A foreshadow is the shadow that comes before the substance but which gives an outline of that which is to come .
As. With other matters there are also foreshadows of the Bride of Christ so that we might get some idea of the characteristics nature and disposition of the bride so that we might recognise her. Nor be mistaken and deceive ourselves .
There are two which I would like to bring to the fore here.
The first is Joseph who's life so mirrored the Lords in so many ways it is a wonder to behold . Having been rejected by his brethren and sold fir 30 pieces of silver we find him a slave first in an Egyptian household then falsely accused and sent to prison where he again prospered ( fir God was with him) and finally became as it were Prime Mnister of Egypt second only to Pharaoh and the thing to note was he got married.before he revealed himself to his brethren the second time .
Moses was also rejected by his brethren though he had thought they would understand that God wouid hecwouid deliver them by his hand . He too got married before he revealed himself and Gods mission the second time .
It is worth noting that while he was correct in his understanding that God by him wouod deliver the children of Isreal he went about it all Wong . For it is not by power or by the might of Egypt or the world that will bring deliverance but " by My Spirit says the Lord " Something we the church still need to learn . No government of this world either has the power the will or the capability to bring about real change for the good.
Moses who was nice somebody ,God made a nobody s that he might become a somebody in Gods eyes .
But seeing that both were already married before their salvation so likewise the Bride will already have been caught up and gone to the marriage fest of the Lord . For the Lord is first coming FOR His bride then later will come WITH His bride .
