Re sin Some concordances describe 2 types of sin 1 the sin nature we inherit from Adam denoted by hamartia in the Greek of the NT , the basic principle from which we draw when we miss the mark , and 2 the sins we commit Hamartia occurs more than about 20 X more often than the sins we commit If we confess our sin s , He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin s and cleanse us from all unrighteousness .... 1John 1:9 uses hamartia in both cases..what a shock that was to me when I discovered that In other words, we have been set free from the sin nature?....and NOT the sins we commit! Someone, please clarify this for me. Neil in Canada
