Note the theme of the chapter, a Testament does not come into effect until the death of the Testator. That means that all four Gospels are under the Law Old Testament until the death of Christ at the end of each book. This explains the differences in what Christ said here on Earth and what Christ told Paul after his resurrection. The book of Acts is the history of the transition from Law to Grace.

if jesus did not die and shed his blood there would be no blood to wash and make us pure and clean before God we were born sinners for God to see us is through his son jests cleansing blood but we must first recognize that we were born sinners and accept Jesus as Savior by faith amen.

Those that die in the lord will enter a place of paradise as with the thief receiving salvation on the cross.A place of rest free from any form of strife or calamity where they find out that the toils of this life is finished.absent from the body present with the lord.like the thief, this day ye shall be with me in paradise.like paul said,i believe that noting can seperate me from the love or present of god
  • Grace on Hebrews 9 - 9 years ago
The sins of the people were transferred to the lamb whose blood was shed for forgiveness of their sins once a year for there was always a need to shed blood for forgiveness and now a better covenant, a permanent covenant, through Jesus Son of God who took our sins upon Himself as a perfect Lamb, Holy and unspotted, once and for all and shed His blood for our sins, a lasting covenant. Glory to God! Thank You, Jesus!

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

To Anonymous Hebrew chapter 9 verse 22 remark. According to the Law, God had put certain rules to His people, and one of them was to sac ifice an animal for each sin. That is animal blood should have been shed for forgiveness. In fact, as Hebrew 9 verse 7 says that high priest went into the second tabernacle once a year with the blood of the animal to ask forgiveness first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people. Thus there was always animal blood shed for every sin. verse 22 is saying that under the law there was always animal blood shed. But with the New Testament the blood of Jesus was shed for once and for all sins for all mankind who accept Him. One is called a Christian when he or she accepts Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God, who was born as a human being by virgin Mary and He was crucified for our sins , and was raised the third day and He is now on the right side of the Father God,mediating for each each believer. Soon, He will come back as a King.

Isaiah 53. Thru Jesus death he destroy the works of the defeated devil and from his blood we recieved forgiveness of our sins, healing and life in abundance. No more pain as Jesus already came down to save us.. Jesus is the resurrection of life and from his resurrection we have a new beginning in our life. All we have to do is to continue listening his word, and be thankful for all his mighty works that he have done to us and most of all we have to follow Jesus and be like him... Dont be afraid as everything is possible with God

The phrase "new testament " as used in the Bible, seems to mean God 's covenant, or arrangement with humanity, as set apart from the old one, and has numerous indicators to having begun only after the death of the Mediator, who is obviously Jesus, the Messiah. However, when capitalized, it refers to the man made title of the sacred writings added to the Jewish scriptures, which begin about 33 yrs. before God 's new covenant, or testament could be in effect, and includes the developing stage the life and teaching of Jesus before he performed his redeeming work. This discrepancy can be confusing, since Jesus taught a mixture of the old and the new covenants to people who were still under the law of Moses. I feel we should "rightly divide the word of truth " and apply the new testament principles to Christianity. Legalistic religion has caused many wrong divisions in our Lord 's body of believers.

This chapter is teaching the law of Moses not the law of Jesus. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. WHAT? Jesus taught the words of God that have no truth unless you are dead, do you believe that? Love and Peace mean nothing while people are alive, can that be truth? Open your eyes. Jesus does not want his followers to believe in blood sacrifice. Blood sacrifice is demonic. Jesus sat at Jacobs well and said that those that drink of that water shall always thirst. Jacob is Israel. Israel believes in blood sacrifice, the Passover blood. Israel killed Jesus the true word of God and they want him to stay dead. People that want to believe the death of Jesus saved them are doing it for their own selfish motivation. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN THE JEWS THAT HAD JESUS NAILED TO THE CROSS. They want the DEATH of Jesus. They want the death of pure love. To be in the body of Jesus one must be love. Love does not want the death of Jesus. It was mentioned, John 3. 5 it says no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. That water is NOT from the teachings of Moses, Jacobs well. It is the words of God from Jesus, his water not his blood, that will save you.

HEBREWS 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgression that was under the first testament. They that which was called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. The old testament sacrifice could not take away sins, the old testament sacrifices might be compared to the writing of checks that was in the bank. Christ death was deposit from the foundation of the world, with Christ death on the cross, the deposit it was released and all checks was honored and paid.
Romans 3:25 THROUGH FAITH Christ's death satisfy the fathers righteous the man, it's benefits are appropriate only through faith in his finish work. In his blood through Jesus shed blood for our sins, this is how propitiation was accomplished. Just and justifier Jesus is both the Apostal and high priest of Christian faith. Jesus is sent directly from God as a messenger as high priest he is man direct and assessor with God. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the tester. Testament (a will) require the deaths of it's maker before it can be set enforce. Christ life alone in the flesh could not establish the new testament his death in the fleshly form, his shed blood had to drain from the flesh of life existence was necessary. For a testament is a force after men are dead other wise it is of no strength at all why the tester live.

Everyone has an appointment with death, and who we lived determined our live after, to be with God or to be with the devil, after death there is no forgiveness from God.
  • Niyi Amuda on Hebrews 9:27 - 11 years ago
"And as it is appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgment". First point to make here is that YOU WILL DIE ONCE DAY! Everybody is going to die, some sooner than others. When a man dies he doesn't go into extinct as some believe, or purgatory, such occultic believe isn't Biblical.

It is clearly stated that you would die one day. Your death is not going to be like one of those animals, because you have the breath of God ( Gen. 2:7) in you and because Jesus shed His precious blood to wash away your sins ( Rev. 1:5), you will have give to account of every moment of your life to God ( 2 Cor. 5:10). Heaven awaits those who live a holy and spotless Christian life, on the contrary, hell fire awaits sinners, those who refuse to accept Jesus Christ ( Luke 16:19-23). Let's grow to become like Jesus, His coming is eminent!

Hebrew Chapter 9 tells us about the "COMPARISON" between the DIVINE SERVICE OF THE HIGH PRIEST in the "Worldly Tabernacle", and the DIVINE SERVICE OF THE HIGH PRIEST into "Heaven" itself. The FIRST one was the divine service of the high priest MOISES (v.19) in the worldly tabernacle (v.21) which he did once every year (v.7) wherein he offered the blood of calves and of goats (v.19) for himself, and for the errors of the people (v.7). The SECOND one is the divine service by the high priest CHRIST (v.11) into heaven itself (v.24) which he did once in the end of the world (v.26) wherein he offered his own blood having obtained eternal redemption for us (v.12)

it is Appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgement but when? there has to be a Resurrection day before any one is judged the lord will comeback then the graves will be opened as Jesus said Marvel not at this for the hour will come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice and will come forth they that have done good unto the resurrection of life and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.and there is much more.scripture on this subject. there has to be a resurrection before anyone go any where. of course death seals his destenation as death finds you so shall the judgement.also there will be great tribulations such as was not since men was on the earth before the Lord,s come.then emidelity after the tribulation the lord will come so you better be ready when you die because there no getting ready after death.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Hebrews 9:27 - 11 years ago
It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment. There will be the Judgment Seat of Christ where all those who accepted Jesus as Lord, and Savior will stand. This takes place in Heaven during the time after the first resurrection of all believers. The second judgment will be after the second resurrection, after the 1000 year rule of Christ on Earth, then the Devil will be loosed from the abyss to deceive the nations. Fire comes down from Heaven, and the Devil is thrown into the Lake of Fire, where the Antichrist, and False prophet are. The Books will be opened at the White Throne Judgment, and all those whose names are not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life, will be cast into the Lake of Fire prepared for the Devil, and his fallen angels. Only unbelievers will be present at this judgment. This is known as the second death. So if you accept Christ now as your Savior, you will only die once. Those that reject Jesus blood atonement on the cross will be lost, and suffer eternal death the second time. Now is the day of salvation, and when you hear His voice harken, so that your name will be recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life.

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR...IS WHEN THE JUDGEMENT SHALL TAKE PLACE????.......JUDGEMENTS AT CEMETERIES...ARE PEOPLES' OPINIONS.....GOD ALONE THRU OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE JUDGE
  • John Chen on Hebrews 9:27 - 11 years ago
When is the Judgment? Immediately after death or after the second coming of Jesus Christ? If so, when a person died, the person (including a real Christian) is not going to be with God as we hear in the cemetery before Judgment.
  • Joseph Friday Omachi on Hebrews 9:27 - 11 years ago
This means that no matter how you may live your life, know it that one day you will surely die and if that comes all your past deeds will be use to judge you either for condemnation or for eternal Glory with our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
  • Billy 'the truth' Steel on Hebrews 9:1 - 12 years ago
Here is revealed the sanctuary of the new covenant. The sanctuary of the first covenant was PITCHED BY MAN, built by Moses; this one is pitched by the LORD, not by man. In that sanctuary the earthly priests performed their service; in this, CHRIST, our GREAT HIGH PRIEST, ministers at GOD's right hand. One sanctuary was on the earth, the other is IN HEAVEN. Further, the tabernacle built by Moses was made after a pattern. The Lord directed him: “According to all that I show thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it”. And again the charge was given, “Look that thou make them after their pattern, which was showed thee in the mount”, Exodus 25:9, 40. And Paul says that the first tabernacle “was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices”; that its holy places were “patterns of things in the heavens”; that the priests who offered gifts according to the law served “unto the example and shadow of heavenly things”, and that “Christ is NOT entered in the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heavenly itself, now to APPEAR IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD FOR US”, Hebrews 9:9, 23; 8:5; 9:24.

    @Helen,
In Colossians 1:14, the word used of Apostle Paul is WE, and not the word ALL. If the word used is ALL, I salute you, but the word used is WE. So, I conclude that the words “WE were” refer only to the Jews or Israel nation. Gentile people were not included in this verse through His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Also Paul citizenship is a Jew. While Paul speaking in this verse, there are Jews and Gentiles around him. In 1 John 2:2 the verse did not say that there is shedding of blood. So be watchful, this verse did not say that through the blood of Jesus Christ the sins of the whole world be forgiven.
