"and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me."
Cain as a murderer is the wicked one. God breathed into the nostrils of man with the breath of life. In depriving man of his privileges that breath of life, he was denying God and also man. Only darkness awaited as his cover. Since deprived of the Law of the Spirit what God did in his mercy was to set a mark on him. Similar to what the first fruits testified:"and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads". This is repeated,"and his name shall be in their foreheads."(Rev.14.1;22.4). His gifts and calling are irrevocable.
"And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
We shall hazard what the mark would signify. "He is one of your kind." It is what Jesus referred,"f ye were of the world, the world would love his own:"( Jn 15.19) " And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations."( Lk. 16.9)
