God named both so the fulness of God in Jesus Christ established the day is for fulfilling the will which applies to every believer. " I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." ( Jn 9.4) The command number Four designates the word of Jesus Christ as part of the Covenant is in force. Jesus himself prepared for 40 days,('And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights,'). The Covenant came in force at even so we have 'And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."(Gen.1.16-19) When God judged Sodom he sent two witnesses (to the Covenant), "And there came two angels to Sodom at even." Significance of this we shall come anon. "And he stayed yet other seven days."(Gen.8.11-12) Seven tells us that the will of the Father intends Jesus Christ as the Man component of the Covenant. At the holy mount,"and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."(Mt.17.5) God's judgment on Sodom came "The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar./Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah."
