    Concluding thoughts on Matthew 14

I ran out of space on the last posting; I wanted to mention besides interchanges when crowds were present along with the Disciples we also have the private moments such as on the ship; in that case selecting only Peter for walking on the water.

We see selectiveness as well in Matthew 17 and two other Gospel accounts as well.

These verses remind us of Christ being the anchor of our soul ( Heb. 6:19) and captain of our salvation ( Heb. 2:10). His presence with us in the sealing of the Spirit ( Eph. 4:30) gives us the confidence even without His physical presence which we must remember the Disciples didn't have at that time. It serves well in examining our own hearts which can so easily be lead astray in reminding ourselves through these passages where even the Apostles before Pentecost truly appeared as children or babes in Christ.
