"Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable./These all died in faith." (Heb.11.12-13)
Faith brings both gospel of God and of Jesus Christ bear upon the man who enters into the Covenant. So 12x12 makes his volume derived from both heavenly and earthly blessings. This can be explained from two instances in the book of the Revelation. " And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."(Rev.14.1) Second group are the martyrs."And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."(15.3) The number 144,000 (Ch.7.4) refers to them. Also note the sea of glass on which the throne stood. 'And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal.' (Rev.4.6). Clear as glass or crystal is found associated with the holy city of God which is " And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel"(Rev.21.15-17).
