God did save me from perishing. I am a alcoholic, not drinking but I am allergic to it. God saved me out of the depths of alcohol. I tried to commit suicide two times and I woke up in a hospital 2 times, it was divine intervention that saved me both times. After the 2nd attempt I quit cold turkey, without much discomfort. God saved a wretch like me because He so loved the world.
