As I was going to say in the last post I have seen believers married to nonbelievers and things going relatively well. Many times people both come to Christ; in short a marriage among anyone is still a Covenant with God and even if they start off as two unbelievers that is the case.
As we delve into our profession; again the gifts and talents in the natural realm as well as the relationships established shouldn't be hastily abandoned UNLESS our position is promotes a sinful lifestyle or clearly compromises our walk with such associations.
The same could be said for where we live; with the added pressure of relatives when it is clear that religious persecution will break out and our immediate family is in danger. Even that can be something God calls us to endure for a season; but will make it clear if and when we are to break free if we aren't called for martyrdom at some point.
Now the main subject at hand of course involves our own conversion or that of others; naturally we need to present the truth so that a John 16:8 moment can trigger repentance and explain we are all enemies of God in our sin and desperately need a Savior.
These basic truths are often smothered at best with God supposedly being with us and not against us; probably the most common "mantra" in Christian music today. That is only true if we are right with Him. God in His discipline is still with us but with such a mamby pamby approach we are shocked when He turns up the heat and chastises us.
At the point of presenting the Gospel it may be a bit soon to do this; nonetheless for Discipleship we must emphasize that the way is narrow to the truth and FEW find it. We should explain that life in this world will get harder; old friendships will become shattered; and we will in some way be persecuted. This is what true blessing and rejoicing is; as Jesus stated in (see Matt. 5:11-16). We do no favor in dumbing down these realities to attract more converts.
