    Ps.69.1 "My soul"

"Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul."

God made man a living soul. Surely God must have had a purpose, is it not? The same power and wisdom with which he created the worlds gives man his context. "He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion./When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth"( Jer. 10. 12-13) Coming back to the Spirit moving upon the face of the waters Jeremiah extends our understanding of the multitude of waters in the heavens, Man's relationship to his Maker is as the waters below respond to the waters above. Soul of man is a sign of this bond.

Waters above signifies his Mercy. As with waters below signify generation of man waters above by the same token reveal His discretion. God framed the worlds by his Word so Law of the Spirit is from everlasting to everlasting. The earth abides for ever for the same reason the Word was with God. Christ as the Mediator is the heir of these worlds. "his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds./... sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:"(Heb.1.2-3) By Jesus Christ came grace and truth so soul of man was enriched by the truth already set in his inward parts. Soul of man under the everlasting Covenant had an example. Faith with works was doable. Here Eph.1.3-4 becomes his certainty. We only have to holy and without before God in love. Our soul in short is the abiding presence of God. "And he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth" Jeremiah quote explains the work of God, "who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." How well do we know Jesus Christ who of God has become righteousness.? Faith, of course. (Jn.5.28-29) "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us righteousness.
