" For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always./For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial."(Mt.26.11-13)
This memorial is as valid as this body holds a memorial in heaven so the 24 elders and four beast signify," And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."(Rev.5.10). In his prayer he makes it clear that glory was his, "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do./And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." But it made the extent of the body reach its fullest expression by his death and resurrection. We have another embalmementin Jn.19.39-40) It was ' as the manner of the Jews is to bury.'
