" That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose./And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."(Gen.6.2-3)
This striving is what St Paul explains in Rom.ch.7. Law of the Spirit means peace, whereas the law of sin creates confusion. So God sets the standard 12x10 in terms of the spoken word,- the gospel while 7 refers to the Law, or the Word. He that has the Son has the Father as well. ( 1 Jn 2.23) Thus 12x12 explains the man blessed under the covenant. On the day Seven he is sanctifies meaning that he is set apart in heavenly places in his Son.(Eph.1.3) 144,000 is a body created so we are exhorted to be holy and without blame before him in love. "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it." (Gen.2.3). The true meaning of Sabbath applies to the rest for which the 144,000 on the mount Sion are called and set apart. Whereas we in our vile bodies walk after the Spirit. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit./For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." (Rom.8.1-2)
The measure of 12x10 applies to man who is covered under the Law of the Spirit. Sabbath was instituted under the Law of Moses for the nation of Israels. They mingled with people as Ezra faults them, "For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass."(Ezra.9.1-2)
The striving in Gen.6-3 is explained in Rev.12 There was war in heaven," he (the devil) was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.(Rev.12.7-9). The tags separate the godly from sons of perdition.
