    Matt.8.13 "Cast away"

"But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

On the preceding verse we have the great supper of God where Abraham and other heirs of promise are guests. "hat many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven."They come from east and west, which itself tells its significance of the coming of the Son of man. It resonates with the river from Eden flowing, so the coming of Son has been determined before the beginning. That is the inalterable will of the Father. On the other hand Satan has his rounds," From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."( Job 1.7) The children of the kingdom referred here are not any specific nation but those who cannot come to the measure of faith that the centurion a Gentile demonstrated in vv.5-10. Jesus marvelled that he did not find such faith in Israel."Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." It applies to whosoever Gentile or Jew whose faith is merely lip service. The centurion believed already in his heart that "but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." Those who were cast out are a mixed people. They are similar to the Gibeonites who managed to be allied by trickery. "And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the Lord, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose."(Josh.9.27) 'Unto this day' is a tag set by the Holy Spirit that it comes under the authority of Jesus Christ who is the judge. The left out church and Israel are intended. They are cast into outer darkness. There will be weeping. This is foretold,"And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord God."( Amos 8.3).
