This resonates in the Book of Isaiah, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." (Is.26:3) How do Isaiah and the Psalmist agree but because truth is revealed to both by God. This is how the Word of God is sound as well as a sign. Hermeneutics is on the basis of "the like begets like."
The valley of Baca may be a literal place near Jerusalem so there may be a literal association for the pilgrims moving to Jerusalem. Be that as it may, this passing through the valley is a kangaroo event for the blessed. As pilgrims and sojourners we are set in context of Zion. "They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God."(v.7) Hermeneutics is to explain the specific in terms of eternity.
