    Eph.4.30 "Do not grieve" (2 of 2)

We have a passage from Luke gospel,"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us./ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us."

Moses earlier corrected the narrow parochial outlook of Joshua (Num.11.28-29) and Jesus does it now.

"And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off:"(Gen.8.11) Significant is the mention of the evening. The dove is an emblem for the Holy Spirit and it synchronises with the evening when the Covenant took of. What is the significance of this line, 'And the evening and the morning were the first day." (Gen.1.5) Evening and morning were determined and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit rounds off divine Will. The church symbolised by 'the leaf pluckt off' from the tree of righteousness shall lead to the morning "And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more."(8,12). Unlike the raven the dove stayed yet 'other' seven days meaning the return of the day shall be according to the fulfilment of the Law. 'The other' here is in the same sense as 'other seventy disciples' whom Jesus sent.

"There isa river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holyplaceof the tabernacles of the most High." Raven and dove alike."(Ps.46.4)

The church was ever in the mind of God and the firmament serves as a sign. "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." Heaven is quite distinct from heavens and the earth. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.
