Verses 35-38 appear as if Jesus is trying to set up an OT prophetic fulfilment. The quotation is from Isaiah 53:12 (numbered with the transgressors) and finds its fulfilment a bit later in Mark 15:28, "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors." The 2 swords arm 2 men, who would have then been the 'transgressors'. It looks as if Peter meant to be one.
