"All these were the children of Keturah./ And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac./But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country."
The spirit makes a distinction here, and Keturah's children are not in the same league as that of 'thy seed'. As with David in his old age, Abraham would have needs which come strictly under the flesh. Flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. Neither would Patriarch Abraham as his end drew nearer.
Notice the east country to which Abraham consigned thee sons of the concubines? Ever since the fall man has been moving farther away from Eden and the garden itself is set in the east, Eden and the mountain of God.
