  • Brian on 2 Thessalonians 1 - 12 years ago
I am a Christian and a firm believer that the words in the Bible are from God. However, I have a concern regarding 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9.This is one passage in the Bible that is a contradiction to a loving God. My daughter at the age of 28, had a stroke and died. She was a loving person and a wonderful mother. She was not exposed to the Bible during her life, and although she loved nature including animal and insects, I doubt if she gave it a thought as to how they come about; God may not have been in her consciousness. I find it hard to believe that God would punish not just her, but millions of others who have not been exposed to God and/or His Son. And if someone was to reply to this comment with, "Well, she and everyone else should have given some thought as to how we come to be on this planet", I would reply in return with "But you need something to trigger that thought." Who knows, if my daughter's life had not have been cut short and had lived to an old age, she may have accepted Jesus as her Saviour. I cannot imagine God taking a "that's just too bad" attitude. That is not the God I have come to love. Feel free to reply. With love...Brian
