I am posting this subject aware of the firestorm of comments that is no doubt going to be sprung forth; hopefully my caution in how I present this topic will bring some who wish to post to at least ponder the details here before a surface level rebuttal.
Let me start by stating what this posting is NOT. This is not supporting those who made a verbal confession and know in their hearts that they aren't in right standing with the Lord and aren't producing fruit which means they truly have no love for Christ; His authority and Lordship over their lives. It isn't for those who hold out the salvation card as a get out of hell free pass that excuses their behavior; clearly involving lifesyles of sinful behaviors; actions and motives that show their old nature has NOT been crucified.
Now it is clear that Satan is described as the accuser; we can see this in Revelation 12; Zechariah 3:1 with Joshua the High Priest; or with Job 1 and 2 where Satan is allowed to affect Job so that he may accuse him of falling away once things happen to him. The act of accusation indicates the Lord is present in a large part; so that it appears in the Bible it is only God's people or at least primarily them who are affected by this. The complaint goes to the Lord who allows for blessings for man which of course the enemy hates as it thwarts his millenniums long plan to usurp God's throne and take worship over for the whole world to himself.
Let me word it this way; proper understanding of what salvation means only begins at the time of confession and repentance. For a true saint of God; of course as time goes on elements of their sinful nature become gradually exposed like an onion being peeled as they are changed from the inside out. The final salvation comes with that of the body at the Resurrection or the Rapture; but the soul is perfected upon death and judgment as Hebrews 9:27 makes abundantly clear.
