like him, filled with evil & opposing God & all that is righteous & holy ( Genesis 3:1-19).

d. Though Satan was cast to the Earth, he still has access to Heaven, even as he presented himself to God with the other angels ( Job 1:6,7) to accuse Job (even as he does us: Revelation 12:10). Satan is not chained or confined to Hell now - he roams freely to deceive the nations ( Revelation 20:3) & will make his final thrust through the coming Anti-Christ, the personification of Satan, just as King Tyrus was. But he will one day be locked up for good ( Revelation 20:7-10).

Job 1:6 - Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Isaiah 14:12-15 - How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Ezekiel 28:14 - Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezekiel 28:15 - Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

LEGALLY, because Jesus (2nd Adam) WON back the Authority FROM SATAN that First Adam lost in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, was conceived becoming the SON OF MAN. All God, all HUMAN.

Satan and Demons are NOT HUMAN. They borrow bodies: dogs, frogs and witches who lend their bodies.

I think this scripture basically summarizes what is expected of me as a Christ follower:

Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14

13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

And again this is reiterated by Jesus Christ many years after his death in Revelation to apostle John.

Revelation 12: 12-14

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

This is Jesus/God telling us that he will judge us in the manner above!

You will never understand the Word of God without putting ALL the Words of God together. And even then the Holy Spirit has to explain it to you.

Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little:

It takes LOTS OF TIME and STUDY to even begin to understand. Most people just believe what other people tell them.

Revelation is a book that has been SIGNIFIED ( Revelation 1:1) meaning the word (such as heaven) represents something other than its meaning as given in a dictionary.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven ....Now we know heaven represents something other than its definition in a dictionary. It takes other verses to Know what it represents.

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven ...

Matthew 12:28 But if I CAST OUT DEVILS by the SPIRIT OF GOD, then the kingdom of God has COME unto YOU.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon WAS CAST OUT (of heaven)(out of you)....You are the NEW HEAVEN ( Revelation 21:1) where GOD dwells. Colossians 1:27

Revelation 12:10 Now is come SALVATION ....

Luke 10:18 And he said unto him, I saw SATAN as lightning FALL FROM HEAVEN (from within YOU).
