All scripture is profitable for doctrine and instruction. Doeg is a type of modern servant of the devil who hates God, hates Christians, and hates righteousness and morality. Doeg is a murderer, like Hitler, like Stalin, like other brutal fascist dictators, and like abortionists who murder innocent babies in the womb.

    1 Sam 22

8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

10 And he enquired of the Lord for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.

12 And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.

13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?

15 Did I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.

16 And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house.

17 And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the Lord: because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the Lord.

18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day..

    1 Sam 22:1-2

1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard it, they went down thither to him.

2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.

David is a type of the Lord Jesus in rejection (He came unto His own and His own received Him not.) Those who came to the Lord outside the camp are a type of Christians who came to the Lord as lost sinners out of all sorts of brokenness and trouble (not many wise, not many noble, and not many mighty are called.)

Not yet but I believe they will die during the tribulation, according to Rev. 11

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

    Adam,

What's the difference, you'll believe what you want to believe. I gave you enough facts to reverse your stance, you are free to think and defend whatever your heart desires. Whatever I say you will disagree with; your mind is made up, the nuance of your tone says it all. I don't buy your take on God destroying His creations, void the 3 evil spirits. God is a loving God that isn't like men; His ways are not our ways. Maybe God will do you like that for thinking you can dictate who is worthy of heaven, and who is not. You didn't catch the scriptures that threaten salvation after the fact, which is not possible, like water being dry. That is the point.

Read at face value, the salvation threats from God make absolutely no sense. You don't think God uses His own propaganda to frighten souls using the premise that the wages of sin are death? 1 John 3:15, and others the like, states that no murderers are in heaven because it is impossible for those in heaven to commit murder by virtue of resurrection. It sounds like you don't want to open the prisons, like the gift is all yours, and that of the chosen (we are all chosen), because you say so, because they are your lessors. Discounting the ability of Christ to blanket humanity with the promise of everlasting life is not yours to propagate. I have offered you a grand vision, you've given me more of this world.

Glad you are healing well GIGI and have a helping hubby! My wife and three children loved our Pacific NW trip. Happy to be home again. We were all invited to another Christian home today after Church. Three Christian school teachers, one of the teacher's parents and siblings. Lots of visitation! I am glad you had a good day too.

Praying for the Lord's blessings in your continued healing. Glad for your friends too like Kay.

Hi Steve. Yes, the RC version of the Decalogue involves taking the first three commandments & reducing them to two. Therefore, the fourth commandment becomes the third. And of course, the tenth commandment is split into two, making it the ninth & tenth.

Nowhere in Bible has the Sabbath Day (the seventh day - in the fourth commandment) been changed to the the first day of the week. When Christians choose to worship on the first day of the week, this is not a Sabbath replacement, as the Sabbath was a day of complete rest for Israel, as ordained by God. Sunday for the Christian is a day chosen to meet together for worship (i.e. in most parts of the world; some countries have other days). This might be in line with the early Church meeting on the first day of the week, called the Lord's Day ( Acts 20:7).

    Hi Sherry.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    God bless.

We should pray our elected leaders will advocate for what is right, not for what is wrong. We need to pray republicans will be persuaded by Christian influence to advocate for what is good in God's eyes, not what is good in the eyes of the majority of voters as expressed by biased pollsters and commentators. The modern democrat party is under great influence from those who despise God and promote wickedness in America.

    Malachi 3:6

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

    John 8:47

He that is of God heareth God's words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God.

    Romans 1:28

    And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

God does not change His mind about His Word; Jesus or the Bible.

People/priests however do change Gods word and are subject to what is written at the end of Revelation 22. They do it to themselves and hurt others by saying their decisions are right.

By knowing the Bible we can avoid pitfalls to our faith in God. If your church is political and makes changes politically, you have a responsibility to separate yourself from that church; seek one teaching the WHOLE BIBLE and not omitting or adding to "the Bible".

There is no "wiggle" room on these matters. Jesus said, FOLLOW ME. You bear the responsibility to change your Church Affiliation. Period.

Jesus is returning soon and there isn't another 100 years to flesh out the problems of religious political issues. They just want your financial support. Find a real Bible teaching Church. Not those that mix in philosophy, how to be happy happy in your life without change; marriage counselors, and subjects that are not scripturally based.

Super Churches are not able to give one on one, encouragement to their parishioners.

Bottom line: Follow Jesus. We are HIS DISCIPLES on this earth.

    Dear Lala

In simple words people do sin so God has to punish them. God's punishment to people for doing sins is death both physical and more important spiritual (going to hell). But instead of punishing people God punished Jesus Christ as a representative of all people of all time. So now everybody that accepts that gets the salvation that is given as a gift by God, if he doesn't accept that he has to pay himself for his sins. This is called salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. Many can be said but a brief description of salvation is the above

    God bless you.

  • Giannis - In Reply on Genesis 2 - 4 years ago
    Dear brother

1 John 3:9 doesn't mean what you are implying that a Christian cannot sin. The translation in English is a bit unfortunate here. The Greek text doesn't say "do not commit sin" but says "cannot sinning", present continuous. This means that a born again person cannot stay in sin, cannot live a sinful life NOT that he can't sin. We all sin but have the Blood of Christ to be forgiven. To understand that please read 1 John 1:8-10 and 1 John 2:1-2

  • Giannis - In Reply on Genesis 2 - 4 years ago
    My dear brother.

First i find it very difficult to follow your thinking.

Second if a man sins and doesn't repent the blood of Jesus has no effect on him. It is a necessity to repent first. Not obeying God's commandments is a sin. Of course we are sand and fail many times, but that is why we are given Jesus's Blood to be forgiven and raised up and get on with our christian life. We will fail again and raised up again and so on .This will occur all the way untill death as we carry on life. BUT there is a difference between that and deliberately ignoring the written Word of God, and stay in iniquity because one chooses to follow his heart and not God's rules. Salvation can be lost Please pay attention to Revelation 22:18-19. In simple words God says that if somebody adds or subtracts from what is written in Revelation God will subtract his name from the book of life, and that is also true for the whole Word of God as well. God will not make you accountable if you don't know something but if you know it and delibareately disobey then my brother you have are in a big trouble...

    Hi Sherry,

I believe you are referring to Revelation 1:18 where we find Jesus having the keys of death.

We can look at, then, at Colossians 2:15 -

"15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

Jesus spoiled all the rulers of darkness; satan and his cohorts are defeated foes; all power and glory belongs

to Christ, Who has gotten us the victory! Amen!

    Blessings!

Giannis, let's look at Christ's words and come to a deeper meaning of:

    Matthew 7:21-23

You and I and all mankind were born as sinful flesh, not knowing the truth of God.

Christ came, in the flesh, as sinful flesh.

It, SINFUL FLESH, DIED with Christ on HIS CROSS. You and I and all mankind DIED on the cross with Christ.

Three days latter Christ arose with a NEW BODY, we also shared in Christ resurrection, we now are that LIFE.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy IS HE that hath HIS PART in the first resurrection,...

It is no longer, YOU and I as sinful flesh, but that ONE LIFE of Christ in now, US ALSO.

We are just the body, Christ is THE LIFE, therefore everything we do and say and think is actually THE LIFE of Christ causing it. We are being created in the image of Christ.

Christ is also a body, and the LIFE of the Father is HIS (Christ's) LIFE, HIS (Christ's) WORDS, HIS (Christ's works) WORKS.

Christ said, it's not my words but my Father's words, it's not my works but my Father's works, Of MYSELF I CAN DO NOTHING.

Christ said, I am the vine, you are the branches, without me (MY LIFE) you can do nothing.

Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ..... (the LIFE) CHRIST IN YOU .....

Philippians 2:13 For it is God that worketh IN YOU (you died on the cross and became a new creation, you and Christ as ONE) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Revelation 2:26 And he that overcomrth and keepeth MY WORKS .....

And they will say in that day, Lord did not WE, and he will say depart for it was not you but ME.

Most believe that have life of themselves, but the word says life is only in the SRIRIT.

We are just the body that does the labour of CHRIST, THE LIFE.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God (LIFE and TRUTH) doth not commit sin; for HIS SEED remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Christ's LIFE became your LIFE, and Christ cannot sin.

    Hi Roman,

Your reply didn't really clarify your view or where it originates from, but I noticed you didn't cite any scriptures in your explanation, like Matt 7:13. Maybe you have an ideal or value you hold higher above the Bible that you aspire to and I wonder where it comes from. You called this deeper in the tunnel, but this metaphor to most Christians would mean deeper study of the truth God's Word, not another ideology to satisfy itching ears. 2 Timothy 4:3.

The Bible is black and white that hell exists and there's a threat of most people going there as it says in John 3:16-18. Jesus lovingly died for our sins to pay the debt if we humble ourselves and follow Him, which includes us turning from our evil ways. This is where satan loves to deceive as he will convince some Christians to cherrypick certain scriptures and throw out others, making their own brew that satisfies their desires.

I'm not sure if you believe in satan or not, if he tricks people like it says in 1 Peter 5:8, Matthew 26:41. But when satan convinces people he doesn't exist or that its fine to sin, because everyone is "saved anyway", then that has his signature all over it. Such ideas are bathed in his deceit which usually starts from a little concession, then another one to build on that, on and on, until someone doesn't believe scripture like John 14:15- that maybe they think they don't have to be obedient whatsoever, despite John 3:16-18

Have you prayed and asked God if your "deeper tunnel" is the truth?

  • Roman - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Adam,

Look deeper in the tunnel. There are many layers of meaning to dissect, as above. What you believe in is the literal division of souls, anti-love, caretaker view, which is limited to the traits God gave you. So, I will correct the record. You want to enforce strict rules you've personally kept for a long time, like virgin oil. Then, who needs Jesus when Jesus forgot about the lost sheep, the spiritually downtrodden? God died for All of us, saint and sinner.

The Bible teachings are geared to groom a solid, moral citizen; benefiting mankind. This is not a race of the less sinless to the finish line because some are born in a Christian nation, and not a mud hut in Zimbabwe. Christianity proves an unfair advantage for the white man.

I don't murder people because of my loving belief in God, but because it is against the law and not my nature. I was just lucky not to be born a felon, a high degree thief, or a Vietnam Vet with no arms or legs, picketing outside Heavens Gate, drinking coolaid.

Your ledger forgets about God's great compassion for us. I want a reformed Stalin, Hitler, Putin, Bush, Cheny, Rumsfeld, Kissenger, Obama, Clinton, in heaven. I want the insane, the high functioning criminals, the incarcerated and lost souls to enter heaven. Without these people, prophesy could never be fulfilled.

If God destroyed His creations, He is also destroying the potential.

If someone was about to be rejected by God, and that person could reverse the decision by asking God questions, they would be: Who made who? Secondary questions: You regretted making man, which is on par with making a mistake. I see you have David in heaven, did you know what he did to Uriah? Why were you on anti-Christ's side, furbishing the sword you put in his hand, and delighted in his devices of indignation, only to turn on him? Why did you blame anti-christ for doing your will, destroying Babylon? God says: Welcome my son, welcome to heaven.
