Once upon a time; many moons ago our nation had at least the appearance of one that stood for principles; fought with many sacrifices for freedom; and struggled to labor during the Industrial Revolution to forge out an existence which allowed for eventual success for some; and a work ethic for everyone to follow.
Before we openly dismiss those who would question our glorious past; of course we need to have a matter of fact review of how the Colonists basically took over the indigenous peoples; enslaved masses brought over from the African continent; and committed various atrocities that are still being revealed from the past in regard to lynchings and other nefarious behaviors.
Irregardless; we can certainly say that our nation has certain freedoms that; by and large exceed most of the rest of the world even to this day where there actually has in the past been some adherence to the Constitution of the land regarding freedoms that in other nations such as China merely existed on paper. As mentioned before and as most probably are aware of there were secret societies involved with the monetary system; transportation grid patterns in certain cities (DC in p;articular) and some noteable individuals who embraced more liberal and at time atheist points of view staring in the "Age of Enlightenment" that developed late in the 19th Century.
In reality also the family structure was the main component that allowed for the accumulated wealth of several generations which we have seen before this generation allowing for our lifestyle of such ease compared to much of the rest of the world.
We can give credit where it is due; that there were a decent number of true Christians involved with the foundation of our country that kept moral decay from premature appearances; but of course that is largely gone today. We were as some say represented in the past by the Philadelphia church sending missionaries overseas.
