This chapter uses the word circumcision. If God wanted man circumcised,Why didn't He create man circumcised? Why is it used to show us what it is a sign of. Paul, a professor of the law, is moved directly to the heart of the matter! It is unfortunate, that the doctrine described is merely nothing less than a Jewish tradition, mans tradition. In the year 2020, we might think that this tradition is outdated, and perhaps may be! The point is this, Our father Abraham used it as a sign of the hope and promise from God ,not only to Him, but all that would believe after Him. It therefore should be made clear, that these words do not distinguish that a woman is any less than a man in the eyes of God! On the contrary, that the circumcision we now have is of the heart both of man and woman. This circumcision could be considered a cutting away of the pericardium. Extreme example, yes! That was my reaction after open heart surgery. What better way to get the point across.
For all have sinned come short of the glory of god Being justified friendly by his grace Through The redemption That is in Christs Jesus: But for us also, to whom it shall Imputed, If we believe on him that raised up Jesus up Jesus our lord from the dead,"

Scripture tells us, nobody ever sought God. The Lord Jesus said, no one can come to me except the Father, which has sent me,draws. Everyone that hath learned of the Father cometh unto me. He that cometh unto me, (in that way) I will in no wise cast out. Other place, therefore I said unto you, ye cannot come unto me, except the Father draws him. From that many walked no more with Him. For a natural man standing next to Him, this is the normal response. Everyone spiritually dead will react the same way, for
He that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. No works of man, period. Romans 4: 3-4.
This verse summarizes the ideas in the previous verse in general terms. Paul frequently summarized in Romans , and often these summaries refer to the results of the action in view, as here (cf. Romans 4:25; Romans 5:21; Romans 6:23; Romans 7:25).Belief in Jesus Christ in one"s heart results in acceptance by God (i.e, imputed righteousness, justification, and positional sanctification). Testimony to one"s belief in Jesus Christ normally follows and normally is verbal. Paul was describing the normal consequence of belief. Witmer wrote that the confession is to God. [Note: Witmer, p481.] One"s confession that Jesus is Lord would be to God initially (i.e, expressing trust in Christ to the Father), but most interpreters have believed that the confession in view goes beyond God and includes other people as well. This seems to be a reasonable conclusion since the confession is to be made with the mouth. In what sense does this confession result in salvation. Paul obviously did not mean that confession of Jesus Christ secures acceptance with God since he just said belief in the heart does that ( Romans 10:9; cf. ch4). Salvation is a broad term that includes many kinds of deliverance, as we have seen. What aspect of salvation does taking a public stand for Christ secure For one thing it saves the person making the confession from the potential discipline of God. [Note: See Dillow, pp122-24.] It also saves him or her from the loss of reward that those who are unwilling to identify themselves with Him will enjoy (cf. Matthew 10:32-33; 2 Timothy 2:12). Furthermore, it often results in the eternal salvation of other people who hear the confession of faith and then believe themselves.
First, receiving Christ does not mean that your future sins have been forgiven. That is why John says, "...but if we sin we have an advocate with the Father...", you have to repent to be forgiven as 1 John 1:9 assures us.
Those are not just acts, they are transgressions of the 10 commandments. And sin by definition is transgression of the Law 1 John 3:4 and Romans 4:15. It is a verb with a meaning. Without the commandements, the how do you know that you have sinned, because even Paul in his epistle to the Romans 7:7-13 says that it was because of the law that he knew sin. And there are so many verses from him that forbids us to commit that act of sin.
James in his epistle 2:8-14, tells it very well that we should keep all the 10 commandments and quotes two of them. Having being saved by Christ is by faith, but you show this faith by keeping God's law so that people know that you are saved and through your actions they may get to know God.
With this in mind, there are two kinds of laws in the Bible, the 10 commandments and the Mosaic Law. The Mosaic Law is what Christ nailed on the cross and that we have no obligation to follow. But the 10 commandments are perpetual, even Christ Himself says they will never change until heaven and earth come to pass, Matthew 5:18-19.
In the Hebrew nation, before Christ they used to sin knowingly because they knew in the Mosaic law there was a provision that if you sin, you take a lamb or any other animal as prescribed by that law, take it to the priest, confess to it and when it was sacrificed you were forgiven of your sins. But now with Christ, all that was no more, and this applies to us too. That when we sin knowingly we grieve the Holy Spirit because He convicts us of sin, Ephesians 4:30, Matthew 12:30-32.
Though the Jews, through unbelief, unjustly demanded the death of Jesus, and the Romans followed through with the wicked plot, the glorious truth is that God himself determined that Jesus would be slain as the sinless Lamb of God for our sins. ( Acts 2:22-24; Romans 4:24-25; Romans 11).
Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH in believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again!
That's IT!
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Romans 11:6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Romans 4:4
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Galatians 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
I AM sticking with WHAT Paul SAYS!
You SEE Salvation is just BELIEVING in what Jesus Christ DID for US!
Remember Abraham's children by Hagar, Sarah, and Keturah represents "many" nations.
Abraham is considered to be the progenitor of MANY NATIONS mentioned in the Bible, the Israelites, Ishmaelites ( Genesis 25:12-18) Edomites ( Genesis 36:1-43]) Amalekites ( Genesis 36:12-16) Kenizzites ( Genesis 36:9-16) Midianites and Assyrians ( Genesis 25:1-5) and through his nephew Lot he was also related to the Moabites and Ammonites.
Believers IN CHRIST, by believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again, all by grace through faith, WE get the PROMISE by FAITH just like Abraham!
Galatians 3:18
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Abraham is not our father by progeny, but is our father by his example of FAITH!
Romans 4:16
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.
1st Corinthians 6:9 311 know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived neither fornicators nor adulterers nor idolaters or a feminine or abusers of themselves with mankind Northeast nor Covetous nor drunkards nor revilers North storage nurse shall inherit the kingdom of God and such were some of you but you are washed but you are Sanctified but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the spirit of our God. You see bob that the blood of Christ washes away all the sin of the Believers so when God sees the believer he sees perfection it's clear that we were all of those things before we trust in Christ as our savior the only difference is we are washed sanctified and purified in the blood of Christ it's his blood that washes us not our Behavior Romans 4:8 blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against him ! did the dying Thief repent of sin? or did he believe on the Lord? Meaning he changed his mind about Christ and believe that he was truly the Lord and that Jesus could save him and Jesus did indeed save him saying today you will be with me in Paradise he had no time to repent of sin or get baptized he was dying on the cross with Jesus and Jesus required nothing of him but simple belief.

People are sheep, or a goat. Jesus is THE SHEPHERD. He will know who is what.
There also are wolves in sheep's clothing and ravening wolves.
If the sheep are lost, we need to take them over to 1 John verses 5-10; particularly verse 9. Show them how to get all that mud and stickers out of their wool. Baby Christians need to learn to run to Jesus and pray verse 9. Lay it all out and admit everything. They learn to love clean and Light.
A new commandment 1 John 2:8-17
1 John 3:10 in this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness, is NOT of God (a goat); neither he that loveth not his brother.
Once I got to carry a "lamb" in intercessory prayer, for weeks. Someone desperately wanting to die. As soon as that person turned to God for help, I was released. If Jesus let's you carry a lamb you will never be the same person. Sheep, lamb, goat?
From Verse 14 to 47 of Acts Chapter 2, Peter is giving the principles of salvation to the Jews. We know from Verse 14 that Matthias was there. But I believe he is giving his message to the Jews. The original language puts markers in for us so that we know how to break down the message. In Verse 14, it says "Ye men of Judaea." That's a marker. Another marker in Verse 22, "Ye men of Israel." And then Verse 29 says "Men and brethren." So Peter is speaking to Jewish brethren, the ones who were eyewitnesses to Christ's resurrection. Acts 2:36 seems to indicate that he's speaking to the Jews. They were witnesses of Christ's resurrection. We see in Acts 1:11, it says, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
It seems probable that Peter refers here to the whole 120 who were present, and who were ready to attest it in any manner. The matter which was to be proved was that Jesus was seen alive after he had been put to death. The apostles were appointed to bear witness of this. We are told by Paul ( 1Corinthians 15:6) that he was seen by more than five hundred brethren, that is, Christians, at one time. The 120 assembled on this occasion were doubtless part of the number, and were ready to attest this. This was the proof that Peter alleged; and the strength of this proof was, and should have been, perfectly irresistible.
You just read it here in verse 31 and 32, it doesn't say anything about "trying to live right" or "going to church" or "being baptized." It says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. If you're trusting in anything in addition to Jesus to be saved, then you're saying what Jesus did for you is not enough on its own to wash away your sins and save you. We are saved, as it says, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, nothing more and nothing less.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by Grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justified the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
John 3:16, John 3:18, John 3:36, etc.
It's great to live right and God rewards His children abundantly, but Christ alone saves.
Galatians 5:4. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
I am a bit puzzled? If the scriptures state, eternal life, life everlasting, and such statements, at what point can a person who has trusted Christ as Savoir loose that salvation? I find no where in scripture that we can take ourselves out of the hand of Christ, who is in the hand of the Father. If it were possible, then our salvation has to depend on us? Romans 4:2 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 2 Timothy 1:1 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him. It is His righteousness not mine.
I m impressed with a number of things here in Romans 4 , and I m not limiting the chapter by any way there is so much in the chapter worth reading many times ... that goes for all the word of God . 1 there is a blessedness that accompanies salvation , it s not an empty experience . And a person must not doubt but be fully persuaded to enter into this blessing that God gives . Be Humble
Jim: YES! Thank you! I try to tell people that, Like the Book of James 1:22 says, "But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourself. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Acts 3:19 and Matthew 3:8 is talking about true repentance which is turning from sin to God. I don't follow after sin now but being in the flesh I am surely not sinless. My salvation is secure in Christ but my peace and joy come from keeping sin confessed and seeking the Lord for grace to overcome. Sin is no longer imputed to me as a child of God. Romans 4:2-8. God chastens us in mercy when we sin
Reading my Bible makes me realize two things: one, I am flawed and thank goodness for Jesus Christ going to the Cross for my sin. Second, We must always v4:20 not doubt. I have doubted and not received. I will pray for strength and wisdom from God.
Believing like Abraham we have to believe that God has sent Jesus to us to save us . But we have the same blessings that Abraham has and he had faith and believes God for his righteousness and that we should believe in Jesus and his righteousness. We also are blessed through Jesus Christ. The blessings of Abraham are up on us through the circumcision of Jesus. Having faith in Jesus is believing .
Are works plus are God rightness is what made this nation so the. Nation of the United States of America we. Should not allow country god try control this nation of. Are just like Isreal did in old days. First the start right then they would other god to. To have concrol of the nation
KH; The seal of circumcision and the circumcised heart; the sign in the flesh of the covenant; and so we henceforth, the sign in our flesh of the Covenant of Christ, that we live not after the flesh, and are markedly set apart by our manner of life and good works: very nicely put! When the Lord gives us wisdom and understanding everything fits and makes sense, showing truth eternally applicable!
