Further insights in the concept of a "moral inventory"

Utilizing a term that is used in a recovery group is meant to bring attention to the concept whatever we call it of accountability; in the case of money as an example foolish decisions affect myself as well as others in regard to money. All throughout my dating with my ex wife she would ask to borrow money; and I have seen this repeated pattern with many up to the present with a friend I am trying to help (and actually just gave a fairly substantial one time gift to yesterday). My point here is that not being wise with my own account also means the enemy can find others to siphon out more than God intends; especially if we are foolish and tell everyone how much we have. In the case of moneys I have begun to inherit even though those who saved it weren't believers I am responsible to show respect for their hard work in accruing it; and need to make amends personally for the aforementioned waste of nearly 50K my grandmother gave my ex wife and myself shortly after we were married and she passed in the late 1980's. On the flipside; I believe making the sacrifice of paying for my parent's burial site (which was already started with a plot me and my ex had paid for ourselves in Pittsburgh); along with much of my own saving up to the beginning of this year for my mom's food bill; medicine; etc since I moved back here in 2021 was blessed by God for my faithfulness. She also helped me finally be disciplined with organizing a balance sheet; bills etc. so that I would quickly be ready to administer to an Estate account and be more ready to undertake responsibility thereof for my Dad's care outside the home.

In general recognizing my own tendency to do things without restraints and abandon myself to projects shows how powerful desires of the flesh can be and how they skew logical processes. That; in turn affects other behavioral traits such as anger and even love that can obsess on the old nature.
