Well; we work most other workdays but are given this I suppose as an appreciation for our labors. Let us look forward to the wedding supper of the Lamb when we all get to enjoy the rewards and rejoice that our labors are over.
Laboring for the Gospel may not be something I'm gifted in but Lord willing I will seek open opportunities everyday at least to hand out tracts and hopefully have further conversations about the Gospel.
Again I will ask for prayers for a gentleman who is starting a biblically based study for 15 weeks related to all sorts of substance abuse issues. Apparently he was struggling with starting the group and just missed having a tree fall on his car which may have been deadly. It seems the enemy did what he could to prevent this from happening; and I am going to try to be a support mechanism for him (first study next Monday at 7 PM).
We all are; of course subject to all sorts of addictive and obsessive behaviors. I guess that could even be the case here; if I obsess too much on comments rather than living out my faith in church activities; evangelism and otherwise (not to mention work which I start back this Tuesday). It amazes me how much I still have to learn and I pray that my mind can be focused on the task at hand at work and not to be too discouraged.
The Lord has worked in small ways; such as having our Pastor provide a van to transport my friend's art work to a sort of parking lot sale we are having Sept 20. There are some things that need to be cleared out of the church; and prayer that some Gospel tracts and other information can reach people would be appreciated. We also start our coffee house and Awana in the next couple weeks.
Early Monday afternoon (Labor Day) I plan to visit my Dad again and would appreciate prayer as I may need to help him get his nails cut; and as always want to share the Lord with him. I'm STILL having issues getting his claim approved to pay for some of his treatment.
